How to become a Mozilla Firefox Support Forum Moderator.

I am very sorry to ask this here. I asked this here because I don't know where to ask. I am a Contributor in the Mozilla Support forum Top Contributors list. Many of the Top contributors are Moderators. I would like to be a Moderator too. However I don't know what to do to become a Moderator.

Even if the need is there, you might need more total support postings before being asked. I was coming here to contribute for over a year and a half ''(the first year was very infrequent, like once a week for a few hours)'', and had more than 1000 support postings before I was asked. The "counter" was reset with the forum software upgrade back in July 2010, so a lot of us have far more postings than shown now. My total was a shade over 30,000 before, and IIRC, '''co-rel''' had in excess of 100,000 at the end of July. Other contributors counts I don't recall.

  • The Mozilla Firefox Support Forum software does not allow me to log-in. Why?

When I try to log-in to this web site with my longstanding credentials, no error message is displayed and the page "shakes" briefly like a car hitting a rut on a dirt road, and it appears that I am not, in fact, logged-in.
What is more basic and elementary than a log-on page, for crying out loud! One would think that with all of the (ostensibly) technically knowledgeable people involved with Mozilla and its software, that someone would be able to produce a user-friendly web site. Instead we get user-hostile nerdy geek stuff that might have been clever for 15 minutes 40 years ago.

sendRefererHeader is set to the integer 2.
So what's up with the "shaking" as some moron's idea of an error message that fails to effectively communicate any useful information so that the user can take measures to correct it or otherwise be able to log-in?
They're probably the same moron who decided that no one should ever be able to open more than one tab for the same web site page. Whoever decided to make that change in Firefox 4 obviously does not have a clue as to how to use the browser that s/he is changing. Why are they even on the team?
Everything that I read about Firefox 4 inspires me to re-consider using Google Chrome.
(P.S.: please look up the definition of "moron" and consider how I've used it before you take offense. The shoe fits.)

  • How can i install mozilla firefox on my iBook G4

How can i install mozilla firefox on my iBook G4

The mozilla-derived Firefox-based browser known as Tenfourfox does a fair job and is about due for code upgrade near the end of  this year from version 17 to version 24. Tenfourfox can run in Tiger 10.4.11 + Leopard 10.5.8.
    http://www.tenfourfox.com/
I have & use both Tenfourfox + SeamonkeyPPC versions in my PPC G4 Macs. (My third choice is iCab...)
These both play well together and can be run simultaneosly without odd effects, unlike what can happen if you were to run the original Firefox and then launch Tenfourfox; as those share resources. I use SeaMonkey PPC for my web mail login via google Notifier, and have that set as the default browser through use of Safari's preference settings. Even though my first browser choice is Tenfourfox.
You can choose to 'enable plugins' of stuff that by default is turned off in tenfourfox, for security reasons, such as an older no-longer supported version of adobe's Flash. However, video such as youtube content will often automatically work OK from most sites via Tenfourfox now.
    {There's also a seamonkey 'modern version' for intel-based macs w/ later OS X, not at the seamonkeyPPC site...}
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Text on Firefox Support Forum is too faint to read.

When I go to Firefox Support Forum the text is either in faint gray instead of black, or some faint pastel color instead of high contrast color, and both are hard to read.

You can use the NoSquint extension to set text and background colors.

  • How do i unregister from blackberry support forum

How do I unregister from blackberry support forum?

There's no formal method of doing so. You could PM a mod and request it, otherwise just don't post or show up anymore.
    I hope that helps you.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • Adobe flashplayer won't continue downloading until I close Mozilla Foxfire,Adobe says it's conflicting the download. How do I close Mozilla Firefox?

Adobe flashplayer won't continue downloading until I close Mozilla Foxfire. Adobe says it's conflicting the download. How do I close Mozilla Firefox so I can finish my download of Adobe Flash Player? And then how will I turn Foxfire back on once Adobe Flash Player is done downloading?

To close Firefox, in the menus select "File > Exit", you can start Firefox by using the same shortcut that you used to open Firefox originally.
I would ignore the instructions from Adobe. Adobe uses its own download manager but it is not required. All you need to do to install Adobe Flash is download the Adobe Flash manual installer and run it. For details on doing that see the Adobe troubleshooting article - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller

  • Firefox Support forum web page doesn't show any text

All other web pages load perfectly except Firefox Support Forum. It shows only search box and some tag words. When I type into search box, nothing shows but when I hit enter I get only tag words that I typed. I've tried reinstalling FF and started in safe mode. Nothing fixes it. I've been trying to figure this out for months. I've tried Chrome and IE8. Evidently its not a browser problem. I'm using Vista Home Premium SP2. I'm sending this from my XP, no problem with it.

    cor-el
fixed, thanks for your help with this.
Please advise if there is there any reason to be concerned about changing this from the default setting.

  • How do I get Mozilla Firefox to download for GB version because all I keep getting is the US version, which is conflicting with AYI on Facebook.

How do I get Mozilla Firefox GB version to download? because all I keep getting is the US version, which is conflicting with AYI (Are You Interested) on Facebook. Which won't allow me to access my messages, browse and see who's viewed me on this site. But I have had Mozilla Firefox before (English version) and it as allowed me acces to AYI on Facebook. so I cannot understand why the US version won't allow the same access to AYI on Facebook?

You can download Firefox in many different languages.<br>
You can view the available languages [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ here].

  • I received an email supposidly from Mozilla Firefox Support with a link to fill out a survey. How do I find out if it is legitimate?

I have never seen such a complicated way to report/ask it this survey is actually from Firefox! There should just be a "spam" email address as with other companies where you can forward the email. Even the "gyration" at the bottom of this form to ask a question is a bit much for the average user.

Anything that comes from a @mozilla.org or a @support.mozilla.org domain name is safe. The site is set up to send notifications (like this one) to your e-mail from [email protected] Anything else that you receive that isnt from @mozilla or @support.mozilla is fake.
Also, yes. The survey feedback from our homepage is indeed real. I use AdBlock Plus so I don't see it.

  • No matter what I do I cannot get the uninstall wizard to come up. How do I uninstall Mozilla Firefox?

Program uninstall doesn't work, helper.exe doesn't bring up the uninstall wizard. I'm tired of the problems from it even though we don't have it as our default browser. I just want it gone! I've tried the suggestions in the chat forum to no avail.

#close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
Try to start Windows Explorer as administrator by right-clicking its icon. Go to those folders and right-click them. Click Properties and under "Permissions" make sure all read/write permissions are checked. If Windows doesn't allow to enable them, start Windows in Safe Mode.
Starting Windows in Safe Mode may prevent your computer from running any malware or tool that may be blocking some administration actions such as removing a folder, modifying a system file, uninstalling a program, etc.
To start Windows in Safe Mode under Windows XP, Vista or 7, press F8 repeatedly during reboot until a menu appears, and choose Safe Mode. Under Windows 8 you should start (Windows+R) msconfig, go to Boot and mark "Start on safe mode". Reboot your computer and Windows 8 will run safe mode.
Once on Safe Mode try to perform the action you were trying to do and check if it now works.
You should delete the following folders if present:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    C:\ProgramData\Mozilla Firefox
    C:\ProgramData\Mozilla
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Mozilla
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Mozilla Firefox
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla Firefox
Also cleanup your temporary and rubbish files with Windows built-in hard disk cleaner or alternatives such as CCleaner or TuneUP utilities.

I want to uninstall Mozilla Firefox from my MacBook Pro and am not sure how to go about it.  I am looking for specific, step by step instructions.  I have not tried anything yet (other than to try to find instructions on You Tube)
    Thanks for your help!

I want to uninstall Mozilla Firefox from my MacBook Pro...
Since the "FREAK OpenSSL bug" in the Mac which has been making the news over the last couple of days doesn't apply to Firefox but does affect Safari and other Mac browsers, you might want to hold off uninstalling for a bit. But if you must, drag the Firefox application to the Trash. Next, locate your Firefox profile in /Users/your user name/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles and drag that to the Trash too. Then empty the Trash.

  • How to remove the "Mozilla Firefox" folder...

Every time I upgrade to a newer version of Firefox, a new folder is created beside the old ones in Program Files (now I have 4, that is, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beat 8, 9 and 10).
How can I get rid of the old ones?

That is a Windows problem rather than a Firefox problem. The following link may help - http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/windows-7-access-denied-permission-ownership/
You can also try starting Windows in safe mode and see if it lets you delete the folders in safe mode - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
