  • How to backup pictures from 'photo library"

I've been to 3 different stores across the US and no one can answer my questions or just say that my pictures are pretty much lost.
I had a 3G and a 15 MBP that had pictures of my daughter on them at birth. I had to send my MBP back to apple to get fixed and at the time the rep at the store asked if I had backups. I told him the only thing that mattered to me were the pictures on there at the time and that I had a copy of them on my 3G phone and I could synch them to my 17" MBP.
Fast forward, and A) my time machine backup doesn't work from my 15" MBP B) I can't figure out how to get to the pictures to get them off.
Now let me clarify B some.
When I go into the photo albums I have "camera roll" "photo library" "last 12 months" and "last import". I can back up Camera roll to iTunes or download pictures directly from the phone in windows - what I can;t figure out is how to get the pictures out of "photo library". That's where my daughters pictures are.
I have a copy of these pictures on my 3GS phone from previous sync, but the upgrade to the iOS 4 has completely ruined them (the blurry image issue) and the only originals I have left are on the 3G.
I could individually mail each photo to myself if I swapped out my SIM card, but that's a lot of photos to email.. an easier solution would be appreciated.

Photos in the iPhone's Camera Roll, which is where photos that are captured by the iPhone are stored, can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera even though these photos are included with your iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone alone for these photos as with any other digital camera, and the same for the iPhone's backup which stores a significant amount of other data.
Photos in the iPhone's Photo Library include photos that were transferred from your computer to your iPhone only via the iTunes sync/transfer process, which is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer are not included with the iPhone's backup. These photos should be included with your computer's backup. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone as part of the iTunes transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
There are a number of 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction, but the original resolution of these photos will be lost in the process.

  • How to backup to my Mac iPad backup in iCloud

I received a notification by email that lets me know that I'll have to free up space of my iCloud storage, this because the 20GB plan expires automatically and is gonna downgrade to 5GB this september 30th. I need to backup back to my Mac a backup of my iPad. I cannot find out the way to do it. Apple, "thanks" for the courtesy of let me use this "stunning" 20GB backup service but you are obligated to supply a easy way to recover our data. Those elegant and simple Apple's manners are gone.

Sorry for the complaint, never thought this "free" space were intended for contemplation. Then this guys who pay doesn't have a backup tool? Nothing to thank to Apple, common silly. Talking about brilliant advices: go and get a girl, handsome . Don't make me cry with this overwhelming story of Apple's carities.

  • I just bought a macbook pro and I want to know how to restore pictures that were backed up on iCloud but then deleted from my phone. Isn't that the point of the backup so I can delete and make more space. Please help!

I just bought a macbook pro and I want to know how to restore pictures that were backed up on iCloud but then deleted from my phone. Isn't that the point of the backup so I can delete and make more space. Please help!

Log into the iCloud on your MacBook Pro and enable Photo Stream:
Then launch iPhoto and set iPhoto's Photo Stream preferences to the following:
Then check the Photo Stream section of iPhoto:
This is to confirm that the photos are still in Photo Stream. If they are they will be imported into the library.
NOTE: not all photos in an iPhone will be in the Photo Stream. PS only keeps photos in it for 30 days.
If you have the missing photos in your library put them in an album.  Connect your iPhone to the Mac and open iTunes.  In iTunes you can select that album in the library and sync the photos to your iPhone to get them back on the iPhone.

  • How do I use a Mac Mini + Airport Express + Time Machine disk to backup another iMac

How do I use a Mac Mini + Airport Express + Time Machine disk to backup another iMac?
The question pretty much says it all.
I have a Mac Mini with an attached 3TB Hard Drive used for Time Machine Backups.
I have an Airport Extreme base station which services that machine plus several others.
I would like to backup my new iMac and a MacBook Pro to the Mac Mini.
What do I need to do on the mini to export that hard drive so that it can be used as a Time Machine target from the other systems?
    All systems are running 10.6.8.

Well you would have to do backups over a network which is much slower and has highest chance of becoming corrupt. I think your best option would be to get an apple time capsule to act as a network and back if thats how you wanna do that

  • HOW CAN I RESTORE MY ITUNES BACKUP FROM MY MAC BOOK TO MY DESKTOP MAC?

HOW CAN I RESTORE MY ITUNES IPHONE BACKUP FROM MY MAC BOOK TO MY DESKTOP MAC? THE REASON IS BECAUSE I HAVE TEXTFREE TEXT MESSAGES THAT I NEED FOR MY ATTORNEY AND WHEN I RESTORE IT FROM MY MACBOOK IT DOESNT INSTALL THE TEXTFREE BECAUSE I HAD DELETED ALL MY APPS IN ITUNES FROM IT. I HAVE ALL THE APPS ON MY DESKTOP MAC BUT I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO EXTRACT ONLY THE BACKUPS FROM THE MACBOOK AND IMPORT TO MY MAC DESKTOP. THE DESKTOP MAC IS THE ONE THAT HAS ALL OF MY LATEST BACKUPS. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER. THANKYOU

Easy. Copy it from the old Mac to the new one.
There are a variety of techniques including Setup Assistant (as soon as you get your new MacBook Air, it will ask you if you want to transfer information from another computer), Migration Assistant (if you elect to transfer information later), enabling file sharing between the two computers, or copying your music to a flash drive or other storage device followed by importing it to iTunes.
iTunes: How to move your music from one computer to another
Once your music library and everything else you want to transfer from the MacBook Pro resides on the new MBA, sync your iPod to the MBA. Sync the iPhone too when you get it, and they will both have identical iTunes music libraries.

  • My iphone4 in Photo stream got 462 pcs pictures but backup to PC Windows base icloud software Photo stream just backup 262pcs pictures, How to backup full pictures to my PC?

My iphone4 in Photo stream got 462 pcs pictures but backup to PC Windows base icloud software Photo stream just backup 262pcs pictures, How to backup full pictures to my PC?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • How would I move the iphone backup from a mac to a pc and do a full restore so I don't lose my settings?

    Hello,
I am moving from a mac to pc (i know, not many people do this, but it's for work) and I would like to transfer my itunes library with all of the iphone backups, playlist, playcounts, etc. over.  Can I restore my iphone backups from the mac on the pc?  How would I do that?  How would I make sure all of my metedata for itunes is transferred properly as well?
    Thanks much,

  • I did backup from my Imac to external hard drive, how can I unzip that backup to my mac

I did backup from my Imac to external hard drive, how can I unzip that backup to my mac again

It may be Time Machine, but Time Machine doesn't store backups in .zip folders. Open Finder and select your backup external disk in the Finder sidebar, under "Devices". If you are using Time Machine, you should see a folder called "Backups.backupdb".
If you are using Time Machine and you want to restore a full Time Machine backup, there are different methods depending on the Mac OS X version you are using. Open  > About this Mac, see Version and tell me what version you are using

  • HT5661 how to backup iphone onto a mac?

Hi, could someone tell me how to backup my iphone on my mac?  my icloud upload takes too long.

  • How can I see another mac backup on time machine?

how can I see another mac backup on time machine?

Bob thanks, but that didn't solve my problem, I went to question 17 and went into the Browse my Time Machine and it also didn't find or recognize the other Mac.  I know it's in there because when I open the other Mac and Enter the Time Machine, I can see it through that Mac, and I have the same problem there, where I can't see my Mac.
In short, when I back up a Mac (doesn't matter which one) I can verify its backup as long as I use that Mac, but I cannont verfiy the backup on that Mac using another Mac and vice versa.
Also, I never used to have to do anything to see both on the same Mac.  So I don't know what changed.
    There must be another way.
    Thanks
