How to bold a one word in a textfield

I would like to bold a few randomn words in a sentence used as a rawvalue in a textfield.
e.g. "This
word should be bold"
Does someone know how to acheive the above through scripting

Hi Aditya,
I am not sure if this is much help to you. I do not know how to script what you are looking for.
However you can change the field format for each of the textfields. In LC Designer 8.2 select the textfield and go to the Object / Field window. Then change the Field Format from "Plain Text Only" to "Rich Text". When using the PDF form, you can change the format of the whole textfield or individual words. For example "Control + B" will give you bold text, "Control + U"; underline, "Control + I"; italic. When a field is active you can press "Control + E" and this will allow you to change the font type and size, etc.
If you are using an earlier version of LC Designer, then you have to make two changes in the Object window. From memory one is in the Field tab and the other in the Binding tab.

My client made a one-word mistake in her presentation that is part of my video project. I don't want to ask her for another take, since she spoke for 15 minutes. What is the best way to correct the word? Should I try to make a very short voiceover that covers the mistake?

There are several ways to do this.
Would your client agree to read this sentence over? Or maybe the whole paragraph? This could be either in video or audio. This gives you a lot more flexibility than a voiceover, although it would have the same effect.
First the video option.
You can import this new video into the Event. Then drag the video for that sentence into the project, and drop it where the sentence begins in the main video. A pop-up munu will appear. Select CUTAWAY. Alternatively, when the popup menu appears, you can select AUDIO ONLY. *This way, she would not need to be dressed the same in the second take. Note: if you do not see the popup menu woth these options, go to iMovie/Preferences and enable te advanced tools.
You may need to adjust the volumes. You can turn up the volume of the Cutaway clip to 100% using the audio inspector. You will want to select the portion of the main clip that contains the word or sentence that you don't want to use. A yellow border should be around it after you select it. Then EDIT/SPLIT CLIP. Select the clip that has the word and open the audio inspector. Set this volume to zero.
Audio Option:
If your client re-reads the sentence in audio, AIFF is best. Drag the AIFF file into iMovie and drop it where the sentence begins. You can drag to the left or right later to line it up exactly.
Voiceover option:
Or you could do a voiceover, if your client is with you at your Mac. Voiceover Tutorial here.

How can I sort one column of words and not have it affect the other columns? I have opened the inspector to the edit columns and rows under Table. It will sort the column, but then it changes the other colums as well. I know that if I use Numbers, it will work, but I want to know how to do the same thing in Pages.

Numbers sorts full rows on values in selected column(s). The technique for sorting a single column is essentially the same as Jerry is describing for Pages tables—separate the (data in the) column to be sorted, sort it, return it to the table.
In Numbers the actual column may be separated from the original table, sorted, then returned. In Pages, the data must be extracted, sorted, then pasted back in, overwriting the unsorted data (if it was left in the original table).
iWork tables follow a database model in which each row is a Record, and each column holds a Field within the records.
As evidenced by the current question (and several similar questions arising in the Numbers community) that model doesn't apply to the way some users, especially some who come in from the MS Excel world, use tables.
With Excels model—islands of data on a single large table, the ability to sort one or a selected few columns of data makes sense. One 'island' may comprise only cells AA21:AH50. Sorting that small 'table' should be possible without disturbing the rest of rows 21-30, which are probably part of one or more other 'data islands' in the sea that is a MS Excel spreadsheet.
In Numbers, each of those 'islands' would be a separate Table, and that Table would be sortable without disturbing other Tables in the document.

I have two pdf docs that I used Acrobat to convert to word docs. How do I extract one page from one doc to insert into the other doc?

I have two pdf docs that I converted to Word Docs using Acrobat Pro. How do I extract one page from the first doc and insert it into the second doc? When I "select all" it grabs the entire document. I need to take pages out, put other pages in, and edit some of the text.

Try triple-clicking in the text that you want to select--it can sometimes be tricky to select text in a converted document. If that doesn't work, it could be that the PDF document was created from a scanned document, and OCR wasn't enabled when you converted the document. (However, OCR is enabled by default when you convert via the ExportPDF website.)
If you're unable to select text by triple-clicking, let us know. I would be happy to take a closer look at your files.

How to create hyperlink on one word inside a paragraph?

I have a paragraph of text coming from the database as a CLOB, and I need to add a hyperlink to one word in the paragraph. I have done this for an entire field, but not one word inside the paragraph. Any ideas on how to do this?
The output file is a PDF. The version of Oracle Reports is 10g.

Without modifying the Table Interface I solved my problem.
Earlier I mentioned that the exceptions were not highlighting when created in BEx. the reason is I gave negative % range -10 to -1000.
But when I changed that range as -1000 to -10, It worked fine. I created the same exceptions for all the 7 queries in BEx. So all those execeptions are automatically highlighted the result in Portal.

I need to find a word, prefferably using GREP or simple Find/Replace tool.
Sometimes, when I get source text to paste into InDesign, some word's format is messed up. First letter is italic and rest is regular or otherwise (or any other font format). How can I find such words automatically. For example:

It’s best to type your sentence and then click on the hand tool to deselect the Type tool
Click the type tool again and type the word you wish to rotate (it will be on a separate layer.
Select the layer with the full sentence and add a layer mask.
Choose the brush and paint with black to mask the word in the sentence.
Select the layer above with the single word and use the move tool to rotate and position it. Then save.

How do I enable Firefox 4 to do a search on more than one word (e.g. "yahoo mail") without receiving the error message "the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded"?

After loading Firefox 4.0, I changed the address bar search engine to Google Search by Name, so I'd be taken straight to the most relevant webpage when I type in a word.
It works fine when I type in one word, but if I use a search with more than one word (e.g. "yahoo mail" or "google maps") I get an alert saying "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded". Is there any way I can fix the address bar to accept multiple word searches?
I've tried disabling all my add-ons, but it didn't make any difference.

Hi, this should sort out your problem:
1. Type in "about:config" into the address bar, this will open the settings menu. Click on "I'll be careful, I promise!"
2. Search for "keyword.URL" in the filter bar.
3. Enter "http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&q=" into the value field.
I'm no expert, but I had the same problem which got on my nerves after being so used to being able to type anything in, and following these steps fixed it.

Is it possible to highlight one word with iWeb?
So far I am able to only highlight a whole paragraph.

I tried this and it appears to work. In iWeb open and the page you want to add the highlight go to the bottom of the page and choose shapes. The rectangle will work. This will show up in the middle of your page. Drag it down and reshape it over the word you want to highlight. Click on the inspector icon on the bottom right of the page and highlight the shapes icon. Click on the color fill and choose bright yellow (or what ever you like). The word you want to highlight will be "hidden" behind the yellow rectangle. Choose the opacity function in the same window as the color fill and move it to check if the rectangle is where you want it placed. With the yellow rectangle highlighted go up to the menu bar on the top of your screen and choose arrange- move to back. Bingo. Sounds hard but its not. Just verbose to describe.

Page Setup, including page orientation, is done in the File menu. The setting applies to the whole document. As Peter says, you can rotate the contents of a page (not including the text layer of a word processing document).
As an alternative, you could use Numbers, where Sheets are empty canvases onto which you may place images, charts, tables and text boxes, and where page orientation may be set for individual Sheets. The main tradeoff is that you lose many of the built-in word processing and page layout features of Pages.

How do I generate a Word document and a PDF from Help files?

I am new to RoboHelp HTML, and am using version 8. I updated some Help files, and now I want to generate output. Here are my questions/ or the process I used:
To compile the help, I clicked Generate Primary Layout. Is this correct? I noticed that the date stamp on the xpj file has not changed. The date is still from many months ago. (Why is that? Should it show a recent update date?) However, the files that I updated do reflect the dates when I made the updates. These include art files, an hhp, and htm, js, ldb, pss, cpd files.
To generate a pdf, I clicked Generate PDF. I was not able to generate the PDF at first, but then, I enabled macros in Word 2007 (Trust Center Settings > Enable all macros...and clicked the checkbox, Trust access to the VBA project object model), and clicked Generate PDF. At the end of the generation, I got this error in Word: Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The info you were working on might be lost. Word can try to recover it for you. I closed the dialog and Word generated several blank documents. Microsoft Office Diagnostics was run and found one problem and corrected it. Despite the error message, a pdf was generated. (If you could give me any insight on why I got the error messages, that could be helpful to know).

Welcome to our community
Note that RoboHelp is capable of creating a variety of layouts. WebHelp, FlashHelp, AIR Help, Microsoft HTML Help, JavaHelp, Oracle Help, ePub and more.
Any of these layouts may be nominated as the Primary layout. So when you generate the Primary layout, you get whatever has been configured as the Primary layout.
Only certain actions will result in a change to the .XPJ file. The actions are indicative of major changes to the project. So I wouldn't fret the fact that the date time stamp wasn't updated.
Indeed the Printed Documentation Single Source Layout recipe is what you use to create PDF. Generally what happens is that RoboHelp creates a Microsoft Word document as an intermediate file type, then creates the PDF from that. As you might imagine, there are a host of things that can go wrong during the process. I might suggest that you first get a Word document to generate cleanly. Then once you do that, focus on PDF. I know that I typically gen a Word document and stop there. I just open Word and use Word to create the PDF.
If you look at the properties for the Printed Documentation Single Source Layout recipe (View > Pods > Single Source Layouts then right-click the Printed Documentation layout and choose Properties) you will see that PDF, Word or both are options at the top of the dialog.
Hopefully that gives you a nudge in the right direction.

Search Query Help – more than one word

I have been struggling with this for weeks. I used Dreamweaver to set up a lot of this and I think it is hindering me as I make changes to the code.
I have a search interface that takes the input from a user (in the form of text) – searches though the db to match words – then return the results based on how many times the input is located in the db.
I have this working very good for a single word input. If you search for one word only – it works great. But, if you try to input two words together – it returns no results.
I have tried several different things to get this to work – like exploding the input then searching the db for each word in order. The problems I get, I think, is that this conflicts with the code Dreamweaver wrote – I think where the code requests the value string. But, each time I think I find a fix for one error – it creates several others – not just in the php code above the header – but in the php code in the body when I try to retrieve the results.
It seems that I am just going around in circles. But, there has to be simple way to search for more than one word in the db – count the matches – add the matches from each search together – then return the results ordered by the largest number of matches.
I have even tried using a foreach statement – but received errors that I have never seen before. Then after researching and trying to fix those errors – just received more and more errors.
Please help. If it cannot be done given the code I have – then please point me in the right direction to rewrite the code.

Based on what you explained as your requirements, it is very easy. I'll just speak in psuedo-code. You will need to parse the input into seperate words. If there can be an unknown number of words you can store those in a string array.
Then just use the array to build your where clause using the IN predicate or using the = and OR operators.
Select count(*), keyword
where keyword in (term[0], term[1], etc)
group by keyword
order by count(*) desc
If this is not what you meant, then you will need to explain your requirements in more detail. As you have discovered, once your requirements exceep the capabilities of DW's behaviors, you will need to become very familar with sql and your server side scripting language. If you don't understand what the DW code is doing (as evidenced by your comments in the attachment), then you really are not ready to start modifying it.
