How to backup ONCE per DAY only
Hi
It takes forever (2hrs+) to backup 300GB onto our Time Capsule, and the backup slows down my computer so much to the point I want to pull my hair out! I can't seem to find a way to do an automatic backup once per day only rather than hourly without turning off the automatic backup and doing it manually.
Does anyone know how to do an automatic backup to Time Capsule once per day only?
Thank you!
Thank you for your assistance!
That is exactly what I was looking for, and am very relieved to know there is something available!!
I was hesitant to download it at first because since it is backing up all my files, I was afraid of the possibility of having a built in bug that would allow an outsider to access my files. However, I researched it, and it seems there are many happy & satisfied users of the Time Machine Editor software.
Thanks again! Hopefully Apple will just swallow their pride and make this ability available in one of their own software updates in the future.

How to run a Discoverer graph once per day for my intranet site
Hello,
I would like to run a particular worksheet graph once per day, and place it on my intranet site. For performance reasons I don't want Discoverer to re-run the worksheet every time a user views the graph.
Could someone kindly point me towards somewhere I can read about how to do this, or indeed offer some guidance ? I'd like to know how to generate my graph on a regular basis, and how I can construct a URL to link it into my intranet home page.
I am very appreciative of any help,
Steve - a Discoverer "newbie" :)Micheal
What version are you running?
In 5.31, what I would do is to have the main set M-F then use a different job (like a cmd echo or powershell write-host) on weekends that inserts the MF set at the time you want with a job event \ job insert action. This would override the time and execute when you want (you could probably just use one for SAT, SUN). we do similar things to avoid maintenance windows.
You might lose any downstream dependecies if the original is in a nested group but that might even work with a slight modification to the job depdency with the match occurance check box (relative to group, otherwise, for day) option
It would be best if tidal let you add multiple calendars to one job, not sure if that is in the works but it should be on their radar.

Exchange Server 2010 automatic reply once per day or once per week?
Hello,
can some tell me how often the automatic reply is send in Exchange Server 2010.
Is it once per day for each sender or once per week for each sender?
In the web some tell per week, some tell per day.
Is it possible to change the time shedule, so that each day a automatic reply is send?
Thanks,
EduardHello,
after some googling and consolidating the different examples on the Internet I came up with this powershell script which is executed by the windows task scheduler once a day. The script first gathers all the mailboxes for which the out of office mechanism
is activated. Then it disables the autorepliers for these mailboxes, waits for 10 seconds (this seems to be necessary to let exchange do some housekeeping) and then reenables the autorepliers.
Warning: I have learned that this script resets the time interval of the autoreplier. Any ideas how to preserve the time settings?
Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010
$objUsers = get-mailbox | Get-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration | Where-Object {$_.AutoReplyState -eq "scheduled" }
$objUsers | %{ Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration -Identity $_.identity -AutoReplyState disabled}
Start-Sleep -s 10
$objUsers | %{ Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration -Identity $_.identity -AutoReplyState scheduled}
Remember to use -AutoReplyState scheduled instead of -AutoReplyState enabled to reenable. -AutoReplyState enable should only be used for permanent autorepliers and not for "out of office" messages.
Cheers,
Florian -
Not working: Send subscription emails: Once per day?
Seasons Greetings,
Can someone please clarify/confirm what I should have in My Settings in Subscription Preferences.
They are currently:
Always subscribe to topics I create: Yes
Always subscribe to topics I reply to: Yes
Send subscription emails: Once per day
It's the last option that doesn't seem to work for me. Yesterday after spending a bit of time helping out all the new nano owners I opened Mail and has 67 posts yesterday, with 25 today so far.
Here's an example of 5 separate replies to one subject (numbered by me):
1. You have requested mail to be sent to you when messages to the Apple Discussions topic "how do I know when it is fully charged" are posted. hudgie posted "how do I know when it is fully charged" on Dec 27, 2005 12:25:46 PM.

I have some with more than 5 but I don't want to bore you too much
What I really expected with 'Send subscription emails: Once per day' was a digest listing all replies to all posts for a 24 hour period.
Have I misunderstood or is something wrong?

Receive all emails once per day
I have had my Blackberry for over 2 years now and have never had trouble receiving emails until last week. Now I only get emails once per day......all of them come at once. I haven't changed any settings - anybody have any suggestions.
ThanksHi
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem. If not then more information will be needed before making suggestions. Please provide as much as you are able of the the following
Blackberry Model.
Carrier Name.
Do you have a Data Plan?
Operating System Version go to Menu > Options > About - it looks like v5.0.0.681
Memory for Device and SD Card Options > Memory
Any error statement or code.
The Exact nature of problem - the more info the better.
When this started and whether it started just after an update or new App download and which App/s theme/s download.

We're running a samll campaing and want to limit a popup for

Could anyone

0crm_mktattr_attr - delta only once per day possible?
Hi all,
we want to use delta functionality for 0crm_mktattr_attr. The problem is, that only once a day the delta for a business partner is beeing transfered to the bw. If you have done another change on the same business partner, no delta is being generated (neither that day nor the next day - so this change is lost). If we change another business partner, a new delta is created (if the business partner was not changed before the first delta. Is there any other setting we have to do to transfer get each change?
We're using CRM 7.01 SP07, BW 7.0. 0crm_mktattr_attr is already set to Delta-method AIE, changepointers (general) are activated and changepointers for message type RS0026 are also activated.
Regards,
FlorianHi Florian,
Any solution for this problem?
I also need to load data 0CRM_MKTATTR_ATTR and I´m not sure which change pointer I have to activate. For the INITIAL data load into SAP CRM, we deactivate the Change Pointer RS0027 as SAP oriented.
If I set it back, will this Datasource be Delta enabled?
Thanks

Hi
I have a 1st generation Time Capsule, up to date with firmware etc.
I have it set-up wirelessly with my network (not using the TC's router capability, just connected to existing network).
I am using Time Machine Scheduler to back up the iMac once a day (don't create many docs etc., so not many changes to necessitate more than once a day).
However, every couple of minutes, the TC disc spins briefly, as if it's having to response to a request from a device on the network - but none of the devices are connecting to the TC as far as I know.
It's driving me nuts!
Any ideas as to why it's doing this, and, more importantly, how I can stop it?
Cheers
mattHi LaPastenague
Thanks for the quick response - can I just check - how do I go back to an earllier firmware version?
thanks

HT203353 Safari Force Quits Once per Day
Safari has been force quitting automatically (without a message saying it has force quit or that it has encountered an error - it just quits) once every day for the past 5 months. Normally this occurs soon after waking the computer up from an overnight sleep if I have left Safari open before putting the computer to sleep the day before, or it happens soon after starting the application for the first time on any given day. The good news is that, after it force quits once, I can open the application again and it will function without issues throughout the rest of the day. For this reason I held off looking for support and just hoped that an update would help to fix it.
Since no update has resolved this issue, I have tried reinstalling the application and plug-ins and refreshing all updates for Safari along with other supporting updates, but there has been no change. I have also tried restarting the computer, quitting all applications before putting it to sleep, or turning it completely off overnight, but the issue remains.
It's only a minor annoyance, but any ideas on how might I be able to finally fix this problem?Thank you so much for your quick input!
Step 1 Response: This is what I found from yesterday's episode (one has not yet happened today). So it looks like it's related to an installation?
4/4/15 8:17:13.246 AM Installer[6689]: GList Safari 7.100000 is Higher runtime version : 7.100000
4/4/15 8:17:13.247 AM Installer[6689]: terminateSafari
Step 2 Response: This was the only crash in my log. It happened about a month ago, but if I remember correctly it was related to Safari quitting unexpectedly.

QT updater pops up multiple times per day, ONLY option is QT + iTunes
Problem:
Recently the QT updater has decided to pop up not just once every few days, not just once a day, but from one to a dozen times a day. This is SO annoying!!! I disabled QTTASK in startup, but if I run QT then QTTASK is re-enabled!! ARGGGHHH!!!
Questions:
1) How do I run Quicktime WITHOUT it re-enabling QTTASK?
Also, in the pop-up, only one update option is offered - QT plus iTunes. Perhaps others like and use iTunes, but I don't and I don't want to install it!!!! EVER!!! So...
2) If QTTASK isn't going to give me an option to JUST update Quicktime, How do I PERMANENTLY disable QTTASK? (what's the point in having it if I have to go out to the Apple web site and manually update?)
Thanks for your help! Thanks for the response! I changed the settings, and checked in msconfig to verify that I had disabled qttask (I had). I rebooted, and for a while all appeared well. About 12 hours after the reboot I played a .mov file, and shortly afterward I started getting prompted to update for the iTunes and QT update <big sigh>.
I certainly hope Apple doesn't force iTunes upon us. I had two disasters caused by iTunes, and I wonder if my qttask problems aren't related to the iTunes problems. In short, iTunes didn't like the Adobe software already on the box (a very expensive suite). I'm sorry, but I need the Adobe software a few orders of magnitute more than I need iTunes, so I cancelled the iTunes installation. iTunes apparently doesn't like that, and I had to revert to the system restore point I made just before starting the install of iTunes. Only apparently something from iTunes survived (how does that happen?), as at the next boot iTunes popped up to tell me my installation was incomplete at that there was a conflict with this and that and that (all Adobe). So I went back to a system restore point from 3 days before the attempt at installing iTunes. Same thing happened. Since trying to cancel the iTunes installer didn't work, I killed it with task manager. That was a month ago, and then last week the qt updater annoyance began. Maybe a complete uninstall of all Apple software is needed? Any suggestions on how to completely remove whatever portions of iTunes are left behind? -

EA series 4500 and 6500 routers disconnecting once per day, everyday at the same time
I have had an EA4500 and EA6500 have the following problem:
I have time warner cable internet, Motorola SB6141 modem. The modem connects to an Ooma Telo. The 4500 and then 6500 are connected to the ooma.
I have this problem when the routers where placed in front of the ooma as well.
1 time per day, always at the same time, the router stops working. for both wired and wireless connections. i need to unplug the router to work. The modem and ooma continue to work, so i know there is internet getting passed from the modem to the ooma. However, the internet gets disruptted with the routers.
this must be a settings issue with the router. where everyday at the same time, maybe when timewarner changes over or something the router does not pick it up?? i dont know. i have gone through 2 routers and same identical problem.
thanks. The DHCP lease time from your ISP might be set on that time that is why 2 routers are behaving the same way. And the routers may not be renewing the ip address successfully, that is why you are losing the internet connection. What you can do is to clone the mac address and you can do that by accessing the router page.
If you are using the linksys smart wifi interface, go to connectivity > internet settings > click on clone my pc's mac > click on apply.
You may also check this site for more information about intermittent connections with the router:

PWA Timesheet - How to limit hours per day on timesheet submission?
I've set "Maximum Hours per day" limiation to 24 hours on "Timesheet settings and defaults" and it works when a user click "Save" on "Timesheet" view.
But when the user click "Send" without saving first, it bypasses this limitation and save the timesheet reporting with any amount of hours that the user entered.
Is there any way to solve this and limit the user so he won't be able to submit more than 24 hours per day?
ThanksUnder configure timesheet settings and defaults
In the Hourly Reporting Limits section, specify the maximum and minimum hours allowed in a timesheet and the maximum number of hours allowed to be reported in a day. If team members report time beyond these limits, errors appear on their timesheets when
they submit them.
make it 8 hours then check.

How to make Time Machine only back up once per day?
I really really don't need time machine to back up EVERY HOUR. It's overkill for me and with the level of computing I am forcing my computer to do most of the day its VERY irritating. Is there anyway to change the settings so it only backs up once every night?
Yeah, we tried using TimeMachineEditor on a friend's laptop. There will be 2 laptops backing up, and we wanted them both to backup overnight at different times when there would be no interruptions (for user or computer). It seemed to work OK (have to check w/ them), but how do you verify when backups were actually done?
I have a couple related question to this, though, that may also be helpful for folks:
- I'm guessing Time Machine cannot do a backup when the computer is asleep, correct? If a Time Machine backup starts while the computer is 'awake', will it keep the computer from sleeping so it can finish?
- If I set a schedule in the Energy Saver preferences to 'Wake Up' the computer at midnight (before scheduled backup), and 'Sleep' later on (say 4am), does this override the other preferences set for sleep in Energy Saver? (ie - if it's set to sleep after 30min., will the computer wake up at midnight only to go back to sleep 30min. later, or will it stay 'awake' until 4am?)
- Do you need to uncheck 'Put the hard drive to sleep when possible'? -
How many iPhones stolen per day? Prevent shutdown.
Dear friends.
Since I had my iPhone stolen I'm searching for a way (without jailbreaking it) to prevent that my new iPhone gets lost.
"Find my iPhone" is only useful when the thief is dum.b as hel.l and when nobody has found it (yet).
Does Apple see comercial advantages on this situation? How many iPhones are stolen a day?!
I mean, why in the world wouldn't you develop security apps and security features so we don't lose our beloved phones?
This is serious, and it seems Apple doesn't care. I don't want to jailbreak my iPhone, but you are not helping, Apple!
I would like to see a Restriction setting that would block the shutdown of my iPhone when it's locked. It would require a passcode to shut it down. It's so simple!
This way thieves wouldn't be able to shut it down!
The same works for Airplane mode and Wi-Fi. A passcode should be required to turn it off (if I enable this feature).
Advanced considerations: DFU mode and recovery mode should "expire", the iPhone should reset itself after some time (e.g. 10 minutes) so the iPhone would come back to life and allow tracking.
SECURITY!
So far nothing was done in this area. I believe Apple should pay more attention to this.
Best regards,

Sorry requiring a passcode to shut down the phone isn't a good idea.
do you know how many users forget their 4 digit passcode to unlock their phones - use the search function at the top right and you'll see all the threads.
