How to become a Oracle professional?

Hello Everyone,
I am an IT engineer with 5 years of experience in Java programming (client side) and Weblogic server. I am not completely satisfied with my work because my area of interest is in Oracle technologies.
Can you please suggest me how i can get into Oracle now, which certification is best for my carrier growth. How soon i can change my technology. I have very little knowledge of BRM and R12 since the client applications i am working on is communicating to these databases. Is there any way for me to get into E-Business Suite or Oracle communications?

Recruiters Might not be Technical
Before a Technical person reviews your resume, it first must pass HR. Using online sites like, CareerBuilder or HotJobs, will cause HR Headhunters to look for you. Many HR Headhunters are not too Savvy with knowing what your certifications mean. When they skim your resume, they may be looking for, "SQL, RDBMS, Oracle" and other keywords. Preparing for Oracle certifications are excellent tools in learning how to use the technologies, but they can be very expensive and time consuming.
You mentioned that you want results quickly. Here is a quick resume builder that you can probably do in 1-8 hours. Why not document your existing skills with certifications? As you take these open book tests, you can search for answers and learn more. What you learn in these quick tests, will probably help you with Oracle certifications, down the road.

Search for online training institutes on the net. Each of these gives a demo. By attending the demo make a selection of the institute.
On Youtube too, there are lots of SD training videos. Check those.

Added: A good trainer will have the following:
1 - give business examples, to explain functionalities
e.g. intercompany sale process: the process from his experience, what are the key benefits to business etc.
IMP: Functional consultant is first about understanding the business process and second about configuration etc. in SAP
2 - patience
he should not be reluctant to answer your questions properly
he should sense how you are understanding the concepts, and take necessary actions
3 - mentor
what should be your next steps - how to prepare SD, how to prepare your resume, how to prepare for interviews etc. etc.

There are basically 5 steps involved, if you want to certify an integration with SAP solutions:
1. Apply <a href="http://www.sap.com/partners/apply">online</a> --> choose category "interface certification") and provide us some details about your envisioned integration, so the ICC can classify it correctly.
2. Review our <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/sdnservices/icc">ICC SDN pages</a> - where you find documentation on many pre-defined integration scenarios (quicklinks on the right). 3. Sign contracts with SAP for certification testing (the ICC will contact you based on your online application)
4. Work with an ICC consultant to prepare the certification test (one day of integration consulting is included as part of the certification engagement)
5. One-day integration certification test - often done remotely. With successful testing, your product will be listed in SAP's online Partner Information Center, you will receive a certificate and a logo to market the integration.
Since you are a consulting company, I would like to point out that your integration has to be a pre-packaged product, that can be implemented at any customer who runs that particular release of the SAP solution you integrate with. It should not be a custom-project.

They should be reported to the moderators.
Now, with newbies, I, at least, strive to be gentle, by for example, sending them an email asking them to read the Rules of Engagement, and to try to search first. I even suggest what keywords to use. But if they've a few hundred posts, then they'll get a stern rejection. Even then, some people just don't pay attention. sigh On the other hand, some people manage to get a stay of execution by showing, and proving, a desire to change. One of our best contributors came very close to guestification in the early days, but "heaven has more joy over one sinner who repents...!".
My goal as a moderator is to keep the forums clean and useful. Not just as a place to ask questions and get answers, but also a searchable resource. Otherwise, we might as well just delete all questions older than a month!

My client is Automobile industry.In the presales process my company delivers the goods to the dealer.On transit the goods are damaged.Instead of returning the goods the dealer him self repairs the goods and sends the credit memo to the company.The company will send the engineer for inspection and give the clearance certificate for the dealer.With reference to this we have to create the credit the customer.

Dear Prasad,
As you r not taking d goodS back (or dealer is not sending them back) thus it's not a case of a Returns. Also there is no issue with d invoice either thus even Invoice Corrrection Request will not b generated.
Thus it's a simple case of creating a Credit Memo Request for the required amount i.e the amount claimed 2 b spent by d dealer. This will obviously have a block which can b removed by d engineer who went for inspection (or some1else depending on d working of d organisation). Once the billing block is removed the dealer can b issued a Credit Memo in d usual way.

How many Licenses of Acrobat Professional do I need for Adobe LC PDF Generator

At our customer site we have purchased 6 licenses of Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and have recieved a license file with the keys for Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and Adobe Acrobat Professional. We bought the license from a reseller of the product. We understand that the Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator is a server based software and needs 1 license per CPU. Each of our server (Dev, Val & Prod) have 2 CPU's so we have sufficient licenses (6). We are under the impression that this would suffice. How ever we are not sure on how many licenses we need for Acrobat Professional.
Here is a brief description of the way we would use Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator. We are deploying a PLM system and one of the requirement is to render Word documents to PDF so we are using PDF Generator for this capability. On our Adobe servers we will install Microsoft Word, Acrobat Professional V9 Extended and the Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator. We will have around 150 users for the PLM system being deployed. The PLM system is a Web based system which means the PLM application server will be running on a Solaris server in our case. As part of the workflows in the PLM system, at the end of the workflow process, the PLM server would trigger a request to the Adobe server to convert the word document to PDF. The Adobe server processess the request and returns the PDF file that gets generated.
Based on the above usage of the system how many licenses of Acrobat Professional do we need? We will be installing Acrobat only on the server where we install the Livecycle PDF Generator. We had a call with our purchasing person today and she cautioned us that for Adobe Acrobat Professional we might need 1 license per user of the PLM system. She has asked us to check this with the Vendor of the product. Somehow I don't think it makes sense to purchase so many Acrobat Professional licenses even though we install only once.
So can someone tell me How does the licensing for Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator work? How many Acrobat Professional licenses we actually need? Is it based on the number of users in the system that is triggering the request? Appreciate your response on this.

You really should talk to your Adobe Sales Rep about this. There are all kinds of special deals, licenses and such for customers using LiveCycle. (For instance the license for PDFG may include Acrobat licenses for certain uses).

Hi sachin,
You can monitor your sattilite systems through solution manager.
If you want to monitor systems in solution manager means you need to configure those systems in solution manager.
Before including the systems in solution manager we need to create a solution using tcode DSWP.
After that you can include the systems using tcode SMSY.
For configuring the systems we have lot of phases its very difficult to explain here.
Try to login to service.sap.com and help.sap.com find the helpfull guides.

How to open a SAP Transactiion Screen from a link in Email

Hi Experts,
Requirement: Lets say upon creation of sales order 6000001 in VA01, an email is triggered to a person. In the email there should be a hyperlink which should open the order 6000001 (VA02 screen) without asking for any authentication.
How to achieve this SAP - Email integration. Do we have to use some groupware connector to achieve this integration? (CRM has got a connector I guess!!).

You know to tell which mail format are you using, whether is Outlook or Lotus. SAP Connectors need to be installed for the same depending upon the mail type.
