How to block attachment deletion in a DMS document

Hi gurus,
Does anybody knows how to block some users to delete the attachment in some DMS types? Is there any configuration that can be done to control this?

Hi Renan,
in the standard each user who is able to edit the document info record (enter CV02N) is able to delete the attached originals.
However a user is not able to delete originals if the document is set to a status of status type 'S' (locked status). Within this kind of status it is not possible to delete originals and change some other document data.
So you can also try to create a authorization profile where some users are only allowed to enter document info records with a non-locked status. So you avoid that some users are able to enter document info records which are not set to a locked status.

Maybe object C_DRAW_TCS or C_DRAW_TCD could be useful for this issue.

When was it "The inspector never did open."?
If you have deleted the document what was there to work with?
You create a document then go to:
Inspector > Document > Document > check Require password to open > fill in Password details > Set Password
Then when you go to open the document (after you close it) it will ask you for the password.

In addition to the last poster's suggestion - just so you know, it also depends on the email program the recipient uses as to how they will see any attachments - for instance, when I am using my Yahoo Mail, I am absolutely unable to view any attachment within the browser window - Yahoo forces me to download it; there is no way for me to check it (like a preview) to see if I want to download it or not.
And, FWIW: the window shown in the screenshot does not show on my version of Mail 5.1 (which is the latest for 10.7.2); the only one similar shows when viewing a message received with an attachment, not while sending one. So that must be a different version.

How to attach HTML content to DMS Document?

Hello,
I have a requirement in which I have to make a HTML file which contains the current Dispaly on screen, I have to attach this HTML file inside the DMS document.
For this I am doing following steps.
1 ) FM SAVE_LIST
2) FM WWW_HTML_FROM_LISTOBJECT, form this FM I am getting the Internal table which is containing the HTML content.
a) I am converting this internal table content ot first in XSTRING using FM SCMS_TEXT_TO_XSTRING
b) And XSTRING to Binary format.
3) After this I am creating a DMS cocument using FM CVAPI_DOC_CREATE
3) After DMS document creation I am using FM CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN to attach HTML file content to this DMS Document.
Everthing seems to be ok, but when I am using CV03N to view the document, its showing the HTML file bu not showing the original content(HTML)
Please help to find the problem, Is there any other way from which I could CHECKIN HTML content directly inside DMS document in HTML form without converting it to binary.

Hello,
A billing document that we reversed earlier was printed later. Billing document type is S1 and output type assigned to it is RD00. We don't want them the users to print the document that was reversed or cancelled. How can we make this document printed by only certain users? And do I just have to remove the output type if we never want the reversed billing documents to be printed?

i think removing the output condition type may work , after your printing is done , u can manually remove the output type in the
document itself. so that the document will not be printed by others.

How to block Protection removal of a PDF document from other softwares?

I have created a PDF document with acrobat reader and watermarked the document and protected the document. But the problem is that it can easily be unprotected (decrypt). After that the document is decrypted, there is no protection symbol on the document and the watermark was removed. Is there any way to block other softwares from removing the protection?

While we are at it, you can not create a PDF with Reader. I assume you meant Acrobat that is a different product. For most folks the PDF security is adequate, but it is not that full proof and that is apparently your concern. About the only way around the problem is DRM as mentioned. Also, be sure to add the copyright statement as that is enough to discourage most folks.

The closest I can come to it is if you have an mp3 music file, in Word select Insert>Movie. Select that file.

Block deleting DMS Document from user that is not initiator

I Want to Block deleting DMS Document ((CV02N)
form all users that are not the initiators of the Document or
Bolcking for all user
for that I created new user authrization for CV01N,CV02N
without authorization for delete
I created a DOC in SPS (production) No 3001591
but I successed to delete the doc through cv02n
in the buttom icon for delete original
There is an option to block any user or specific form delete document ?
If there is no option for that there is an user exit that I can used ?

By background is not possible (I don't know how can we do that) download thsi file to PC.
Then with the file in application server we can :
- to map application server directory in a drive unit of Pc
- to transfer with a ftp client from Pc
- rfcexec
But always the bapi can not download the file: it must be a process in Pc who transfer the file.
