How to beam photos in iphoto app

How do I beam photos in iPhoto?  When I beam, "no devices found" shows up.

Well John,
This is how I fixed it.
I visited the Apple 'how to Beam' page but found one instruction missing
Turn Bluetooth on.
Try doing that - and I found that suddenly my wife's missing iPhone was found.
Let me know if this works for you

How to get photos from iPhoto back onto a SD card. I have a MacBook Pro with built in SD card slot. I have tried "Export" but this does not work.

It's best to export the photos to a folder and then drag the folder onto the memory card.  Memory cards are usually formatted for PCs, FAT 32, which doesn't permit more than a limited number of files in the root directory. Putting the photos in a folder gets around that limitation.

Open Mac Mail. From the menu bar top of your screen click Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Select which email address you want to use to share photos on Facebook or email from the pop up menu next to:  Default email reader:
Launch iPhoto. Select the photo then from the iPhoto menu bar click Share > Email or Share > Facebook.

  • HT204414 how to merge my iPhoto Library into my Photos System Library or how to import photos from iPhoto to Photos?

Can anyone tell me how to merge my iPhoto Library into my Photos System Library or how to import photos from iPhoto to Photos?

How many did you trash at one go? iPhoto will baulk and possibly corrupt if you try trash too many at one go. Expereinced users recommend getting rid of them in batches of about 100 or so.
What's your plan for the remaining images in the iPhoto Library (the 2k photos and 4 videos)?

Need to transfer all my photos from iPhoto app in my computer to another one, which files do I need to copy?

You need to find your iPhoto Library and copy this package to your other computer.
By default the library will be called iPhoto Libary.photolibrary and located in your Pictures folder. YOu will recognize it by the typical "fan of pictures" icon. The color of the icon wil depend on the iPhoto version. What is your version of iPhoto?

  • Does anyone know how to take photos from IPHOTO into Lightroom?

does anyone know how to take photos from IPHOTO into Lightroom?

Because Apple has dropped "Aperture" and is switching users away from "iPhoto" to a new photo application called "Photo" so that they are more fully integrated with the Yosemite 10 and the iOS 8.3 going forward there are some instructions how to import photos into Lightroom without losing to much metadata or other information. Go under Lightroom help and follow he instructions.

  • How 2 get edited photo from iphoto app back into iPhoto?

I have the new iPhoto app.
I can't seem to get my edit photos back into iPhoto on my imac.
I thought save to iTunes would do it but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Sure would like to just go back to my mac and find the photo updated.
I have the photo stream turned off and just sync with a cable.
    Problem 2
The photos and albums seem to be in random order.  This makes it almost impossible to find the photo I want to edit.
    Can anybody please help?

<If you are using the cable: Connect your iPad > open iPhoto > select your iPad on the left under devices > Import <button top right of iPhoto (blue button).

    <Do not import through iTunes.
Sorry - that was no help.
If I edit a photo in e iPhoto app then connect and bring up iPhoto on my mac the iPad device has no photos to import.
I have imported hundreds of photos from iPhones and iPads - I know how to import.
Even if there was a photo laying there to import - that is not what I want because...
Imagine if I had 100 photos then edited all 100 photos on my iPad.
Then if I imported them I would now have 200 photos in iPhoto on my mac.
I want the edited photo to update the original just as tho I edited it in iPhoto on my mac.
So I could "Revert to Original" if I needed to but probably never would.
So the question is when you share to iTunes where does it go?
Also the new album it creates "Edited" - What's the story on that?

  • How to find photos in iPhoto which may not be there - but appear.

An acquaintance of mine has by accident deleted a bunch of photos from iPhoto, assuming he had already moved them into another folder. Somethings strange happened, as the still appear to accesible, but then again not really. I have promised to help him, and he explains his actions like the following:
    1. I transferred my photos from a Fujifilm Finepix camera to a New Event (A) in iPhoto.
    2. I then deleted the photos on the camera.
    3. Then I made other new folders/events (B) with other names.
    4. I moved the photos from folder A to these new folders B without any problems (I can still see these photos as small bitmaps, please see later)
    5. Then I created another event, but by accident I gave it the same name as the folder A in which the photos originally were.
    6. I then deleted this original folder A from which the photos had been removed, as I assumed it was empty.
    7. Now - this process has caused that the photos have disappeared everywhere, and I cannot see the photos in folder B. However, empty frames of the photos appear there.
    8. Also, when I press the Edit button at the bottom of iPhoto, all the photos appear at the top as small bitmaps, but they cannot be opened.
    9. The photos cannot be seen in Finder, in Trash inside iPhoto or in the normal OS X Trash bin.
Now, the question is: are the photos to be found for recovery somewhere in iPhoto (or elsewhere) which we as amateurs do not know about - since they appear as thumbnails?
    I hope somebody can help.
    Thank you kindly.

first off we only have words to communicate with so it is important to use them correctly adn consistantly
You seem to be using folders and events interchangelably
In iPhoto folders are organizational elments that do not hold photos - they hold albums or other folders  --  are you talking about events in every case or are you talking about finder folders (which do hold files that may contain photos) accessed via the finder and events accessed via iPhoto?
Thumbnails are totalklyt seperate from the main photo - iPhoto always has either two or three versions of a photo used for different purposes - a thumbnail and the oriiginal plus possibly a preview of the photo - these are each in seperat files (and in seperate folders within the iPhoto database) and any of the three can be missing due to datgabase errors or user actions - without exact and accurate information we can only make guesses about yoru situation
How were the photos moved from event (I assume) A to B
How did you delete event A
What version of iPhoto and of the OS?

  • I have a LaCie external hard disk. I do not know how to retrieve photos from iphoto that have disappeared. I do not know how to use Time Machine

I have a LaCie external hard drive. I also have Time Machine. I somehow have "lost" almost all my 5,000+ photos from iPhoto 8.1.2. I would appreciate someone giving me directions on how to retrieve the photos from the external hard drive or Time Machine.
The last thing that I did that is different from my normal routine was to trash duplicate music tunes from iTunes. I cannot figure out how that would have caused my photos to disappear.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Marilyn

I remember being cautioned to never do anything with the iPhoto Library. Should I have clicked on the iPhoto Library and then Restore?
I do not know "how" items are being placed in the LaCie external drive, just that it shows a backup running about every hour. I have taken a snapshot of the Time Machine Preferences I would you to see. Maybe that would answer this question.
In March 2011 I had to have hard drive on my iMac replaced. I had been using a Seagate external drive for backups. However I was not using Time Machine. When the Apple guru was helping me restore all my files etc on the new hard drive he was not familiar with Seagate and recommended I purchase this LaCie and use Time Machine. I never had any problem retrieving items from the Seagate backup. It was very straightforward. As I mentioned previously, I just don't have a clue with the LaCie and Time Machine.
I hope this is not TMI.

  • HT204612 how to put photos in iPhoto to trash

    How to restore Iphoto

    your profile is not clear:
Macbook Air, has OSX which version?
iOS8.3 is the OS of an iPad/iPhone.
I suppose you want to trash one or more photos in iPhoto:
you do that in iPhoto, but remember that iPhoto has its own trashbin, so it you wish it gone forever, you also have to empty that trashbin in iPhoto.
I do not know what you mean by How to restore Iphoto
    explain that please.

  • How to import photos from iPhoto to Lightroom?

Hey Guys, How do I export photos from iPhoto to Lightroom? I deleted them from the SD Card so I cannot import them directly to Lightroom. Im using a mac so its all very confusing for me. Please help me., Hey Guys, How do I export photos from iPhoto to Lightroom? I deleted them from the SD Card so I cannot import them directly to Lightroom. Im using a mac so its all very confusing for me. Please help me.

To simply import the original files is quite a simple process.
Locate the iPhoto Library (default is your Pictures Folder). Right click on it and select "Show Package Contents".
Locate the Masters folder and drag it onto the Lightroom icon or an open Library window. This will invoke the Import command.
Be sure "Include Subfolders" is checked.
Now you can import all the original files.
If your goal is to maintain structure of the Events it gets a little more tedious. Drag the event onto the Lightroom icon or the Library window. Once imported you can group them into a Collection Name that mimics the Event.
    Repeat with other events.
With the impending demise of iPhoto and Aperture, I suspect Apple may be working with Adobe to develop an automated process that will also maintain metadata that was added in those programs. If you can wait a while, it may be worth it.

  • Restore hidden photos in iPhoto app

I hid some photos in an iPhoto app (IOS 5.1) and when I returned to the album they were gone. The selected hidden photos worked until I left the album and they remain in the Photo app.
Any ideas on getting them back into iPhoto?

Ok, I tested with a synced group of photos, and anything I've hidden I can still see if I click the number of photos in the photo browser. I've included some pictures to make sure we're talking about the same places.

  • How to transfer photos in iPhoto to flash drive?

How do I transfer photos in iphoto streaming to flash drive  (Mavericks)?

If by streaming you mean My Photo Stream make sure you have the iCloud preferences in iPhoto set to import the MPS photos into the library as shown in this screenshot:
If it's not set already you'll need to select the photos in the photo stream and import them yourself by right clicking and selecting "Import into library" from the contextual menu.
Then export the photos you want to a folder on the desktop according the the directions in the user tip: Exporting From iPhoto.
When the export is complete drag the folder onto the flash drive.
