How to block facebook on firefox

Can someone please tell me how to block facebook on Firefox? Windows 7

Hi,
I have succeeded on a WRT310N.
Go to the Access Restriction Screen
Enter a policy name under the appropriate field
Set staus to enabled (IMPORTANT)
Click the Edit List button and enter the PC(s) you want restricted. If using assign IP automatically and DHCP set the IP range that covers the DHCP range. If you want some PC's to have access and some no access, make the PC's you want to have access as a fixed IP address.
Set ACCESS RESTRICTION to allow
Set the schedule. (You may need to create multiple policies if you want to allow it part of the time
Enter the URL you want restricted in this case www.facebook.com (up to 4 sites per policy)
Click on save settings
Make sure that you are operating in the time frame you specified and test the blocking.
Since this policy will allow internet access only during the schedule specified, if the schedule was not 24 hrs, you may have to create another policy to cover the other time.

This model must use exact url blocking in which case blocking Facebook can't reliably be done.
If you had a dns server you could specify a bogus ip address for Facebook on your network.
I had to move to the AE series routers because the parental control is the best and blocking Facebook was easy with only "facebook.com" as the url.

Currently SA500 supports content filtering only on port 80. You can block the https access to facebook in firewall. Perform NSlookup for facebook and create a firewall rule blocking https access to the IP addresses listed by the NSlookup.

Can´t find how to block facebook when end user tries using https, is not even register the blocking access in CSC log, all https filtering options are enable. Can you give me some ideas how to do this.

You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
* Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
* Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.

It's an encrypted connection between the computer and facebook. The router cannot see the URL accessed. The router cannot know that you access a facebook URL.

If you value your job, it isn't a good idea to install unapproved programs on company owned hardware. A smarter approach would be to use Firefox Portable on a USB stick, as long as the USB ports aren't blocked or disabled. But that might not be approved either, but it is safer than installing Firefox on that PC.

One way is to uninstall the app. Another is to "disable background data" from (Android) Menu-Settings-Mobile Data-scroll down to FaceBook and tap scroll down to Restrict background Data. This will keep it from using data in the background, but NOT in the foreground. Only way I know to keep it from using data is to keep the app off the device.
