If you are running iOS 7 on the iPad, and you have Find My iPhone enabled on the iPad, then you can go to iCloud.com and under the Find My iPhone app, erase the iPhone. This will result in the iPad no longer being tracked by Find My iPhone, but the Activation Lock will remain in place. So, if the person who stole it attempts to restore it or to set it up, they will run into the Activation Lock and not be able to proceed:

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is filing a police report. Apple does not have any sort of process for recovering lost or stolen machines:

If you were running Lion and had activated Find My Mac you can log in and see if you can track it down. Find My Mac only works is the machine is on and has an internet connection. The odds of a thief having the machine on at the time you try to track it are pretty slim.

I located some suggestions for flushing the cache.
There are really three ways you can flush the DNS cache on your iPad.
1) Simply turn the iPad off and on again using the power button. A simple reboot will go a long way.
2) Turning on Airplane mode and then turning it off again will also clear the DNS cache and should be enough to fix the problem. Tap on your Settings icon, then swipe Airplane mode to On and then back off. Since Airplane mode disables the wireless features of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to comply with airline regulations, this will generally do the trick.
The third method would reset all your network settings and I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that right now.

I had been in Canada and obtained my i4s. I created my Apple ID using my normal email address. I returned to the States and still had my Canadian number. I was told the Canadian version of the iPhone 4s would not work with any phone company in the States, so I had to purchase yet another phone and create another Apple ID.
I have since deactivated the Canadian number. I cannot deactivate that Apple ID though. So I am stuck with two (2) Apple IDs. (not to mention 2 iPhone 4s)
I would very much like to only have one assiciated with the phone I have now. Is there a way to deactivate one of the Apple ID accounts?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I'm not sure you needed to purchase a new phone, you certainly didn't need to create a new ID.
However now you have done, you can't de-activate the old account, just log into your new one and stop using your old one.

Try DFU mode:

Like any manufacturer, they can do nothing at all.
Report it to the police and change your passwords.

My ipod had been stolen, the police found it.
When i got it back it has a passcode from the person who had it.. it also will not let me connected to itunes it comes up with " iTunes could not connect to the ipod touch "Tiana's ipod" because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter passcode on the ipod touch before it can be used with itunes. So Iv followed all the steps what the apple website said to do and nothing. I also followed the steps through find my iphone app from my moblie which that still wont work due to it needs to connect to the net to delete everything from the ipod to re start it!! which it wont connect to the net due to the wifi switch is off. I cant get in the ipod in the first place because of the silly *** passcode..

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum).
Apple can't help you find/lock a lost or stolen device. If you've can't locate it via Find My iPhone, or http://icloud.com on a computer, then you won't be able to try and locate it or remotely wipe it.
You've reported it to the police ? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. and contact your carrier.

While both the iPhone and the iPad use an Apple dock cable for charging, the iPad wants a 1100 mA charger, and the iPhone charger's a 500 mA charger. USB ports on newer Apple computers can switch into 1100 mA mode, but your average computer is going to put out no more than 500 mA and, possibly, quite less (for example, an un-powered USB hub will only put out 100 mA or so, and an iPad won't charge off that). The iPad will say "not charging" if it is trickle-charging (receiving less than 1000 mA of power).
If the problem persists when using the 1100 mA iPad charger, you need to take it to an Apple store and have it serviced or replaced. Bring the iPad charger that you received with the iPad as it may be that the charger is defective and not putting out 1100 mA.
If the problem is that it charges slow because it's being connected to iPhone chargers or PCs or older Macs, then it's not a problem with the iPad. It's charging, it just takes a long time because you are using an under-powered charger.

Are the PDFs and ibooks on your computer's iTunes ? If so then you should be able to re-sync them, if not then you can re-download ibooks for free as long as they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . The backup doesn't contain the contents of the ibooks app, so for them to be restored to the device they needed to be in your iTunes library.
