  • How to burn audio CD from iTunes playlist

How is this supposed to be done? It's not working for me.
I tried preferences > advanced > burning, but it is just spitting out the CD and throwing up errors. At least it did that the first few times, but now it just doesn't respond at all when I click OK.
    This ucks.

I intend to. I hope it is that. Is it possible to break your mac by using poor quality Cds? It really sounds bad when I put the CD in, like it is rattling about not making proper contact with the mechanism.

  • Cant Burn Audio CD in iTunes

I have an iMac G3 10.3.7 with iTunes 6.0 and Im having trouble burning Audio CDs from iTunes. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi everybody,
It sounds like you all might be talking about a problem that a lot of us are having involving burning purchased music in iTunes 6, specifically in 6.0.1. I'm including the name of the thread in question:
"Can not burn purchased music since upgrading to 6.0.1"
Just enter that into a thread search and you should be able to find it.
Kay, not to put you on the spot, but I notice you have a lot of answers to other questions regarding iTunes on the forums... Any ideas why I can't burn purchased music on iTunes 6.0.1 (problem didn't occur 'till I upgraded)? It tells me (and others) that my burner speed is to fast. But no adjustment of the burner speed helps. I can burn imported (ripped) music onto a CD just fine, the hardware works. I tried "repairing permissions" on my hard drive (as per a friend's advice), then was able to burn a CD-RW with success. Tried burning the same playlist with purchased songs onto a CD-R, same "burner speed imcompatibility" message. I've ruined 5 discs this way, and desperately need to figure out a solution. Any thoughts?

  • CD burner will not burn audio cds from iTunes

I have an Iomega external CD-RW burner that has been working perfectly until now. When I try to burn a cd from a playlist in iTunes, after inserting the blank cd... it says that it is checking the playlist, then the status goes to preparing to burn... and nothing happens. The drive almost appears to be unresponsive & itunes seems to have frozen, but they don't. So I have just ejected the disk and it's blank.
I've tried resetting the computer, power, changing the location of the usb connection, different cd-rs, nothing works.
I tried burning a data cd, which was successful. I just don't understand why it won't burn an audio cd from iTunes. Is there a problem with iTunes? Because it doesn't seem to be the cd burner since it is able to burn data cds.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I think it has always been the case that for burning
CDs with iTunes, the requirement is that it is an
internal Apple CD burner and that external ones might
    or might not work.
I have used external burners in the past with no problems.

  • How to burn MP3 songs from iTunes 11?

I wanted to find out how to burn my iTunes 11 music to a CD in the MP3 format.

I'm assuming that you are familiar with the old iTunes platform but in case you are not  (or someone else is not) I'm giving detailed instructions.
You need to create a playlist first. Go to the tiny square in the top left hand corner and select the drop down menu.
    Select "New" > "New Playlist"
    Give your playlist a name
Then select the music you want to burn by searching for the album, artist genre etc. There is a search bar (w/magnifying glass icon) in the top right corner.
Once the song appears right-click and select "Add to Playlist" > (playlist name)
If you want to add multiple songs, or a whole album select the first song, press and hold the shift key while pressing the arrow down key to highlight all of the songs
Note: If you aren't in full screen view arrow down may not select all songs in which case you will then arrow right. So press and hold "Shift" arrow down, then arrow right.
Right click the highlighted songs and select "Add to Playlist" > (playlist name)
At the top of your iTunes screen (beneath the rectangle) there is a menu going horizontally. It should say : Songs, Albums, Artists, Genres, Playlist, Radio, Match.
    Select "Playlist".
There will be a list of your playlist on the left hand side. Select the playlist that you sent your songs(and/or album) to.
Insert a blank disk into your drive.
Select the tiny square drop down menu at the top left hand corner. Select "Show Menu Bar".  You should now see a horizontal menu  (top left) of your screen saying:
File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help
Select "File" > "Burn Playlist to Disc"
A pop up window will appear giving you the option to change the burn settings. It is best to leave said settings alone unless you MUST change them for whatever reason.
    Select "Burn"
The notification bar (long rectangle top center of iTunes window) will tell you that your CD had finished burning, Just eject and you're done!
    Hope this helps

  • Issues Burning Audio CDs in iTunes

I recently bought my computer (HP Pavilion a6755y) and have been able to burn data CDs using iTunes.
However, every time I try and burn an audio CD, I have issues, and I'm not sure if it's iTunes or the burner/drive itself. Hoping someone can help me out based on what I describe...
When I burn the CD, I select "audio CD" when the popup appears and leave the other settings as they are. iTunes appears to burn the CD, but once I hear that "finished" noise, the CD doesn't appear in iTunes. When I try and eject it from the CD drive, it won't eject. When I click on the drive in "Computer," it asks me to name the disc and then it says it's write protected. I have to reboot in order for the computer to recognize the disc - and then it appears in iTunes but without track names. When I try and play a song, there is no music. The bottom of the CD looks as though it was burned as a data disc, but when I try and play it in a regular CD player, the tracks are there but blank. When I try and import it back into iTunes, it always freezes on the third track and I have to quit.
I have no idea why this is happening, as as a former Mac user, I'm completely baffled. Help!

Ok I solved the problem. What you'll have to do if you have this issue is: 1) go to your system information and look and see if any of your drivers need to updated. One way to tell is by looking at your PC baseline score. Otherwise you should go to the hp site and search 'driver updates' then select all the specific info for your pc model. 2)When your done the HP website will give you a list of driver updates to download. I downloaded the 'essential upgrades for windows vista', installed it, and restarted my computer. I initiated burn again (make sure the shuffle option is off for the burn playlist) and it worked, burned the entire cd... FINALLY! If you need more help or something, reply to this post.

  • How to burn on CD from iTunes for car-audio?

    Hi!
    I am a iMac&iPhone user.
I am trying to listen my music on itunes in my car.
I tried to burn CD many times,
But car audio doesn't recognise the file and I can't listen.
It seems that MP3 file is working.
    But m4a is not worlking.
    How can I do?
I DO aprreciate it if you will help me!!
    MUSIC

    Hi bonkuro,
If your car stereo can play the MP3 files on a burned CD but not the m4a files, it may be that the stereo is only configured to recognize MP3's, which is not uncommon. You may need to convert your files in iTunes to MP3's before burning them:

  • How to burn songs from one itunes account to import into a new itunes acct

I have set up seperate playlists for my children under my itunes account. However, my son is now older and receiving itunes gift cards and we want to set up his own itunes account but don't want to loose the songs we have purchased for him under my itunes account. We want these songs to still be available for him to sync to his ipod so we think we need to burn the songs to a disk so they can then be imported into his new itunes account. He doesn't want to loose track of his itunes money nor do I want him to be able to purchase songs using my itunes acct credit card info without my knowledge, therefore, we think we need to set up a new itunes account for his personal use. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Not necessary. If you want to copy song files to a new computer, copy them to a USB flash drive, and then from the flash drive to the new computer.

He should definitely have his own iTunes library, be it on the shared computer or on his own computer. As for a separate account in the iTunes Store, that is really up to you, depending how the family shares.

  • Error message when burning audio CD from iTunes

I tried to burn an audio CD and got the following error message: "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media." Can anyone help?

I tried the patch because I thought if the drive was the same as the ones in dell that it would work, but unfortunately it didn't lol. I've tried 3 different brands of cd-r, no luck. I can burn a cd-rw which is a bonus I suppose.
I called my support helpline again, and was given the story that the problem is the itunes software and they are not prepared to help. They even said that the patch that dell released doesn't fix the problem even though I gave him the address to the forum saying that it did. Someone must be responsible for the problem, meantime I'm stuck in the middle, and it seems it is the tsst corp L632H CDDVD drive that is giving problems.

  • KERNEL PANIC WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BURN AUDIO CD IN ITUNES & TOAST

This computer has recently been fully updated to the latest MacOS 10.3.9
This includes the latest version of Quicktime 7 iTunes 6 and Toast 6 Titanium
Prior to that the external usb TEAC CD-RW (Amacom Baby CD-RW) was not recognised in either iTunes or Toast. After consultation with Amacom the usb cable firmware was updated and all was resolved.
Now having completed these recent updates when I attempt to burn a cd a KERNEL PANIC occurs
    On seperate occasions:
In iTunes the bar indicates ‘writing audio tracks’ when it changes to ‘burning’ the kernel panic occurs
Toast indicates ‘writing cd’ and then commences burning and the kernel panic occurred
Toast also burnt one cd and gave the message ‘your cd is ready’ eject – I did this and another kernel panic occurred
I have run the the original MacOS intall disk Utilities verify and repair permissions but this problem still occurs
    Power Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

so you realize kernel panics have specific causes. The kernels we get on our FCP machines have always been followed by graphics card meltdowns or some other horrible hardware failure.
I cannot begin to imagine why iTunes would initiate a kernel shutdown unless the optical drive is going bad. Have you tried other tasks that use the drive such as playing DVDs?
Try deleting the preferences for iTunes?

  • How to edit audio file in iTunes, rename file

I finally figured out how to join mulitple tracks I'd ripped from a CD into one file, but now there's space between each track as it plays. Is there a way for me to edit the spaces out?
Where do I find the file for the new track? I need to upload it to a website.
Also, I want to change the name of the now-combined track, which iTunes automatically named "Audio CD." Is there a way for me to do that? Can't find an option for that.
    Appreciate any help.

Removing dead space once you've made a contiguous file is going to mean chopping it up again, and possibly a loss of quality as you re-encode the audio.
Try again from the beginning using either MPEG Audio Scissors or Audacity.

  • Can't burn audio cd in itunes

I just started having this problem yesterday. iTunes will burn an mp3 cd just fine; however, when I try to burn an audio cd it says that there are too many songs to fit on one disc and there is only like ten 4 minute songs. Then I click to make multiply audio cds and then itunes only puts 1 song up there, if it will even put anything up there. However, when I try to burn the same playlist as an mp3 cd, it works fine. I have tried updating itunes, I have even deleted it and completely downloaded it again and it still will not work. Can anyone please help?

How can I succesfully proceed?

    Hi s_chuk,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like there may be an issue with the disc burner in your computer since Windows Media Player fails as well.  I would see this article for more information:
