How to build an equation with variables

I want to solve an equation shown in below by the Newton Raphson zero finder vi:
z-a*b*c*exp(-z/a),
a, b, and c are variables
I can build equation with constant a,b,c, but how can I build this one?

A couple of points I usually feel compelled to make when I see the use of the NR method.
1) Not an issue in a simple case like this, but the NR routine is typically a poor choice when you have a 1D problem and you calculate the derivative numerically.
2) If I am going to hardwire the formula like the previous example, then I will just use a VI instead of a formula. I only use formulas when I want to be able to make changes on-the-fly. I am just a bit dubious of the formula parsing VIs in general.
3) There is a VI called Substitute Variables which will take a set of rules and substitute numbers for parameters in your formula. Here is a quick example of its use. Here the names and number of parameters is fixed by the cluster itself. If I need full flexibility I use a table to hold the parameters and their values, but I do not want to muddy the waters here. You can just choose your favorite UI and convert (if necessary) to the proper cluster for the substitution rules.

Before, I would like to use "Build Arrary" and "Shift Register" to build a arrary, but I found it is not working for high sampling rates.
Is there anyother good way to build a data arrary for high sampling rates??

Can't give a sample of the FPGA right now but here is a sample bit of RT code I recently used. I am acquiring data at 51,200 samples every second. I put the data in a FIFO on the FPGA side, then I read from that FIFO on the RT side and insert the data into a pre-initialized array using "Replace Array subset" NOT "Insert into array". I keep a count of the data I have read/inserted, and once I am at 51,200 samples, I know I have 1 full second of data. At this point, I add it to a queue which sends it to another loop to be processed. Also, I don't use the new index terminal in my subVI because I know I am always adding 6400 elements so I can just multiply my counter by 6400, but if you use the method described further down below , you will want to use the "new index" to return a value because you may not always read the same number of elements using that method.
The reason I use a timeout of 0 and a wait until next ms multiple is because if you use a timeout wired to the FIFO read node, it spins a loop in the background that polls for data, which rails your processor. Depending on what type of acquisition you are doing, you can also use the method of reading 0 elements, then using the "elements remaining" variable, to wire up another node as is shown below. This was not an option for me because of my programs architecture and needing chunks of 1 second data. Had I used this method it would have overcomplicated things if I read more elements then I had available in my 51,200 buffer.

An inefficient way to create the array is to use the build array and a shift register as shown below. It's more effecient in terms of memory management to create the array and then use the replace array subset as shown in the other image. Of course, if you don't need the array inside the loop, just wire the value out of the while loop and on the exit tunnel, right click and select 'Enable Indexing'.

Hi,
Right click the mouse->create->table
If you want 5 columns, you need to declare 5 cells in one line type of the table
Click on Table -> Details, then do the following
Line Type 1 2 3 4 5
L1 2mm 3mm etc
Here specify the width of the columns as many as you want..
then in the header/main area of the table, click create Table Line, Rowtype is L1, automatically 5 cells will come,In each cell create a text element, display the variable to be printed there.

You first need to use a bind variable (named ':v' in SQL statement in my example):

i am trying to use wild card with variable but getting an error message, "You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression."
$src = 'C:\Temp'
$TabletzipPath = $src + "tab*.zip"
i would like to copy the tablet zip file which is placed in in $src to be copied in $TabletzipPath.
i am using tab* because this file name changes continuously. so if i give a fix name for example tablet1.zip than it works fine.

Not sure if the wildcard will work without seeing how you're using the variable.
That said, I can say that it looks like you're missing the backslash between the $src path and the wildcard filename. As-is the above code assigns a value to $TabletzipPath of "C:\temptab*.zip" instead of what you are likely expecting ("C:\temp\tab*.zip")

I am trying to use Labview for mp3 huffman decoding. there are 34 predefined tables for lookup purpose. I tried build array control, but it is so hard to assign value with size of 16. What is the better way to create predefined array? And how to do lookup table with Labview?

IMHO, the best way to have something "predefined" is to read this data from a "setup/configuration" file (if you don't want to use "default settings" LV feature). The choice of the format for all the data that you want to store in some kind of configuration file is up to you.
Also, constructing a "lookup table" in LV doesn't seems different as for any other programming language.

How to create a array with variables dimensions?

I try to create a array like that:
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[] [];
But that's doesn't work!
Apparently I must specify the dimension of my array
So I have done like that :
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[3] [3];
And that work!
But the problem is when I need to add extra elements to my array.
If I write :
data[4][1] = "123";
I have the error message :
java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
So, how can I defined a array with variables dimensions OR how can I add a dimension to a array?

if you have:
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[3] [3];you end yo getting ArrayIndexOutOfBoundException if you try to point to some other Indexes. You can increase the size by doing new:
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[4] [3];and then copy the old Arrays to this one... this is heavy.
Other thing to consider then is using some other datastructure, such as Vector, which grows along you add elements to it.

Now I have 4 character fields which can contain various values. Now I have another field at the end of the table and this field is the one which I will need for further processing.

This Read is performed in a loop and the data for all the 4 character fields may not be present.

I am no Apex expert, but with a situation as "complex" as yours, have you thought about creating a VIEW that joins these 7/8 tables, placing an INSTEAD OF trigger on that view to do all the business logic in the database, and base your application on the view?
This is the "thick-database" approach that has been gaining momentum of late. The idea is to put your business logic in the database wherever possible, and let the application (Form, Apex, J2EE, whatever) concentrate on UI issues,

The problem in your output is not clear. The report output should appear like:

Here "Order Mode" is the group field (it repeats for every group). Could you pl specify what output you are getting?
If the problem is that you don't want the Title (like "Order Mode" in the above example) to print in every group, just place it outside the group repeating frame. It will print only once.
