How to burn a podcast to Audio CD?

OK, so it's "old-fashioned" but I need to burn a playlist of podcasts to an audio CD.
No, not to an ipod - to a CD.
When I try, it isn't compatible. I suppose it's because the podcast is coming from a URL. The formats are not synching.
So bottom line question is: how do I reformat a Podcast so that it will burn to an audio CD?
Thanks for the help.

Sunzanna,
My problem was similar, I think; My podcast playlist would "copy" to an Audio CD but the file size was typically 8 or 9 kb-no data there. After many failed workarounds changing formats, etc., I sucessfully recorded my tracks by choosing the "Data CD or DVD" radio button in the "Burn Settings" window which pops up when you select the "Burn" button. There is a warning that the subsequent product may not play in all players-They play fine in my car CD player, however. Good luck.

It is not possible to burn a high-quality audio CD in any version of iTunes.
iTunes burning is designed for quick, convenient burns directly from a playlist.
iTunes does not do the proper volume normalization or silence suppression that is required for a high-quality finished product.
If you are striving for quality, you can consider dedicated burning programs such as Toast, Nero, or Roxio.

Create a playlist with the songs that you wish to include on the CD. Now when you click on the playlist in the left column in iTunes, there will be an option to burn to a CD.

  • How to make a dvd with audio track after exporting using media encoder? I have 2 seperate files??

    Hello,
I need to just burn a video I finished. It's a m2v file and so I have a AC3 audio tack and a video track. I thought I was good to go, but I cannot figure out how to burn the audio and the video to the same disk! This is very annoying as the settings I have to use for export to keep video quality will give me 2 seperate files.
So, what programs do you use or recommend that allow me to add an audio track? I don't want people to have the option of switching between tracks I just want a normal track like you have when watching a movie, I mean it just plays by default.
    Thanks in adv.
    Mark

The caveats that I would issue to others are:
1.) muxed Assets often work fine, but can cause problems. Properly spec'ed. elemental streams seem to never cause problems.
2.) Encore will allow one to populate a Timeline with multiple Assets. However, it can get very confused in some cases. One is where an Audio Clip is just an Audio Unit, or two, too long, and one has a tiny gap, between their Videos. Using one Timeline per Sequence will always work, so long as the Assets are properly spec'ed.
I'm not saying that either of these WILL cause problems. Many do similar with zero issues. However, there is the potential for problems. Just use with care.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Burning a Podcast to a CD

I want to burn a Podcast onto a CD. Is this possible? I brought an audio podcast into iTunes, and now I want to burn it onto a CD but there isn't a "burn" button like there normally is for an audio file. Do I need to convert it somehow?
    Thanks!

I figured it out on my own.

  • How to burn a cd

    HI!
i have recientrly purchased this computer and i find it quite complex for the moment.
I am trying to burn a music cd and i just can't. What I am burning instead is the folder ( with the songs in) but my HiFi can not read it.
I want to burn it in a format that my hifi can read it. What should i do??
What i have know is a cd with a folder full of songs that can only be opend with the computer and that is not what i want. Something similar happened before when a tried to burn a movie. I record the file with the movie inside but my cd player was not able to read it. Obiously Im doing something wrong.
I wonder how can i record just music or a movie . I guest im doing something wrong with the format.
With a pc the process was very very easy , it should be easy too. shouldn't it.
I checked all the tips but im doing the same mistake over and over.
If someone can lead me through the steps one by one i would be eternally thankfull.

    Hi, j.
    1. As others have noted, it's a three-step process. All of the information you need for burning an audio CD can be found in iTunes Help, which you can find in iTunes by selecting Help > iTunes Help in the menu bar of iTunes.1. Add the songs to your iTunes library. Since the songs are already on your hard drive, see: "iTunes: Adding songs from the hard drive to your library." If they were on a CD you wanted to import, see "iTunes Mac 5.0 Help: Adding songs from CDs to your library."
    2. Create a playlist. See "iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs."
    3. Burn the playlist as an audio CD. See " iTunes Mac 5.0 Help: Creating your own audio CDs." See also "How to burn an audio CD in iTunes."
    2. You wrote: "i have recientrly purchased this computer and i find it quite complex for the moment. That's understandable. However, you need to educate yourself about your computer and Mac OS X. My "Learning About Mac OS X" FAQ has a number of resources that you will find helpful including books, online training, and more.

  • How to burn gift CD for friend in Europe?

Hi. I've searched through iTunes Help and this forum but have been unable to find info about how to burn a CD for play outside the U.S. I have a friend in Italy and I would like to send him deadmau5's latest release, which isn't available in EU.
If I remember correctly, European CD players encode the music differently than U.S. players. Is that still true?
Also, I tried to "gift" the music but discovered I'd have to do it through the iTunes Italia store... which doesn't sell the album.
Any tips on burning the CD so it plays flawlessly in italy?
    Best,
    Dior

A friend back in 1999 burned me a CD that played fine in Italy but wouldn't play for me in the States.
Likely he burned it with some funky software.
Is this no longer the case?
It has never been the case.
I thought there was a difference in the way the music was encoded for playback.
No. The Redbook Audio CD standard was released in 1980 by Sony and Philips. As long as the software uses that standard (don't know of any apps that don't use it), it will work on all CD players.
If the CD has extras on it such as files or video, it is not Redbook standard and may not work with certain players, but this has nothing to do with DRM or regions as DVDs use.

  • How to get a 74 min. audio into 700 megs?

I'm setting up a piece to market through outfits like CreateSpace.  It is a 74 minute piece of music designed to put people to sleep.  It seems to work well at 74 minutes, hundreds have tried it over the years, and swear by ... so I'm going to try and market it.  And I don't feel like cutting it down to the 66 minutes that will fit into 700 megs.  I'm worried that whatever is working in it, may not work as a shorter piece.
CreateSpace says they can handle a 78 minute piece of music, but the megawattage limit is 700 megs.
If I put the 74 minutes out as an AIFF 44k/16bit it comes to 783 megs.  I've asked CreateSpace how they get 74 minutes into a 700 meg file when they request that it be an AIFF/44k/16bit.  I haven't heard back from them.
I'm wondering if any Logic pros out there would have an idea, if and how this might be accomplished (without sacrificing too much quality of course).
    All ears,
    Ben

A little reading of the manual.  A bit of poking around.  I'm now burning a Red Book Audio.  We'll see if it ends up fitting onto ... mmmm .... looks like it is working.
Okay, just burned a CD using the CDDA of Logic.  Odd.  The title Logic (or iTunes?) has assigned to the CD is 'MP3's Up Your ***".  The title of the actual file is '1 MP3.aiff'.  Neither of which have anything to do with what I burned.
I'm pulling the .AIFF file off the CD disk onto my desktop and it is telling me the file is 782.1 MB, which is 82.1 MB more than CreateSpace says it will allow.
So I get that it will now burn to a CD.  Cool.  So I guess I have to get onto CreateSpace and find out whether they can accept it or not.
Much obliged for your help Jazzmaniac,
    Ben

  • How to burn as MP3 disc?

I have bought some songs from the AppStore.  I want to trnasfer them to an MP3 disc so I can play them in the MP3 player in my car.  I have been unable to do so.  When I follow the instructions at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550?viewlocale=en_US it still won't burn them.  How can I get them onto a disc I can play in my car?

When I checked the files that cannot be burnt, I found that they were all those I had bought from the iTunes Store.
Are these listed in the 'Kind' column as 'Protected AAC audio file'? - this would apply to songs bought from the Store before it changed to selling unprotected versions. You cannot convert protected files to another format.
    There are two options:
    a) You can burn them to an audio CD and rip that back into iTunes.
    b) You can convert the songs to unprotected ('iTunes plus') for a fee: go to the Store and click on 'iTunes +' in the right sidebar.
