How to bind UI control after having created view object

Hi,
I'm creating view object from an sql query
vo = panelBinding.getApplication().getApplicationModule().createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("ViewObj", strSQL);
and I want set model to a table
table1.setModel((TableModel)panelBinding.bindUIControl("ViewObj", table1));
but it doesn't work and shows null pointer exception

Take a look at the static createAttributeListBinding() methods in JUTableBinding.

  • How to change shape properties after having created one?

    Photoshop CC 2014 -- latest update as of October 06, 2014
    Windows 7
    How can I change a shapes properties after having created one.
    I have created a simple ellipse.
    When I drew the ellipse with the tool, I had the option for the fill color/style and stroke, etc.
    After I have created said ellipse, I wish to change its properties.
    I can use the Paint Bucket, gradient tool, etc for the fill, but is there way to get back to the original set of tools with which I created the ellipse in the first place?
    If I use Edit > Stroke... it adds a new stroke around the existing shape.
    If I use Edit > Fill... the entire layer is filled.
    There must surely be a way to reenter the tool set to edit an existing shape. No?
    Thanks,

    Hi everyone,
    Thanks for the helpful tips, advice, etc.
    I didn't explain myself very well--I apologize.
    However, with your tips I figured it out:
    When I create a rectangle or ellipse, I can later click on its layer and the Properties window appears with options to change their "Live Shape Properties."
    However, not so with the Polygon and Shape tools. With them, the Properties window shows only the Masks, but the Toolbar still shows some basic properties I can change.
    I was stymied by the above differences while working only on a Shape.
    I've attached two JPEG screenshots.
    I didn't need to change the actual shape, just the fill/stroke, etc.
    Later, I may wish to change the actual shape, but that appears to be done by simply creating something new.
    Thanks much!!

  • How to bind the value of textbox with View object's bind variable?

    Hi all,
    In my use case I need to pass the value of textbox in the jsf page to the View Object's bind variable.
    I should not hard code this in my backing bean. I need to configure in the Jdeveloper itself.
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 version. Kindly come up with your help.
    Thanks,
    Phani.

    Hi,
    You have to use Named Bind Variables(ExecuteWithParams)

  • After having created a disk image how to burn it?

    After having created a disk image (selecting HD for Output Device) in Compressor I get some files:
    1. ac3 and m2V files
    2. .img file
    3. PAR folder
    I guess the file I need to burn is the .img one. How can I burn it directly on a DVD? On Compressor itself?
    At this point can I get rid of ac3, m2V and PAR files?

    Insert a disk into your optical drive.
    Drag the img icon to the bottom of the left pane in DU. Select it.
    Click  on the burn icon in the menu toolbar.
    Depending on your OS version, your burn speed options may be different than they are here. FWIW I usually choose 2X.
    Good luck.

    how to bind bar chart(columns) to array list  object in c#win form

    Hi Ramesh,
    Did you want to bind list object to bar chart? I made a simple code to achieve binding list to bar chart.
    public partial class Form0210 : Form
    public Form0210()
    InitializeComponent();
    private void Form0210_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    BindData();

    List<int> yValues = new List<int>(new int[] { 20, 30, 10, 90, 50 });
    List<string> xValues = new List<string>(new string[] { "1:00", "2:00", "3:00", "4:00", "5:00" });
    chart1.Series[0].Points.DataBindXY(xValues, yValues);

  • A dynamic table based on run-time created view object -- please help!

    Hello!
    I'm trying to create a dynamic table based on an run-time created view object. All go ok, but table binding component take the first view/iterator state and don't reflect changes they have. Please, take a look:
    1. At run-time the view is being replaced by new red-only one based on query in application module:
    getQueryView().remove();
    createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("QueryView", statement);
    2. Page definition file contains an iterator (using iterator or methodIterator - doesn't matter) binding and table, which binds to the iterator, like:
    <methodIterator id="distributeQuery1Iter" Binds="distributeQuery1.result"
    DataControl="QueryServiceDataControl" RangeSize="10"/>
    <table id="distributeQuery11" IterBinding="distributeQuery1Iter"/>
    3. The page code uses <af:table>. But, if I use table binding (it's right) like this:
    <af:table var="row" value="#{bindings.distributeQuery11.collectionModel}">
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.distributeQuery11.attributeDefs}" var="def">
    the table will never changed (i.e. still show the first view instance).
    When I tried to use iterator binding directly (it's bad and cannot provide all needed features unlike CollectionModel from table binding) I saw that table works!
    (Code is somehing like:
    <af:table var="row" value="#{bindings.myIterator.allRowsInRange}">
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.myIterator.attributeDefs}" var="def">
    Why the table binding do not reflect changes in iterator? Or should I use different approach?
    Thanks in advance!
    Ilya.

    I got it to work! I used a hybrid approach comprised of some of your code and some of Steve Muench's AcceessAppModuleInBackingBean example.
    In the setBindings method, I execute an app module method that redefines the query, then I used your code to delete and recreate bindings and iterator:
    public void setBindingContainer(DCBindingContainer bc) {
    this.bindingContainer = bc;
    rebuildVO();
    The rebuildVO() method looks like the code you provided in your example:
    private void rebuildVO() {
    DCDataControl dc;
    DispatchAppModule dApp;
    DCBindingContainer bc;
    DCIteratorBinding it;
    OperationBinding operationBinding;
    ViewObject vo;
    DCControlBinding cb;
    try {
    bc = getBindingContainer();
    dc = bc.findDataControl(DATACONTROL);
    dApp = (DispatchAppModule)dc.getDataProvider();
    // Execute App Module Method to rebuild VO based upon new SQL Statement.
    dApp.setDispatchViewSQL();
    vo = dApp.findViewObject(DYNAMIC_VIEW_NAME);
    it = bc.findIteratorBinding(DYNAMIC_VO_ITER_NAME);
    it.bindRowSetIterator(vo, true);
    // logger.info("Remove value binding...");
    cb = bc.findCtrlBinding(DYNAMIC_VIEW_NAME);
    cb.getDCIteratorBinding().removeValueBinding(cb);
    bc.removeControlBinding(cb);
    // logger.info("Creating new value binding...");
    FacesCtrlRangeBinding dynamicRangeBinding =
    new FacesCtrlRangeBinding(null,
    bc.findIteratorBinding(DYNAMIC_VO_ITER_NAME), null);
    // logger.info("Add control binding...");
    bc.addControlBinding(DYNAMIC_VIEW_NAME, dynamicRangeBinding);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    And my App Module method that redefines the view object looks like this:
    public void setDispatchViewSQL() {
    String SQL =
    "begin ? := PK_BUsiNESS.F_GETDISPATCHVIEWSQL();end;";
    CallableStatement st = null;
    String ViewSQL = null;
    try {
    st = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(SQL,
    DBTransaction.DEFAULT);
    * Register the first bind parameter as our return value of type LONGVARCHAR
    st.registerOutParameter(1, OracleTypes.LONGVARCHAR);
    st.execute();
    ViewSQL = ((OracleCallableStatement) st).getString(1);
    findViewObject(DYNAMIC_VO_NAME).remove();
    ViewObject vo = createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(DYNAMIC_VO_NAME, ViewSQL);
    vo.executeQuery();
    } catch (SQLException s) {
    throw new JboException(s);
    } finally {
    try {
    st.close();
    } catch (SQLException s) {
    s.printStackTrace();
    When I run it I get my desired results. One thing I don't quite understand is why when the page is first rendered it shows the last set of records rather than the first. Now I have to figure out how to put navigation URLS in each of the table cells.
    Thanks for your help; I would not have gotten this far without it,
    Jeff

  • Create View Object programattically from XML input

    Hi,
    I have requirement to create view object from xml at run time in ADF application. is there any way to create view object dynamically in java program from xml?
    My requirement is to call a webservice and generate view object from the response of the web service call.
    Thanks

    I want to create view objects from different web services and the same will be available to the developer at the time of development. I don't want to create web service proxies for each of the web service. this will simplify the developers task to create proxy and data controls. the one thing developer has to do is select the service and base on the service the view objects will be created to develop pages accordingly.

  • Creating View Objects at Runtime for Validation

    In Oracle® Application Development Framework
    Developer’s Guide For Forms/4GL Developers tutorial there is a topic about Creating View Objects at Runtime for Validation.
    Is there any sample code available for this topic?
    Please help
    Regards
    S Karar

    I have created a helper method . The code is given below
    protected ViewObject getValidationVO(String viewObjectDefName) {
    // Create a new name for the VO instance being used for validation
    String name = "Validation_" + viewObjectDefName.replace('.', '_');
    // Try to see if an instance of this name already exists
    ViewObject vo = getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule().findViewObject(name);
    // If it doesn't already exist, create it using the definition name
    if (vo == null) {
    vo = getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule().createViewObject(name,viewObjectDefName);
    return vo;
    // Validation_bc4j_project of type ApplicationModule not found
    and created a validation method.
    The code inside validation method is given below.
    public boolean validateAvgMr(Number data) {
    String batch_catg = getQuality();
    // Get the view object instance for validation
    ViewObject vo = getValidationVO("bc4j_project.v_sqc0150");
    if (getTestStage()=="DOLLOP" && getQuality()=="DECO")
    // Set it's bind variables (which it will typically have!)
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("batch_catg","DECO");
    vo.executeQuery();
    Number dol_mr_lcl=(Number)vo.first().getAttribute("DolMrLclStd");
    setStdMrLcl(dol_mr_lcl);
    return true;
    return true;
    I have checked the validation view and it is returing value with the same bind variable value but is not returning any value when using inside this method validation.
    I have checked several times but can't find the fault in the code.
    Please help

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "Parameters" AS OBJECT ("SYS_XDBPD$" "XDB"."XDB$RAW_LIST_T","Param1" VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR),"NestedItems" "NestedItemsType")FINAL INSTANTIABLE
    I found that in order to build these types using constructors (to avoid PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'NestedItemType'), that I needed to edit these types (drop the xdb magic):
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "NestedItemType" AS OBJECT ("nParam1" VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR),"nParam2" VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR),"nParam3" VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR))FINAL INSTANTIABLE
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "NestedItemsType" AS OBJECT ("NestedItem" "NestedItemType")FINAL INSTANTIABLE
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "Parameters" AS OBJECT ("Param1" VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR),"NestedItems" "NestedItemsType")FINAL INSTANTIABLE
    I read on the forums of a hack to get a namespace added in the output:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE "Parameters" AS OBJECT ("@xmlns" VARCHAR2(4000), -- namespace attribute HACK
                                                           "Param1" VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR),"NestedItems" "NestedItemsType")FINAL INSTANTIABLE
    Putting it all together, I have:
    DECLARE
      v_Parameters    "Parameters";
      v_xml           xmltype;
      v_print_output  clob;
    begin
      v_Parameters :=  "Parameters"('www.cognera.com',
                                    'hello',
                                  "NestedItemsType"("NestedItemType"('one',
                                                                 'two',
                                                                 'three'
      v_xml := xmltype(xmlData => v_Parameters);
      select xmlserialize(document
                          xmlquery('declare namespace soap = "http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope";

        <Parameters xmlns="www.cognera.com">
          <Param1>hello</Param1>
          <NestedItems>
            <NestedItem>
              <nParam1>one</nParam1>
              <nParam2>two</nParam2>
              <nParam3>three</nParam3>
            </NestedItem>
          </NestedItems>
        </Parameters>
      </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    What I really want is:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:c="www.cognera.com">
      <soap:Header/>
      <soap:Body>
        <c:Parameters>
          <c:Param1>hello</c:Param1>
          <c:NestedItems>
            <c:NestedItem>
              <c:nParam1>one</c:nParam1>
              <c:nParam2>two</c:nParam2>
              <c:nParam3>three</c:nParam3>
            </c:NestedItem>
          </c:NestedItems>
        </c:Parameters>
      </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    How do I do this without having to programatically add the namespace using a custom XQuery function?

    See this similar thread, it should give you some better alternatives than the "@xmlns" hack :
    Add Namespaces via XQuery to an XML Instance
    For example :
    SQL> SELECT XMLSerialize(DOCUMENT
      2           XMLTransform(
      3             xmltype(
      4               "Parameters"('hello', "NestedItemsType"("NestedItemType"('one','two','three')))
      5             )
      6           , xmlparse(content
      7  '<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">
      8    <xsl:output encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" method="xml"/>
      9    <xsl:param name="ns"/>
    10    <xsl:template match="/">
    11      <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
    12        <soap:Header/>
    13          <soap:Body>
    14               <xsl:apply-templates select="*"/>
    15             </soap:Body>
    16         </soap:Envelope>
    17    </xsl:template>
    18    <xsl:template match="*">
    19      <xsl:element name="{local-name()}" namespace="{$ns}">
    20        <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/>
    21      </xsl:element>
    22    </xsl:template>
    23  </xsl:stylesheet>')
    24           , q'{ns="'www.cognera.com'"}'
    25           )
    26           INDENT
    27         ) AS "XSLT Output"
    28  FROM dual ;
    XSLT Output
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
      <soap:Header/>
      <soap:Body>
        <Parameters xmlns="www.cognera.com">
          <Param1>hello</Param1>
          <NestedItems>
            <NestedItem>
              <nParam1>one</nParam1>
              <nParam2>two</nParam2>
              <nParam3>three</nParam3>
            </NestedItem>
          </NestedItems>
        </Parameters>
      </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    You can store the stylesheet in the XDB repository or in a table and access it using a DBUriType.
    It then provides a concise way to both add the namespace and wrap the payload in the envelope.

  • How to create view object for a predefined Oracle view

    Trying to create an entity object with no success,,,
    I have an Oracle view(complex query in PL/SQL) that I need to encapsulate as a View Object then represent a column from this view as a '' | | linkcolumn | | ''
    then get a reference of the requestParameter "p" in this case that I need to use as whereclause parameter on another view object that is part of the ListPage.jsp.
    The application is basically a page of organization links that when click filters their reports as a list,
    In Jdeveloper's context webBean(RowSetBrowser list [org links] to RowSetBrowser [org report list])
    Can I implement this functionallity using the wizards or possibly writing custom code using the standard webBeans.

    Jerry,
    First, you can create an entity object based on an Oracle view. If you check the "Views" checkbox in the EO wizard, you'll see a list of database views. Then you can create a view object based on your entity object, and use it like any other view object.
    As for getting the page into the format you want, I suggest you start by generating your page using the BC4J JSP wizard, then customize the generated JSP.
    Thanks
    Blaise

    Nan:)

    Hi,
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAApplicationModuleImpl amImpl = (oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAApplicationModuleImpl)AM;
    OAViewDef viewDef = AM.getOADBTransaction().createViewDef();
    viewDef.setSql(sql.toString());
    viewDef.setExpertMode(true);
    //viewDef.setViewObjectClass("oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAViewObjectImpl");
    //viewDef.setViewRowClass("oracle.apps.fnd.framework.server.OAViewRowImpl");
    oracle.jbo.ViewObject oaviewobject=amImpl.createViewObject("TableVO",viewDef);
    if(oaviewobject !=null)
    TableBean.setViewUsageName("oaviewobject");
    TableBean.setViewAttributeName("TncId");

  • How to retrieve the values from a Transient View Object

    Hi Experts,
    I am using Jdevelpoer11.1.1.5.0. I created one Transient view object with attributes EmpId,Salary.
    In Backing Bean i will create rows for that view object and display it in the form of <af:Table> like Empid, Salary and an Update Link.
    Now my problem is i want to update the salary of the particular EmpId. For Example if the EmpId is 100 and salary is 10000 now i want to increase the salary to 20000 and if i click on the update button; i want to retrieve the particular employee details in my backing bean. How can i acheive this?
    Thanks in advance.

    A better approach would be to programmatically populate rows in the <VO>Impl.java by overriding the executeQueryForCollection(0 as specified here -
    http://adfpractice-fedor.blogspot.in/2011/01/adf-bc-programmatically-populated-vo.html
    You can write the logic to update the salary in an AM method then on click of Update or in the getter of Salry field if logic is valid for all fields...
