How to bring back project to iMovie project window?

I created a project and want to edit more later days. Meanwhile I moved the project file to another hard drive to make more space on the original hard drive.
When I open iMovoe the title of file is showing, but no content. How can I bring the project back to iMovie project window?

First, move the Project back to the Movies/iMovie Projects folder on your Mac. In other words, move it back where it was to begin with.
You should now see it in iMovie and be able to edit it, unless the Event folders were moved as well. If they were moved, move them back to Movies/iMovie Events.
Now, you can move them back to the external drive and have them still work, but you need to do this from within iMovie.
Your external drive must be formatted as Mac OS Extended (journaled). FAT 32 or NTFS drives will not work.
In iMovie, click VIEW/EVENTS BY DISK. Your external drive should show up in the Project Library and in the Event Library in iMovie.
To move the Project back to the external drive, hold down the Command key while dragging the icon for the project to the icon for the external drive in the Project Library.
If you want to move the Events as well, you can right click on the Project (which is now on the external drive and select Consolidate Media...

There is no way to connect two iPads to each other through a cable. Everything would have to be wireless or you would have to use iTunes to move data around.

Select the button that's on the menu and delete it
Make a simple black graphic in any basic graphics application and fill it with black. Just drag the graphic into the menu to replace the background.
In map view place your video in the first play box

The first thing to check is whether he has moved the files out of the Movies/iMovie Projects folder. If they are not there, imovie will not see them.
If iMovie does not see several projects, it could be a preferences issue.

It is also possible for a project to get corrupted. In this case, I would trash preferences and restore the project from Time Machine as you suggested.

How do I burn a simple iMovie project to a dvd ?

I am so frustrated every time I make an iMovie project and am ready to burn it to a dvd whether for a client or family/friends because I struggle each time to know what the steps are. When I finally get one burnt it is just by accident it seems and I go through so many dvds it's not funny. I don't like to use DVDR's that are printable because when they don't work I have wasted one of them, and I want to make professional looking dvds with a picture or logo printed on the dvd. If I type in BURN IMOVIE DVD or anything at all like that it leads me to dead ends. I eventually seem to burn a dvd but it seems it is only by hit and miss and a lot of wasted dvdr's. I would like to transfer my unfinished iMovie project from my desktop to my laptop, so I can work on it while traveling. I know I could export it as a movie, but it's not finished, so what I'd really like to do is transfer all the elements of the project in its current state so I can continue to work on it. Click on the photo to select it. A yellow border should be around the photo. Now, right-click and choose DELETE SELECTION. Or you can use EDIT/DELETE SELECTION from the menu.

Command + R for OS X Recovery is for restoring from a backup.
You need to repair the startup disk.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you can access the builit in utilities to repair the disk.

First thing, Make sure your external hard drive is formatted as a Mac OS Extended hard drive. To find out, go to the desktop hold down the Control Key and click on the Hard drive icon. Choose > Get Info
If it isn't already formatted that way you will want to erase the hard drive using Disk Utility which is in the Applications > Utilities folder on your Macintosh's hard drive.
Once the hard drive has been reformatted, go to View Menu > Group Events by Disk
This will allow you to see you hard drive in the Events Library and allow you to drag items there. Since you haven't started editing yet, just Move the Events to the External Harddrive. Also, the hard drive will also appear in the list at the top Project Library too. If you want to copy a Project to the hard drive, drag it from where it is now in the Project Library to the hard drive icon. A dialog box will appear:
You will want to copy the project and the Events to the hard drive. Once they are safely copied over you test them to make sure the open properly and you can see the video, you can delete the original project from your iMovie Project Library. If all you want to do is just move it all at once instead of first copying and then deleting, drag the project while holding down the Apple key, which will bring up this dialog instead:
*Note: When you move the Projects & Events, they will be deleted from the original location then copied to the new location. But the projects will all work properly as all the Event clips used will be in the same spot. And it should all 'just work'

I've ticked the box for "Ask to keep changes when closing documents" System Preferences / General. I'm operating within Mac OS 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion).
When I make changes to an open file in most every program, a black dot appears on the red close button in the top-left corner of the file's window. This convention goes back a decade to early Mac OS X, as I recall.
However, I don't see this behavior in a few applications lately, such as Xcode 4.6.3 or QuickTime Player 10.2.
Anyone know how to bring this functionality back?

The windowing info should be held in com.apple.ichat.plist
In the Finder > Go Menu hold down the ALT key and select the Library that appears.
Navigate to the Preferences folder
Find com.apple.ichat.plist and drag it to the Trash (will delete it)
Restart Messages.
