I assume, they lied when they wrote this. There are several walkarounds for XFI cards
with beta drivers. In releas drivers they exclude the ASIOx64, but in beta it's included!
Creative has a very awkward marketing strategy. This was with Vista not having EAX on Audigy as
the said it is impossible. The newer X-FI was able to?do it and after a few weeks the Audigy also could-
after paying for it. The same with DolbyDigital Li've... and now with x64 ASIO. They reduce features
in cases the cheaper card had same possibilities as the more expensi've EMUs...
Shame on them. I?baught a creative Card for the 4th time (SB, SB AWE32,Audigy2, and now Titanium).
I'm going to thinking about selling it...

Mount time machine, how to open and recover .inprogress file

so this is how i fixed and mounted a time machine capsule ( it was extended journaled Case-sensitive) to MacBook Pro ( non-case sensitive) and recovered files from .inprogress file. for me it worked like a charm and lets see if this can help you too.
Found a way to figure it out! (mount drive). So I went to my gf's laptop and created a new backup file for her ( just the file or a new sparsebundle. the info.plist , token and info.bckup are the files that we need from here ). If no mac is available, create a new backup in pc but it has to be to the same time capsule ( the files that we need and create will point and tell the sparse bundle a new path to time capsule ) To het there you go to the sparse bundle Dmg, right click and go to "show contents". So this is how i change it, I open 2 finder windows and got each sparse bundle in it ( old one or damaged and new one), righ click on both > show contents and then replace these files from the new one to the damaged one ( info.plist , token and info.bckup ). That's it. The time machine at least mounted on my desktop and could see the files. Now for opening the .inprogress file; go to Automator >new workflow > and drag in this order; get selected finder items, get folder contents and open finder items. While the .inprogress file i selected, press "run" or play button in Automator. That's it. Now you may try to drag to desktop but it will say "the volume has the wrong case sensitive for a backup" but you should have access. Now for copying or move to somewhere; get another hard drive ( external) and format it to the same as time capsule ( extended journaled case sensitive is my case), once it's done, right click and go to info> at the bottom uncheck "ignore ownership" and close it. Now you can copy from .inprogress file to just formatted hard drive and from hard drive to laptop. Here's the annoying part; it will treat it as a special folder ( when you paste it in you desktop it's gonna ask for password, if you wanna move it somewhere else it's going to do it as well. But at least you can recover the file ) . once this process It's done just reformat your time capsule.

well, after you transfer everything to new hard drive and to avoid the putting a password everytime you move the folders, richt click on drive > get info > check again the "ignore ownership" option and you shouldnt have any problems transfering back folders

How to diagnose and recover corrupted datafile?

DBMS: Oracle v.9.2.0.1.0
OS: MS Server 2003 R2 SP2 x86
Problem: Database begin to stop every few minutes. I start to check and found that one and the largest of two datafiles is probably corrupted. Now I have no idea how to repair that datafile.
Firstly, I look into the alert.log and see that^

So, I turned archivelog on and open database but it continue to stop when somebody calls to some DB objects.
Then, I check v$headers:

That have looking creepy for me.
I tries to verify datafile:

The result of verification was unexpectedly clean:

Now I have that offlined tablespace in the probably not corrupted datafile and no idea how to get DB into the normal state.

That would been check my DB and put information of corrupted blocks to a V$DATABASE_BLOCK_CORRUPTION, but no! There's nothing:

Nevertheless, database doesn't open, until I switch bad datafile to offline^

How to back up iphoto when iphotolibrary is on an external hard drive

I have a large photolibrary which I store and access iphoto from an external hard drive. How can I back up that library?

Make sure that the drive that is storing your iPhoto library is fomatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Open Time Machine Preferences and then click Options
A list of items that are currently excluded from backups will appear
If your drive with the iPhoto library appears in this list, click it to highlight it, then click the - (minus) button to remove it from the excluded list.....so that it will be backed up on the next pass
In other words.....
If your drive holding the library is formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled)......AND....the drive does not appear in the list of excluded items.....then it is being backed up with your Mac.
Check to find your drive under Devices when you open Time Machine

The fact your database is RAC has no practical effect on the backup procedures. There is only one database; you backup it up the same way you back up an exclusive database. Recovery is affected in that you will need to provide Oracle access to both archived log destinations or copy the logs for one instance over to the other instance archive log directory so Oracle can find them.

If the recovery partition does not work and if you are not able to use the HDD recovery then you have just only one chance to get the factory settings.
You need to use the Recovery disk.
If the recovery disk is damage then you have to order a new one.
Check the page posted by user above.
PS: you can also use an clean MS Vista or other system disk.

Mr. Churchill - First, to answer your last questions:
Yes, the movie is fully downloaded, all 3.69 GBs.
No the Apple TV has 127.5 GBs of its 144.63 GBs free.
Second, I tried turning the Time Capsule WiFi rounter and Apple TV off (for at least two or three minutes, not the usual 10 seconds recommended) and I still could not move the movie.
Third, I severed the link and set it up again re-synced all 5,103 items back and still when I move the movies to the Apple TV box and Apply it, after 35 seconds it stops the sync and moves it back the the Rented Movies box.
Though I have set my Apple TV to sync with my MacBook Pro I cannot find a way to connect it to other than shared library, but not the "not shared library" (Is this what the Rented Movies are?). Is what Fletch is talking about int the "Rental Movies not showing up on Apple TV" discussion my problem and a solution?

there are three possibilities: you have not upgraded to version 2.0 or in Summary on the ATV device in iTunes, you should look whether you have it set up to only sync or otherwise disables movie syncing, or you have not paired your Mac to the ATV (on your tv, settings/computers/connect to itunes library - not shared library)

How to stop and (rewind) videos.

Hi.
I am trying to create my first 100% to be the page of a Multi-Artistic Performance i have with some friends.
All the content of the site is being displayed inside a Movie Clip (called "pageContainer_mc").
I have then 6 diferent pages, each with different content that load inside the "pageContainer_mc" acording to the use of the menu buttons.
the navigation worked fine.
But now i ran into a problem that i cannot find how to solve.
Inside 4 of the 6 pages i would like to put a video.
I have put it there with the FLVPlayback and then created Play, Stop and Pause Buttons.
The problem is, that when i click to go to another page the video continues playing back and then, when i come back to the previous page it is still going...
What i would like is, for instance, when i am at Page2 and click to go to Page3, then the Video on Page2 will stop. Once i click back to Page2 i would like that the video is again ready to start from the Begining (and not the place where it stoped previously).
The code animating the menu and loading the diferent contents is on Scene 1. The code animating the buttons for the videos is on each page.
Any ideas on how to achieve this?

The box {cannot use app in safe mode} would you like to temporarily switch, I press continue and it goes to please log in, and these two boxs go back and forth not allowing me to continue the game like farmville etc.

the dialogue box says {we cannot continue with this app in a secure mode. Would you like to temporarily disable to an unsecured mode and you will be able to use the app at your next log in.} I push the "Continue" button, not the cancel button and it tells me to {Please log in, you are not logged in}. I will then log in and the original window as mentioned above comes back again. These two boxes go back and forth when I try to continue in any of the games on Facebook.

I had just got it back from the shop last Friday. It was there for around two weeks. It was a faulty GPU (when you see garbled display that's consisten when booting it the GPU). I have a strong feeling it's related to the Lion install 10.7 or 10.7.1 and may be similar to reports of Mac laptops overheating. It's good the GPU is removable, it might have taken 3 week or a month if it had been the whole board.
It's a blessing in disguise though as with all or most cases because I also got to have the LCD replaced for excessive backlight bleeding (in my opinion), the dead pixel from the previous LCD isn't there anymore (though under the glass there're some smudges but nothing crucial). The backlight bleeding is still the same though in my opinion but at least it's new.
It's a great thing I bought Applecare. I didn't buy it for the iPhone because that's more durable (my iPhone 3G's 3 years old now and it's still solid. Although there are scratches and a crack at the back at the bottom, got sqeezed under the table I think when I sat). I think Applecare is a good recommend for things that get hot like desktop and laptop Macs(are the iOS considered Macs btw?) which are twice or thrice the price of iOS devices.

Nvidia keeps crashing and recovering

Just bought a secondhand Msi GT683r-232NE and my graphics card keeps crashing and recovering when I play wow. No other games. It only crashes when my laptop is plugged in, so I can game with the charger disconnected. It's a Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 if thats any help. Ive been looking fora solution for over two months now so i'm getting desperate. The previous owner never had this issue, though he only played FPSgames.

Seems to be a common WOW problem. Somebody got rid of it by enabling vsync. Running the game in DX9 mode seems to be the most used solution.
