How to burn disc with period (.) in name? Finder says ".fpbf" extension req

I'm trying to burn a disc with the date in the name, like "mydisc 2006.10.31" but the finder says "you cannot remove or change the extension .fpbf because it is required by the finder."
What is this supposed to mean? I don't want a disc with that extension. In 10.39 burning a disc with this name was not an issue. If I then burn the disc and try to put the name in the window asking me the disk speed, then the disc burns but shows up as "mydisc 2006.10". It also appears that adding the ".fpbf" extension to the disc name, when in the finder, makes the disc show up normally before it is burned, but still burns without the last digits. Have not tried renaming just before burn confirmation yet.

It appears that adding ".fpbf" in the dialog when you confirm the disc name and burn speed, such as "mydisc 2006.10.31.fpbf" will then burn the disc correctly with the name as "mydisc 2006.10.31".
An ungainly but functional workaround. The disc name also then appears correct in OS9, so its not just a 'Finder trick' after its burned, the disc name is actually correct.

  • Premiere elements 12: how 2 burn video with menu on avchd disk with 1280x720

Hi, I have a source HD video (from TV) in resolution 1280x720/50. In export presets for avchd disk I only can find presets for 1440x1080 and 1920x1080. I'd like to export this video with menus in 1280x720 which is original resolution to AVCHD disk.
    How to handle?
    Regards, Juergen

    Juegen
No version of Premiere Elements lets you produce a DVD disc with or without menus with AVCHD format of 1280 x 720 at 50 progressive frames per second.
The burn to disc, DVD, AVCHD, and Blu-ray are offered as you found them.
You could burn your Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content to a file AVCHD.mp4 (720p50) via Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with Presets = MP4 - HD 720p50. And, then burn that file to a DVD disc as data disc if the disc capacity allowed. But you would not have any menus. Disc menus are offered only for burn to disc/burn to folder. And, important, stop markers do not function at playback of the Premiere Elements (any version) AVCHD DVD or Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc.
Please let us know if you need clarification on anything written.
    Thank you.

  • Burning Disc with Adobe Premiere Elements 12

I have made a slideshow in premiere elements 12.  I cannot find how to export. The instruction booklet said to go to tools and choose movie menus. I did this and saw it offerd movie menus and burn disc in description. I added menu. Then it said to click publis+share >disc.  This I can't find anywhere.  Can someone explain where that is?  I've restarted the computer and google searched.  I need someone to explain it as if they were talking to a toddler.  The export button in the file dropdown is gray and cannot be pressed.

Premiere Elements 12...what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Be that as it may, after you have your Timeline content ready for burn to disc (assumed DVD-VIDEO standard or standard widescreen) on DVD disc....
    Tools
    Movie Menu
.....now you should see a Choose A Menu dialog appear with a display of your theme choices
.....you select a theme and then hit "Continue" to bring you into the Movie Menu customization area.
    Movie Menu Customization area
....here customize the menus, Preview to make sure the navigation buttons of the menus are working, then hit "Done" in the top right
Clicking Done to the Movie Menu customization area will bring you to the following view
Note the Publish+Share at the top right of the workpace. Click on that to bring up your export opportunities.
If you goal is DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on DVD disc, then the burn dialog might look like this just before you hit the Burn button.
Please review and consider and let us know if you are OK with the information provided. If not OK with the details, please let us know where you need supplemental details for what is not working for you.

  • Low lv access on /dev/sr0 in order to burn disc with continous beam

Topic pretty much says it all but i'll elaborate.
Goal: blackening a whole disc with a continous beam of the laserdiode in burn mode
Backround: graphene-oxide exfoliation via laserlight (the laser is abused as a means to deliver an infrared highpower beam onto the surface,

  • Burning discs with itunes

I am inserting blank discs into by drive but Itunes says the discs are not blank and it wont burn to them. I was not having this problem two weeks ago. What happened?

Hey...I've been getting the same error, it says unsuccesful attempt error (4450). This is so frustrating! I've tried different disc brands and everything. On occasion it will work, but rarely. Has anybody figured out why?? Please email me at [email protected] if anyone has anything because it will be easier for me to access, thanks!

  • Can't burn disc with OS X Mavericks from finder

When attempting to burn a collection of files from a burn folder to a writeable CD, the drive loads the CD when inserted, the CD image appears over the burn folder image normally, but nothing further happens.  When attempting to eject the CD using the eject button or right-click and choosing eject, I get a message stating "You can't burn a disc using "Disc Name" because it's locked."  I can unlock the disc by using Get Info and unchecking the box for "locked".  However, this only allows me to eject the disc, I am still unable to burn the disc.  The symptom occurs with different discs so the problem is not related to the medi
However, iTunes writes CD's normally.  It appears that only writing CD's from the finder does not work, so it is not the CD drive.

Not sure this is related, however, after Facebook went down for about 20 min, soon after so did my Gmail (6) , 1 iCloud account(s). It's been hit and miss on downloading my email, however if I went to the websites I finally was able to get email. I then tried to see if my settings were correct and it appears all my passwords looked shorter than they really are. I reenter that information and voila, it's working again. Not a clue why those issues would have triggered my settings, however I know others have been complaining as well.

  • Problem burning disc with Disk Utility

I made a DVD in iDVD. I checked to see how big the project was and I had only used 1.2G or the 4G available. I then did "save as disc image" to my desktop. After that was completed, which took over 2 hours, I tried to use Disk Utility to burn a DVD. When I insert the DVD it says there is not enough space available. I then check my project in iDVD and the line that tells the amount of space used is completely red (all used up and over). I completely shut down iDVD and reopen and the project is back at the 1.2G size. It's a relatively small project so I'm fairly sure that it really is 1.2 and not over the limit.
I tried this procedure twice to make sure there was enough space when I start the whole process.
In the very beginning I tried to burn the project within iDVD. It burned and ejected but the screen didn't reflect that it had finished and did not ask if I wanted to burn another disc. The screen said it was still finishing the burn. The disc had ejected and it played just fine on my t.v. The only problem with this way is that I need to make lots of copies of this and having to force quit and start again makes every disc take approx. 2-1/2 hours each.

Evidently I'm not understanding what you are asking.
When I'm in iDVD I go under Project and click
"Project Info". Project Duration is 36:01 minutes.
In DVD Capacity it says 1.0 GB of 4.2 GB is being
used. I thought that was what you were wanting.
Thank you for your help. If you could tell me where
to look for the info you want I will do it promptly.
The Project Information probably doesn't include the DVD-ROM contents you want to include (and it's only a poor guess at what will be actually needed).
If your project is 36 minutes, I would expect it to actually require over 2 GB of DVD space with either 'Best Performance' or 'Best Quality' selected.
It was my understanding at the start that you HAD created a disk image file on your hard drive of your iDVD project. Is this true? This WOULD include the DVD-ROM area if things went well. I am asking you to tell me the actual size of this disk image file (click on it to select it and then select File>Get Info).
I suspect the size of the DVD-ROM area you want to create is causing your problems. Are all the digital images you want to include in the DVD-ROM area in one folder? If so, what is the size of this folder (click on it to select it and then select File>Get Info)?

  • Burning discs with the Finder

Thanks for taking the time to read my post!
I am not able to burn CDs in the Finder through the use of a "burn folder." Even when I have inserted a blank disc my computer tells me to "Insert a blank disc to begin."
Blank CDs do not show up on my desktop, and when I looked at the discs in Disc Utility it says that they are "read only" and have 0 capacity.
I know that the problem is not with the discs or with my drive, however, because I can burn CDs through iTunes and iPhoto. i just can't in the finder.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
    Powerbook G4 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I was having the same problem. I changed my System Preferences > CDs & DVDs > When you insert a blank CD: and System Preferences > CDs & DVDs > When you insert a blank DVD: from "Ignore" to "Open Finder." Now the blank disc shows up on the Desktop and the clicking "Burn" actually does something productive. This sounds like a bug in OS X to me.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to use INSERT with no column name specified?

I want to insert rows into a database table using JDBC's PreparedStatement. I want to specify all values for each row, so that in plain SQL I would not have to specify column names. I wonder if I can do same thing with JDBC in the same manner (it would save a lot of network traffic as far as I can understand)? The problem is:
I need to know the data types of the columns to use correct setXXX method on my PreparedStatement. For example: ps.setString() for CHAR data and ps.setBytes() for binary data. I can use Connection.getMetadata().getColumns(..,..,tableName,'%') to get column types for all columns in my table as a ResultSet. However but I am not sure if I get them in the right order, i.e. in the order in which the columns have been defined for the table in CREATE TABLE.
So it seems I have a tough choice: to get type information in order externally or to specify (and probably transfer via network) column names in each INSERT statement. :-(
Do I have a better choice? Any ideas will be highly appreciated..

...if I get them in the right order, ....Only reason for that is if you are using a meta-data type solution. If you are then there is no solution. After all customer name and address are both just text. How could you tell which is first even if you had a way to handle the types?
But if your inserts are fixed then try using varchars (single ticked entries.) This depends on the database/driver. If is supported then you will have to use SimpleDateFormat to format dates/times in the correct format for the database or use a prepared statement with bind variables.

  • How to burn iDVD with no DVD burner..

Hi - I have a new MacBook but foolishly didn't buy the one with the DVD burning capability. I have created a nice slideshow with pics and music, nice transitions, etc. in iDVD which I want to be able to play in a DVD player on the TV, but can not burn it as I have no superdrive. Can you think of a way around this, or other software I can use to create the same slideshow and burn to a CD and play on the TV? Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Your DVD player attached to the TV will probably be looking for a DVD, unless it will also play video CD's. One option is to buy yourself an external DVD recorder. You can scan the discussions to find ones that work with macs (not all specify that they will work with macs). For example, OWC has 3 external recorders from $80 to $120 at http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/optical-drives/ . If you follow the path I've seen others follow, once you find out how easy it is to create various materials for DVD's, you'd probably get your monies worth from an external DVD burner.
Another option would be to hook your computer directly to your TV, if the TV will allow it. Many newer LCD/plasma TV's allow for computer hookup.

  • How to delete queries with identical technical name in BEx

    Hi everyone,
How do I delete query which is assigned to Roles in BEx.The problem is that there are two queries with the same technical name. And both queries are assigned to the same Role. Can anyone help me out in deleting both those queries.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jayasree.

    Hi,
When you do Changes in Dev and do the Transporting to Production, the Same Query which is already exist in Production is not overwritten. For that reason Queries will show as two. Check the note: 541024.
Check with your Basis team also.
You have to identify the UID Component of that Particular Query, which want to delete in production. Check the Queries as Date wise, you will find.
Delete these by using RSZDELETE tcode with UID Component of that particular Query in Production.
Let us know if you still have any issues.

  • How to burn movie with no theme

I would like to burn movie without a theme...can't figure out how. I tried exporting to the desktop and then dragging onto Magic movie, but that still seens to require a theme.

Thanks for replying Showman. I have seen reports on the forum as to a variation to the solution described here, but haven't tried it personally. It doesn't require looping of the movie, but is slightly more involved.
The idea is to use a fairly basic theme, with no animation or music (one of the earlier themes if you have them). Replace the background with a black image and change all text to black. So effectively the theme is completely black. Now use the procedure previously described (which you are familiar with) to automatically play the DVD without seeing a theme (using the first drop box in Map view).
But don't loop the movie. Now when the DVD finishes playing, it will return to the black theme (which is of course the opening menu). If you press Play or Enter it will start playing again, otherwise it will just sit there showing a black screen.
That may be a better alternative for you. I will be interested to see how things go using Final Cut Express' "print to video" in conjunction with One Step DVD.
