How to batch edit...adding text(company logo)

I would like to add my company name (logo) to my images before posting them to the internet, but is there a quicker way than to open each file and add the text to each indiviual image...like even to save it as a selection that i could open or something ???...oh yeah, i have cs4

You can use batch comand or image processor in Bridge. I believe in CS4 it was moved to Output.

Does anyone know how to simply edit the text in the spine of hard cover, 40 page book in the book module? I can click into any other text window and edit and change attributes but I am locked out of editing text when it comes to the spine of the book. I spoke to Blurb support and they referred me to Adobe. I spent 45 minutes with support here - no one knew. I have experienced all the fiddly aspects you mentioned - these are attributes and although changing them requires the skill of a surgeon's hand - it's the actual editing of the text I can't seem to access anymore. The box just won't allow me to do anything except change attributes. Does that make sense? And it's only on the spine where I am having this issue. Puzzled! I have even rebooted the program and just now the computer - to no avail.

What is the file format of the vector you downloaded? Custom Shapes have a .PSP extension, and are placed according to this table.
Preference filenames and locations in Photoshop CC
They will then be loadable from the Custom Shapes drop down — click on the cog icon > Load shape > Find your downloaded vector.
Once placed in the image, it will appear as a Shape layer, and can be edited with the Path, and Direct Selection tools (black and white arrows on the toolbar)

That's a pretty broad question, do you have something specific you're trying to accomplish?
As one example though, this will create an input file (you could just use one you already have, but this is a fully contained example), read it, replace the word 'text' with the word 'fun', and write an output file:

Are you familiar with the batch change command (cmd-shift-b)?
You'll be given the option to create a new metadata preset. Pick the IPTC fields that you need to change.
Be careful with the "Append" vs. "Replace" option!

I have a PDF document written by someone else. Using Adobe Pro X, how do I erase the text and replace it with new text?. I don't want to edit anything but the text (leaving all photos and graphs intact). Basically, the document is written in German and I wanto do through the document and replace all German text with the English translations. I am new to Adobe and I just can't figure this out. As PDF is not a "word processing" format heavy editing such as you describe has a high probability of damaging the PDF.
While the TouchUp Text tool supports minor "touch ups" it is not designed to support word processor like content editing.
Regarding removal of PDF page content. You can use the Redaction tool for that.
Read the Help topics on this so as to use the tool properly (if you want full removal of the selected content).
You might consider use of the Text Edit feature - this supports cross-out of selected text and has an associated pop-up into which you could enter the English.
Regardless, consider making "work" copies of the original PDF as, again, more than minor "touch up" can (and often does) result in making a PDF unusable.

You can only delete messages frmo a text-message conversation - not edit them . Under iOS 7, you'd need to long-tap on a single message then tap "More...". You will now be able to select multiple messages in a thread and delete them.

Better yet, edit the original source document, create a new PDF, and replace the old pages with the new: Tools > Pages > Replace

We really don't know what you are talking about, we can't see your screen and you have not really described what you doing.
Just guessing, you are talking about Pages 5, on a Mac, in OSX 10.9?
Apple has removed so many features (over 90+) and the rest are either buggy or awkward.
Why not just use Pages '09 which is still in your Applications/iWork folder if that is what you know?

That's outdated tech. XFL has been scrapped and just the same there has been no notable work on AE's XML project export. You need to use scripts like pt_OpenSesame to export the projects to an intermediary editable text file or create your own set of tools, including possibly expressions as well.

I really feel for you but this is not a limitation of XMLP. The standard template format is RTF that can be opened in MSWord with or without our plugin. What can be a more easier template building tool.
the Purchasing team chose to go with the XSLFO format, admittedly when they started we did not have the RTF format but before they released the RTF templates were ready but they decided to go with XSLFO. that has left you stucj trying to find a visual XSLFO editor. There are some on the market out there but Im not sure that they are free.
As a work around we have worked with a few customers whereby they build the template using our template builder in Word and then export it as an XSLFO template and then load that to the template manager and use that. You'll need to keep the RTF handy for any updates. But its definitely a viable workaround until the PO team support RTF templates.

My text is always edited in Portrait format and I would like to avoid calculating my characters to fit in a larger landscape presentation format.

I tried your procedure and found that I was using DINA4 as a default page format. In SPAD this format was defined for Portrait and Landscape. I created a new page format ZDINA4 with a larger width but the text module presentation remains the same. I only defined the landscape record and I have the same result by clicking Print Layout or Draft. Do you know if this page format has an influence on the Text Module presentation? I would like to put the ruler much wider that it is locked at 21. Any suggestion on how to enlarge the ruler?

Yes I know how to set up the page format in the Smartforms itself but I am talking about the text module. My key user will create the Text Module and I would like to have the same width as my landscape page in the form. If will make things easier for the user to make the data entry since it looks like MS-Word except for the Portrait/Landscape issue. Any idea?
