How to burn an .iso file

I am sure there is some way in disk utlility or something, but how do I burn an .iso file? Also does it matter if it is a windows program .iso?
Thank you

You can try to open it in Disk Utility. Just go Images>Open>browse to the .iso and it should mount the volume. Choose the volume and go to Images>Burn and follow directions.
You may encounter problems if the volume created on Windows is not compatibly formatted, but that's unlikely.
Note I'm running 10.3.9 so DU may have changed menu structures/options.
Lastly, this is faster and easier with Toast.

  • How to Burn an ISO to a DVD or USB?

Series: How to Re-Install Windows when you don't have the Recovery Discs
Intro: What is an ISO? Why is it used?
Step 1 - Get the ISO - ISO Download Links
Step 2 - Burn the ISO to a DVD or USB

Step 4 - What to do After Windows is Installed? How to Get HP Drivers?
Step 2 - Burn the ISO to a DVD or USB
I've Got the ISO, Now What?
    DVD Option
Once you've got a Windows ISO, you have to put it on some type of media, like a DVD or USB flash drive. Burning the ISO to a disc is made easy with ImgBurn's 'Write image file to disc'  -  Option B below.
Vista users: If you used the Vista download link in Step 1 above, you've got 3 different files that must be combined. You'll have to use Option A first to create an Image file from those 3 files and then use Option B to burn that ISO to a DVD (or see the USB Option below)
    USB Option
It wouldn't be necessary to put the ISO on a USB if you have a DVD drive and it is working. Newer, slimmer laptops sometimes don't come with DVD drives anymore, so they must use the USB option.
For putting the ISO on a USB flash drive, another program is required to make the USB drive able to be seen and booted to by the BIOS. "To be seen and booted to by the BIOS", means making the USB "bootable".
Rufus is a good program that creates bootable USB drives. Again, there are other programs out there that do this same thing too.
See Step 3 - What to do with the ISO DVD/USB? Change the Boot Order

You should not be using the "-dao" switch and get rid of the burnfree thing as that is now deprecated and will be used anyways if your drive supports it, so:
    sudo cdrecord -v dev=/dev/cdrom isofile.iso

  • How to burn to ISO image in Premiere Elements 12.1 under Windows 8.1 64bit?

I really struggle - is there no way to burn from PE12.1 to ISO image (under Win 8.1)?

    Motajko
There is no way to take your Timeline content to an ISO Image in Premiere Elements 12/12.1 on Windows 8.1 64 bit with just Premiere Elements 12/12.1 by itself.
Premiere Elements 13 is the first to offer a Burn To: option of ISO Image for DVD, AVCHD, and Blu-ray. Which one of those choices are you seeking (or all of them)?
If you cannot make due with the Burn To: Folder for DVD and AVCHD, then you can get your ISO Image from 12/12.1 in the following round about way....
Let us do AVCHD ISO Image as the example...
    1. Burn your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Timeline using Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD, Burn To: = Folder (4.7 GB).
    2. Take the BDMV Folder from the saved folder into the free ImgBurn program and export is as a ISO file.using the category named
    Create Image File from Files/Folder.
    3. When you need the disc product, you can take that ISO file to disc in ImgBurn using the category named Write Image File To Disc.
For more information on ISO Image and Premiere Elements, please review the following link's content

After you review and consider the above, we can discuss the matter further if needed.
    Thank you.

Downloading and installing the free ImgBurn needs caution since it is known to travel with unwanted carry alongs.

    Erebus.

    Nihao,
There is no documentation about this because ISO FileStructure is not supported in current JC specs. You can explore the JavaPurse project providet with the JC development kit form SUN and find there cyclic file implementation. All other implementations should be then programmed in similar way.
(And do not worry about your english, it is good enough. Better than my chineese ... couldn't even order a cab last year I was in Taipei .... )

  • How to import an iso file

    Hi all,
I'm playing with Oracle VM 2.2

I want to install Linux on a new VM.
In order to install it I have to first import the iso image, right?
I've already uplodaded the iso file to the VM server at /OVS/iso_pool/rhel-server-5.5-i386-dvd.iso
I do the following: logged in as admin, browse to
Resources, ISO Files, Select from Server Pool (Discover and register).
The problem now is I cannot choose my server pool, the dropdown does not show it. Why? (Actually it doesn't show anything)
I have a server pool with one node.
If I want to import a Virtual Machine Images, I can choose my server pool from the dropdown, but it doesn't appear for iso images....any reason why?
    Thanks a lot.

  • How to move an iso file?

I have an ISO file downloaded on my mac partition. I need it to be on my Bootcamp partition. Is there anyway for me to move the file from mac to bootcamp?

Actually, now that I've had a good night's rest and some coffee, the easiest solution would be to boot up Windows and simply copy the file from your OS X partition. The support software you installed when you loaded Windows initially installed a driver that allows read access to your OS X partition. Navigate to the file and simply copy it over.

  • How to burn 23 AVI files onto DVD?

I am trying to figure out how to make a DVD of a tv show season which has 23 episodes for my kids.
How can I make a DVD with all these?
Do i have to convert them first or create a project and drag the AVI files in?
    Thanks
    Patrick

    Hi RIPNHL2005
Welcome to apple discussions. If you find that the avi file/s will not work within iDvd directly (and some will not since avi is simply a container format) then the best way I find is to first convert them with an app like Mpeg streamclip. There are at least two web locations where you can download this freeware and they are shown below.
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
Assuming your episodes do not exceed 120 mins. per single layer dvd (or about twice that for dual layer media) then you can use iDvd thereafter.
However I do have an alternate suggestion also. I use software from Elgato / EyeTV3 in combination with EyeTV products to capture directly to my Hdd and then I can use Toast to burn them to Dvd thereafter. Works rather well and especially if I need to exceed 120 mins per dvd. Toast offers a fit to dvd option that you can't find within iDvd.

I want to burn a tv show that is in the FOV file format to a DVD that will play on my Sony DVD player. Toast Titanium doesnt recognize this file format, and I am having no luck with a google search looking for answers. If you know how to do this please let me know.

My Google search revealed many posts from mac and Windows users complaining that they can't play the format or find a converter. Speaking of converter, since you say that it is a TV show which is most likely subject to copyright and/or DRM protection, we are not allowed to discuss anything in these forums that might circumvent that protection.
