How to best address new SPAM issue in MAIL?

Hi everyone. So for some odd reason just over the past couple days I have started to receive an influx of spam (mostly ****/shopping related stuff). It is possible I had added my name to a message list somewhere and now everyone has my email. I have been reading the mail support docs here on the Apple site but it doesnt seem to be very detailes other than to have mail "learn" your prefs. I have been using Mail for the past year, I would have thought it would have "learned" by now
So my question is: Is there another way I can tweak my settings, or can I had a filter to help manage my SPAM even better?

I have this type of Rule set up, and working pretty well. I don't allow any messages it catches to be deleted until I do some summary level of checking, and those that are SPAM I then mark as Junk to aid the learning process.
Something was a little tricky about setting this rule up, and if you get stuck, I probably can remember what it was

This new security issue discovered recently had my wife and I getting busy updating our phones, great now I have a possible bigger issue. How do I address this SSL issue on my iPad 1 running iOS 5.1.1 . So far apple does not seem to be releasing anything for us iPad 1 folks.

• Are they trying to leverage us into newer iPads?

Wish I had the coin to just go out and buy a new iPad but my disabled income does not have room for that, the one I have now was given to me by a very good friend and business owner before I was diagnosed. I use my iPad for virtually everything needing computing power. I really need to figure this out as I do Alot of shopping online.

Since Apple does not discuss their customers or potential security breaches, I would assume that you are not affected. My assumption is based solely on the fact that if there were an issue with your device and security, either an update would be made available or an announcement would come from Apple advising you to migrate to a newer device.

This depends on your email provider but marking an email as Spam/Junk may automatically create a Spam/Junk folder.
Swipe from right to left on the email preview, select "More", and touch "Move to Junk"

Can't figure out how to delete addresses that autofill in the Mail To field

Can't figure out how to delete addresses from the address book that will automatically fill in an address after typing a few letters of a name. Quite a few people have changed their email address but I sometimes inadvertenly choose an old address just because I can't delete it.

Assuming you're using Apple Mail, you take those old addresses out of the Previous Recipients list. When in Mail, go to the Window menu, then Previous Recipients. Edit this list, it's everyone you've sent mail to, not just address book people.
Alternatively, when composing a mail message and seeing those old addresses, you should be able to click & hold over the name and a list of actions should appear, including "remove from previous recipients list" if they are not in your address book.

Two ways to do this:
1 in Mail, go the tool bar at the top of the screen, select Mailbox, then select New Mailbox in the menu.
2 in Mail, go the lefthand column, and at the bottom left you should see a plus sign and a cogwheel icon. Click on the plus sign and a new, untitled, mailbox will appear in the column above. Name this as you like.
You can "nest" mailboxes inside other mailboxes (eg inside a box I called "personal" I have individual mailboxes for each of my family and friends).
Then simply drag messages from your inbox to the appropriate mailbox in the lefthand column when you want to archive them.

Anyone know how to block yahoo's new option of messenger being in the
yahoo mail beta? I know we could just block access to yahoo mail, but
that hasn't been a real problem at this point (according to our logs
anyway) but now that messenger has been added there, it certainly could
become a problem.
Have already blocked webmessenger for yahoo and msn, are there others
now? we have the other general blocks for the clients (port
redirections etc)

How to move all already spam marked e-mails to spam folder?

Some e-mails are alread marked wich spam (there is a burn icon on it), but still in my main received folder. How to move them all to spam folder at once?

Did you try select the emails, drag and drop on the Trash Folder?
Try create a filter to move the emails marked as spam to the Spam folder.

How to add a "new" icon to the Mail toolbar?

When I open an email in Apple Mail, I often file it in one of many folders in the left-hand pane. I frequently use two monitors, and if reading mail on the attached monitor, it becomes tiresome to keep returning to the menu on the original monitor to select Message > Move to > (find folder and drop it in) ... for that matter, it is tiresome to return to the menu bar on the same monitor, as well.
Of course, my other option is drag and drop after closing the email or reading it without opening to allow me to select it and drag it to the correct folder.
My preferred solution would be to insert a "Move" icon on the toolbar and after reading the email, select the icon which would provide the same drop down list of folders as Message > Move to > . However, after the email is dropped in the folder the next (or previous) email would open in its place, depending on how I selected the configuration for this option.
Is this an operation I could create in Applescript, or is this a bit more complex than Applescript is meant to handle? I have not been successful locating a plugin for Mail to accomplish this task.
Being a web designer, I have a scripting (javascript, PHP, etc) background in addition to a past life as a programmer. This is something I would like to tackle myself if reasonable; however, I would like to know what I am up against. If I need to learn a bit of Cocoa and the IDE, so be it.

On my own website vdha.us, I am now getting many words that are purple and when you mouse over them, a new spamming window opens trying to sell something. IE-9 does not do this. How do I turn this off in firefox?

I prefer to use Firefox and very seldom use IE-9. but now I might be forced to remove Firefox 4.0.1 and resort to using IE-9 because of this situation.
I don’t know how spammers can use our website to exploit their spamming, but I can only imagine the complaints I am going to get from our Board of Directors and members about this.
Can you make them stop, or at least explain how it is that anyone can do this without our permission.
We have never allowed advertisement on our website and don’t plan on starting now.

The "MySearchDial" app needs to be removed in 4 places.
1) Go to "add / remove programs" in your windows control panel select mysearchdial and remove it.
2) Open your Firefox browser then click the Firefox tab at the top left and select options. You will need to change the start page settings back to your preferred start page.
3) Again under the Firefox tab select "add-ons". In the add-ons manager you will need to remove mysearchdial from both "plugins" and "extensions"
4) In your search bar (top right of address bar" use the drop down menu and select "manage search engines". You can restore your preferred search engine and remove mysearchdial from the menu.
This should remove all the components of the nuisance hijacker and restore your browser back to your preferred settings. If you are comfortable with a more in depth removal I would also suggest going to your "programs" folder within the "C" drive of your machine and deleting the "MySearchDial" folder altogether. However, only do this AFTER you have uninstalled it from your system and if you are familiar with this type of removal.

I’m planning to implement lync 2013 and I need to know how lync 2013 addressed the new certificates standard regarding the non-registered domain name like my domain “Domain.local” ?
So can I generate the certificate for lync services without “.local” domain or my certificate should include my lync servers internal names ?
Or should I consider changing my domain name to domain.com cuz lync certificate should have internal domain names?

For non-domain joined PCs, you need to install the internal root certificate on them.
For mobile phone and tablets, you do not have to install the internal root certificate, because they always connect to the Lync server through Reverse Proxy, regardless of where the origination
point is—internal or external.

How do create a new email address with my iCloud account

This may be simple but as usual with these things you usually do it once and never have to do it again!
I have has my mac mail address @mac.com since idisk was launched and then added a family pack with addresses for my kids and wife and when icloud launched i migrated all the addresses with no problem - but one of my clients wants me to create a new @mac (or @me.com) email address specifically for my invoices to send to there on line accounts system - my question is how do create a new email address for free in icloud - is it possible?
I remember the family pack gave you additinal options to create up to 5 email adresses? T
