Is there a way that i could backup 1528 itmes - 4 Days - 9,5GB. in itunes because i have alot of music +videos and i woudnt like to back this all up on like 300 blank cd it would take forever.

That message indicate that you are trying to sync with other than the one syncing computer/iTunes library that yo can have. You have to two choices:
- Make this computer your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
- The manual method of syncng specified here:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
or
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
The manaul method on works for music and videos on other than your one syncing computer.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.

How to backup library before an iTunes reinstallation

I run Vista, and I happened to have the problem of my CD/DVD drive disappearing on me. I googled it, figured out how to fix it by deleting a couple registry items and restarting, and it started working again. Only thing is, right after that every time I open iTunes I now get a message saying iTunes can no longer import CD's because something got changed, please reinstall. I kept ignoring it, and now iTunes won't even open up. So my question is, how can I for back up my iTunes library before uninstalling, so I won't have to manually import every song file. I have multiple copies of some songs and I don't want those back in the library after reinstalling. Also, after that how would I go about reimporting my old library?

Backup software will run automatically.
If everything on your computer disappeared right now or you r hard drive died and it would not affect/bother you in the least, you could get by without a backup.
But since you are here asking how to backup some files...
I highly suggest you consider it.

Connect your device to iTunes. The device should show at the top right just next to the iTunes Store button.
Or on a Mac to View > Show Sidebar, on a PC press Ctrl+S and the device should show in the sidebar

Can't figure how to organize touch items in itunes

I have created about 10 categories (history,music,rock, etc) on my touch using itunes. I have tried to drag items from my original categories to the better defined ones. They show up in the new category, but also remain in the old category. If I try to remove an item using "delete", I only get an option to remove the item from my touch. I can't find a way to remove just the item name from just the old category and leave it in the new category. I now have a bunch of mp3s and videos which show up in more than one category. Tough to stay organized. Any help ?

I too have experienced the "agony of defeat" with fonts and xterm. Here is how I use to launch my xterm:

How do I exclude select items or playlists from itunes match?

The quick answer is that you don't.
However, there are some options, which are all a bit fiddly.
You could split your library, so that songs which you don't want in the cloud are in one library and those that you do want are in another. There are plenty of problems with this method.
You could force the songs to be ineligible for match. The most common way of doing this is to tell iTunes that they are podcasts or audiobooks. That way match will exclude them, but depending on your useage this could be a problem. They won't turn up if you are shuffling music for example.
The method I prefer requires a second library signed up for match. Add your music and then, on the second library delete the songs, selecting to delete them from the cloud. This will not remove the original file from your main library and it will stay there with the iCloud status of "removed". I find that this works very well, but be warned that if you turn match off and on again on the main computer then it will add all those songs to the cloud again, so this isn't a solution if you are likely to turn match off and on regularly.
Other than that, the only option is to wait and hope that Apple add the ability to exclude songs.

The podcasts I listen are automatically organized chronologically. I downloaded something from itunes U and it is organized by date in itunes but alphabetically on my ipod so I have no idea which one actually comes first. I need to clean up MacBook Pro Mid 2012 as I seem to have serious problems with corruption of several software programs including mail and safari. It's been 'bugging' me for almost 2 years and after many, many hours on the phone with Tech Support the problem persists. Want to make sure all info is backed up to iCloud prior to restoring the notebook. I intend to reset all passwords and have already backed up my photos and music to an external hard drive. I have various mail accounts including gmail, @me/@icloud and others.... will these messages all be automatically stored in iCloud even if one is a POP accounts or do I need to save them externally?   Some of my Keynote projects, Numbers and my Pages documents are not in icloud but stored directly on my Mac... presumably they need to be saved to iCloud before I can safely continue. I have purchased Aperture and presume that all Apple purchases will be re-downloadable. Can someone advise please on how to make sure all is saved to iCloud before I continue.

Clone Yosemite, Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion using Restore Option of Disk Utility
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
     1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu then press the Continue
         button.
     2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
     3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
     4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it
         to the Destination entry field.
     5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
         the Source entry field.
     6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
Install OS X Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.

You can only make backups of a Mac on an external hard disk, not on iTunes. iTunes is used to make backups of iPhones, iPads and iPods touch.
