How to break up a picture

TIA for your help! I want to break up/crop/cut a picture into thirds, quarters, fifths, etc, and then eventually frame each piece and hang the pictures together to create the whole picture. Is there an easy way to do this in Light Room 5? THANKS!

I don't use attachments too much, but there is a way of handling your situation. It might help to know about your email structure. You haven't provided too many details, so I'll do the best with what I have.
Most users access their emails from two main sources: an ISP or an external provider like Google. If you use an ISP, like ATT, it's relatively easy to deal with your email problem. Log onto your ATT webmail, and you can delete the problematic email at its source. Delete the messages one by one, or delete blocks of emails by highlighting them and deleting. In the future, stay up to date with your emails to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Some users use an external provider like Google, but the solution is the same. Delete messages one by one, or in blocks, until they're all gone.
There's a trick to help you delete emails more easily: The next time you use Mail, make sure it's offline. You won't be able to download additiional email, but you'll be able to process the mail you already have on your computer. You can't get an "infinite loop" if you stop the flood of emails beforehand.

I have an early 2008 MacBook. I had been using iPhoto on this MacBook until I purchased an iMac in 2011, at which time I copied my iPhoto Library from my MacBook to my iMac. Then I realized that my pictures and music were consuming the memory on my iMac, so I moved iPhoto and my iTunes LIbrary to an external Hard Drive. Now I am in a situation where I do not have access to my iMac, but will need to use my MacBook as my main computer for the next year. So, I have my iPhoto on an external hard drive and I plug it into my MacBook and see the iPhoto Library folder, but when I click on it, it opens up the old iPhoto that is still existing on my MacBook and will not show any of the new pictures?! At first I thought it wasn't able to show up anything because my MacBook was running two operating systems behind what my iMac was when I was running my iPhoto Library from that computer. So, I upgraded to OS X 10.7.5 and upgraded the existing iPhoto on my MacBook to iPhoto '11 version 9.4.3. However whenever I plug in the external hard drive and click on the iPhoto Library folder to open it up, it is still just opening up the already existing iPhoto on the MacBook (with my older pictures) rather than the iPhoto on the hard drive (with my newer pictures). How can I access my pictures that are on my external hard drive?

Thank you for your advice. I followed your directions, but came up with the same results. However, I did discover that whenever I open up the iPhoto Library that is already existing on my MacBook a certain set of pictures shows up. But then when I open up the iPhoto Library from the Hard drive another set of pictures shows up. BUT not ALL of my pictures are showing up on the iPhoto Library from the hard drive. At least the last two years of pictures are not showing up?! Actually, it appears that all the pictures are there from when I started using iPhoto about 5 years ago up until around the time that I got my iMac desktop computer and started using that (2 years ago). I have noticed that more recent videos I have made are showing up in a folder on the hard drive, but will not appear when I open up iMovie?! If you want just the originals, then you can go into the Aperture library (right click on it and do "show package contents"). Inside is a directory called "Masters" and you can find the original files in a bunch of subfolders.
But... you'll lose all adjustments, keywords, and other information, and just have the files as they were imported originally from the cameras.
Easiest is probably to buy Aperture and update everything, and then migrate to the Photos application down the road if that's what you want. Aperture 3.0 came out in 2010 (five years ago!) so it's not like you've upgraded in a while

You should have an program called Photo Booth in your Applications folder. Launch it, turn the MacBook towards what you want to take a picture of (using the screen as a viewfinder) and click on the camera button (or press command - T on your keyboard) to take the picture.

If you mean backed up as part of an iPhone backup in iTunes? If so, you would have to use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup, such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

You can only point iTunes at one folder for syncing to the iPod. You can however selectively choose which subfolders of the main folder are included. I use a Photos folder inside iTunes\iTunes Media and move the folders that I want on my device into that, but the parent folder could be anywhere that suits you.

The only cable I can find with lightning and usb is the apple camera adaptor but it is £25 from Apple which is a bit expensive if it will not work. Some peoples reviews seem to say this will not work, I can not use the camera reader by Apple as this only takes SD cards and my camera takes XD and compact flash cards. I have realised that you cannot use this cable on a card reader which is a shame and means taking more cables on holiday with you and more likely to get lost. This is so frustrating as one of the reasons of buying the iPad was to use, to transport photos whilst away instead of having lots of cards which do get lost and damaged. I hope someone can help as there seems to be a lot of confusion as to what works in cases like this.
