How to bind to an Hslider with multiple thumbs?

OK folks,
I have a Hslider with three thumbs.
One thumb for the min of a range, a thumb for the value I
want to bind, and the third thumb for the max of a range.
My problem is data binding does not work when i use the
VALUES array property of the Hslider since I need to use a square
bracket operator to address the middle thumb.
When I compile, I get the warning:
Data binding will not be able to detect changes when using
square bracket operator. For Array, please use
ArrayCollection.getItemAt() instead.
Thing is, the VALUES property is just a regular array and not
an ArrayCollection.
Any hints?

    how do i take one layer with multiple selections and make those selections their own layer?

    Yes sir. It w was really hard to explain. It is discontiguous segments that are separated by transparent areas. And I want those non transparent areas to be on their own layer. I have a photo shop file that has a bunch of buttons on them and they are on a transparent background. It is one layer. I want to select all the buttons and put them on their own layers. I can do this manually by selecting a button and cmd Just to a new layer, but when I have 200 buttons it is a daunting task.

  • How do you get a line with MULTIPLE fields to WRAP ?

    How do you get a line with MULTIPLE fields to WRAP ?
    Good afternoon everyone...
    THE PROBLEM: Why doesn’t a line with multiple fields WRAP?
    HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE/WHAT I”D LIKE TO SEE
    If I have 2 fields on a line (this is now a hypothetical example and nothing to do with my actual report)….let’s call them field A and field B. And if field A has values of all ‘X’ and field B has values of all ‘Y’…then….the normal case would be (ignore dots – only for spacing):
    A……………………… B
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    But what if A is too long? I would want to see B wrap onto the next line like this:
    A……………………………………………………B
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYY
    YYYYYYYYYYYYY
    And similarly….if B is extra long, can the line print as:
    A………………………. B
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    I don’t want the case where B is long and I get:
    A………………… …B…
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    ………………………..YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
    I can see how you can wrap an individual field like that…but how can you WRAP a line of[b] fields within the frame so it wraps to the BEGINNING of the frame on next line?
    My SPECIFIC CASE
    I have a report that I have stripped down to a simple structure for the purposes of this explanation.
    My DATA MODEL has the main QUERY (for plant family and species data). The columns of the query are divided into 2 groups. The 1st GROUP contains the family data. Below that is the rest of the species data in a 2nd GROUP.
    Linking from the 2nd species group (above) is a new QUERY to extract REGION data based on the common key field. Under this 2nd query is another group with all the REGION columns.
    The LAYOUT MODEL has a group frame (the main , base one)
    On top of this is a repeating frame based on the 1st group (family data).
    On top of this is another repeating frame for the 2nd group (species data).
    On top of this is 2 Frames on the same line line. The 1st frame contains columns from the species group .
    The 2nd frame on this line is a repeating frame. The PRINT DIRECTION for this frame is ACROSS/DOWN. It repeats details of the REGION where the species is found. These columns come from this group come from the REGION QUERY and GROUP.
    All fields on the report line have variable horizontal elasticity.
    The problem is that when there is too much data on the line, it does NOT WRAP to the 2nd line.. It TRUNCATES.
    Can the line be made to WRAP????..
    In my current report, 1 of 2 things is happening:
    1) All fields print on the line until it hits the page boundary and then it just stops. Truncated!
    2) All fields print on the current line, then Oracle Reports throws a new page to print the REMAINDER of the long, input line
    But I would like a LONG line to continue printing onto the following line of the same page.
    I have tried all combinations of the elasticity fields and the ‘ADVANCED LAYOUT’ properties.
    I have been focussing my attention with this problem on the frames .
    We are using REPORT BUILDER V 6.0.8.26.0
    Thankyou to anyone who may offer assistance.
    Tony Calabrese.

    Steve,
    you gain 1 thing, but you lose something else!
    This thing is SO frustrating!
    Hey Steve! Good afternoon.
    I've done as you suggested....I have a long text boilerplate item - the only 1 on the line...and it has all the column in it.
    So it looks like:
    &col1 &col2 &col3 &col4 &col5 etc etc etc
    And the line expands nicely to each field's requirements.
    And when it gets to the right page boundary...it WRAPS to the next line! Beautiful!!!
    The only thing is that...when I had individual fields across the line I was able to create format triggers for those fields. And in doing so I was able to reduce the font and change the justification. I had to do that because some of the fields had to appear superscripted.
    So I wanted something like (ignore the dots):
    ...................................ppppp
    AAAA BBBB CCCCC DDDD EEEE FFFFFF
    So the field of 'ppppp' appeared slightly higher on the line than the other fields...
    I can't see how I can do this with a single TEXT field containing all the &COL values.
    Have you ever come across anything like this?
    Thankyou again,
    Tony Calabrese 12/4/2007

    Hi mpw101,
    If you load the papers into the ADF - Automatic Document Feeder, and then select Document to PDF then they will all be scanning into one file. Let me know if this works for you?

  • Help me on HSlider with two thumbs

    Hi Friends,
    I have a problem with HSlider. I am working on a slider with two thumbs. I have a requirement to overlap two thumbs. But the problem with overlapping is i can slide in reverse also. I need to restrict that. Please suggest me solution and save my time.
    I will explain with example:
    I have a slider to select classes from 1 - 12. For this i am using HSlider with two thumbs.
    Now a user can select class range between 1 - 12. i.e., 5-6 or 8-9 or 2-9 etc..
    I am giving an option to select 1-1 or 4-4 or 5-5 by overlapping the thumbs.
    Now the problem i am facing is : user can select 9-5 or 6-1 or 5-3 etc, because i am giving chance to overlap thumbs.
    But i have to restrict that behaviour... The user should not be able to select reverse.
    I tried to Override getSnapValue method to restirct that behavior. But it is not working as expected. Please suggest me a solution for this. Please share me if you have any example which is having same or similar behavior.
    Thanks,
    Venu S.

    Hi Bhasker,
    Thanks for immediate response.
    Here is my code:
    package
    import mx.controls.HSlider;
    import mx.controls.sliderClasses.SliderThumb;
    import mx.core.mx_internal;
    use namespace mx_internal;
    public class CustonSlider extends HSlider{
    public function CustonSlider (){
    override mx_internal function getSnapValue(value:Number, thumb:SliderThumb = null):Number{
    if (!isNaN(snapInterval) && snapInterval != 0){
    var val:Number = getValueFromX(value);
    trace("value min max val "+value+" "+minimum+" "+maximum+" "+val);
    //if (thumb && (thumbs.numChildren > 1) && !allowThumbOverlap)
    if (thumb && (2 > 1) && !allowThumbOverlap){
    var check_bounds:Boolean = true;
    var bounds:Object
    bounds = getXBounds(thumb.thumbIndex);
    var prevThumb:SliderThumb =thumb.thumbIndex > 0 ?
    //SliderThumb(thumbs.getChildAt(thumb.thumbIndex- 1)) :
    SliderThumb(getThumbAt(thumb.thumbIndex- 1)) :
    null;
    var nextThumb:SliderThumb =
    //thumb.thumbIndex + 1 < thumbs.numChildren ?
    thumb.thumbIndex + 1 < 2 ?
    //SliderThumb(thumbs.getChildAt(thumb.thumbIndex + 1)) :
    SliderThumb(getThumbAt(thumb.thumbIndex + 1)) :
    null;
    if (prevThumb){
    bounds.min -= (prevThumb.width / 2);
    trace("bounds.min "+bounds.min);
    // check if thumb is at minimum, if not we can ignore the bounds logic
    if (val == minimum)
    if (getValueFromX((prevThumb.xPosition - prevThumb.width/2)) <= minimum)check_bounds =
    false;}
    else
    if (val >= minimum)check_bounds =
    false;}
    if (nextThumb){
    bounds.max += (nextThumb.width / 2);
    trace("bounds.max "+bounds.max);
    // check if thumb is at maximum, if not we can ignore the bounds logic
    if (val == maximum)
    if (getValueFromX((nextThumb.xPosition + nextThumb.width/2)) >= maximum)check_bounds =
    false;}
    else
    if (val <= maximum)check_bounds =
    false;}
    trace("check_bounds : "+check_bounds);
    if (check_bounds)val = Math.min(Math.max(val, getValueFromX(Math.round(bounds.min)) + snapInterval),
    getValueFromX(Math.round(bounds.max)) - snapInterval);
    return getXFromValue(val);}
    return value;}
    I am calling the above snippet in my application.
    But it is not working as i expected. Let us consider two thumbs as left thumb and right thumb, the left thumb should not move to right and rite thumb should move to right thumb. I can achieve this functionality if i set the boolean property "allowThumbOverlap" to false. But if i did this i cannot select range between 1-1 0r 4-4 or 9-9 etc. I have to give a chance to select range between 1-1 or  4-4 or 9-9 etc

  • UI Design help / Slider with multiple thumbs?

    I've got an application which is trying to set multiple bounds
    around a single value. For instance, if my value was "temperature",
    possible bounds might be cold, temperate, hot.
    I want my user to be able to assign all of those ranges.
    My first thought was to use a slider with multiple thumbs. I could
    have 0 and 100 as min and max, say, with 2 sliders. Everything
    to the left of the first slider is "cold", everything between the two
    sliders is "temperate", and everything to the right of the second
    slider is "hot.
    Of course, JSlider does not have support for multiple thumbs.
    So, I was hoping someone could either suggest a freeware/LGPL
    widget that did *or* could propose a clever redesign to obviate
    the need for one.
    In reality, my problem is more complex -- multiple values with
    varying start values, end values, and number of thresholds. I'm
    using multiple sliders right now, and it's functional, but really fugly.
    Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!

  • How to configure one TREX host with multiple index servers ?

    Hi All,
    Does anyone know how to configure TREX on the one host,
    with multiple index servers ?
    Reason for this is to make better use of resources available on the host server(4 Gig, 4 Processor, Windows2003), to improve the search performance of
    our KM content for portal users.
    I am using TREX 7 and have not been able to do this,
    despite reading the Single and Distributed install
    documentation.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Andres

    Hi Andres,
    To make use of the RAM a Server provides you have to run two indexserver processes (each can then consume 2 GB);
    Proceed like this:
    1. Go to TREXdeamon.ini; check if section [indexserver2] is there (it is already provided, but not active in standard installation)
    2. In TREXdeamon.ini go to
    [daemon]
    references sections below
    programs=nameserver,preprocessor1,indexserver1,queueserver,alertserver
    and add indexserver2 here. Restart TREX; second porcess is then started; can be checked in TREX monitor in Portal as well
    3. To distribute existing indexes to the new process, start TREXadmintool and go to Index: Landscape
    Go to the last two columns and move the indexes (move master here/secondary mouse click)
    If you don't distribute the indexes the new index server process will be regarded when an new index is created.
    Hope this helps!
    cheers
    Bettina

  • How can I get a Album with multiple artists to appear as a single album with all of the tracks?

    How can I get a Album that contains multiple artists to appear as a single album with multiple tracks?  Also when I sync iTunes with my iPhone or iPad the Album appears as multiple albums with each artist.  The Album title is the same on each of the affected tracks.

    Quick answer:  Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist" or check the "compilation" flag.
    If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.

  • How can you develop photo galleries with multiple pages using the web module?

    Going through the web module I can see there are many options for developing a web page with a single collection of photos.  How can you develop a web site with multiple pages containing different categories of photos using the Lightroom web module?

    This thread will give you several ideas.

  • How can i author a DVD with multiple timelines so that "previous chapter" actually works?

    I am trying to burn a DVD with multiple short films. i used a timeline for each film and a playlist for the "play all" button that includes all timelines. Problem is when you press previous chapter it only takes you to the beginning of the current film youre watching, no amount of double or triple clicking back will work. How do I get around this?

    To mix the footage, you should be able to go back to PrPro, and create a 16:9 Sequence. Bring the 4:3 material into that, allowing the black bars to exist, and then Export that 16:9 Sequence as 16:9, for Import into En. You will have the pillarboxing with that 4:3 material, but that is what you want, correct?
    Good luck,

  • How can I compare single value with multiple value...

    Hello,
    I want to compare one value with multiple values, how can it possible ?
    Here in attachment I tried to design same logic but I got problem that when I entered value in y that is compared with only minimum value of x, I don't want that I want to compare y value with all the x value and then if y is less then x while loop should be stop.
    I want to do so because in my program some time I didn't get result what I want, for example x values is 4,5,6,7,8  and y value is  suppose 6 then while loop should be stop but here it consider only minimum number and its 4 here so while loop is not stop even y is less then 7 and 8. So I want to compare y value with all the entered values of x and if y is less then any of x values then while loop should be stop and led should be ON.
    Please guide me how can I do so.....

    Thank you very mach for your help..
    may be i have solved this ....i have made one change in my vi that instead of min. i select max and max. value is compare with the value of y and then if y is less then the max. while loop will be stop other wise its run continuously.
    this is working fine...
    any ways thanks again for your help and time...
    I have to agree with Lewis - his way is more efficient.
