How to bounce (stop/start) trex servers

We need to bounce trex servers for our client. What are the steps in stopping/starting Text Retrieval and Information Extraction (TREX) servers?
We need immediate help on this. Thanks!

no luck as yet! Working at home office and early starts are awful with the Chime so loud!!!!
I tired the adding programme to Terminal...did not work.

I found last night the 'Startup Pref Pane' in System Prefs... this should stop the 'Chime Crime'

How to create stop/start effect for tilt/shift

Hi I was wondering how to get the animated look I have seen with tilt/shift videos. I want to record my scenes using my Canon 5D Mk2 in video mode rather than use time lapse and increase my shutter count. So after I have shot my video with my Tilt/shift lens I want to create the jittered video effect in FCP, any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

you can maybe have a play with the Video Filters > Video > Strobe effect, see if that gets you where you want to go

I am not sure I understand what you are asking.
At one time websites were text only, now nearly every website contains "Images" of some kind, even if it is only the icons etc used on a page.
*Try View-> Page style = No Style
 you will note a dramatic change in most webpages
* you may be interested in looking at[[Options window - Content panel]]
You could even be asking about how to use a very slow dial up connection where images cause a problem, due to bandwidth/speed considerations; whatever it is I think we need a bit more information please.
Perhaps you could give an example of what you are trying to do, saying what the website is and what the image is.

Unable to start managed servers from Admin Console "FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE"

I recently installed WebLogic 10.3.5, JRockit, and ECM 11.1.1.5. I'm to the point where I am trying to get Nodemanager configured so I can stop/start managed servers through the admin console. I have the following listed in Environment > Servers:
AdminConsole - running
IBR_server1 - FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE
managedServer1 - FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE
UCM_server1 - FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE
I followed the tutorial at http://blogs.oracle.com/jamesbayer/entry/weblogic_nodemanager_quick_sta to get to the point where the AdminServer starts when the server reboots, so I think Nodemanager is working there. If I view Machines > Monitoring, it says Nodemanager "Reachable." However, when I go to restart IBR_server1, managedServer1, or UCM_server1, I get the FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE status. I am using the weblogic server's IP for the machine name/host because our DNS is still screwed up. Would that have any affect on this?
I'm completely unsure what to do now. The Nodemanager log shows:

and
E:\oracle\middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.domains
The domains file contains
base_domain=e\:\\oracle\\middleware\\user_projects\\domains\\base_domain
Which is correct.
Any idea what I'm missing here? I can provide more detail if needed. Thank you.
EDIT: I should add that I can start the UCM and IBR managed servers using the start up scripts on the server, but that's not what I'm after. I want everything controlled through the AdminConsole and want to be sure that when the server reboots, all the managed servers come back up correctly.

I did a bit of digging, and it seems I have an issue with -Xnohup... I've verified this arugment exists in all of my managed servers properties files, yet it still bombs when I try to restart from the webLogic console. I should note that if I start fresh from the server, I can start all my manager servers using WLST nmStart().

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page.
Delete the storage\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default set.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to the default value to re-enable the snippets.

How do I stop Pages 5.2.2 from opening on start up

When I start up my MBP, Pages opens along with Safari. It sits there in the Dock and does the "bounce" about 50 times driving me nuts. How can i stop it from opening. I can't find anyplace to do this in settings.

Sounds like it is trying to open a damaged file, hold down the shift key when starting Pages and it will ignore the previous document.

How to start managed servers simultaneously using WLST?

Hi folks,
I am trying to write a simple script to provide a simple way to bounce my env, I am pretty much done. However, my script now starts (and stops) the managed servers sequentially which is not what I wanted.
I am wondering if there is a way to start (and stop) the managed servers within a domain in parallel as I can definitely do that using Admin Console.
I do have an idea in mind:
Write a simple python script to start/stop a single managed server, then use another shell script to trigger the python script in background mode.
But I think this approach is really ugly, and am wondering if there is a native way to do that in WLST.

This does not solve my problem, what I am trying to do is to being a an indefinite about of managed servers at the same time, not all the managed servers.
For example, suppose I have 5 clusters in a domain, and there are 3 servers in each cluster. I might want to bring up all the major servers first at the same time,
which mean to bring up one server in each cluster at the same time.

Do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.

Bing is taking over Firefox - auto starts on start, or grabs the home page if I start it - how do I stop this? Go to Safari?

Every few months, Bing takes control of Firefox:
When I start the computer, Bing autostarts FF and then makes itself the home page.
If I quickly close FF - I am really upset about this Bing thing and will never use it, so I shut down the autostart FF - and then open FF myself, Bing will open as the home page.
When I check options Gmail is set as the home page. When I check bookmarks, there is nothing for Bing.
This is a pretty egregious MS malware program.
How do I stop this, and keep it from re-occurring? Note that I've already tried the resetting of FF, which means I must reinstall all extensions. That works but only for a few weeks. The Bing malware is back. How do I get rid of this, once and for all? Or could Mozilla have a legal chat with MS, since they are "grabbing" your software in the worst malware fashion.
I use an ASUS F502c. It came with Windows 8; I've upgraded that to 8.1

How do you stop Audigy programs from loading at start

I posted yesterday regarding my sound card (Audigy 2 ZS Platinum) taking up a large amount of CPU.
I went into my BIOS and basically assigned every free IRQ to my PCI cards and yet again changed the slot that the card sits on. Everything is back to normal and I think I might know why, which is where my question comes in.
Thankfully, XP allows me to use the card without rebooting. If I do reboot, I have a feeling 3 things will happen.
. A pop up window will appear at the top of my screen that allows me to control certain aspects of the card.
2. A program will appear in my task bar (white with blue headphones) which allows me to run Creative Programs.
3. My CPU will jack up again.
Because I didn't have to reboot when i re-installed the card, these two programs are not running.
My question is, how do I stop those two programs from loading at start up? I've closed them down in the past after a reboot and it does not help, so obviously something is loading with them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I stop iTunes from starting up in the other active Windows sessions?

I have multiple (3) user accounts on a windows (Vista) computer. When I start iTunes from one account iTunes wants to also start up on each of the active windows accounts and continues to attempt to start iTunes after some time period (90 seconds?).
I get a error screen on the attempts for the User that should not be starting iTunes that reads:
You cannot open the application "iTunes" because another user has it open.
Ask the other user to quit the application, then try again.
I want iTunes to run within only one account. How do I stop iTunes from starting up in the other active accounts?
