How to burn hi-def movie with .mpeg extenstion.

If this is a dumb Q then I apologise. With the trial version of Premiere Elements 7.0 I imported AVCHD 1920x1080i video, and created a hi-def (1920x1080i) mpeg file with a .mpeg file extension (not an .m2t extension). It plays perfectly in windows medial player (With the "Created with Adobe Premiere Elements Trial version" banner across it). So I purchased the software. But now I can't for the life of me work out how to create a 1920x1080i .mpeg file. Help! Thanks from New Zealand.

From the Share tab select the Share to Computer option and select MPEG. Then select a high definition option.

  • How to burn blu ray disc with H264 files and ac3 files?

    Hello,
I have tried many times to burn a bluray disc with FCP and compressor and they always end up not successful. After spending days on testing different settings, I finally managed to only get it to work if I tried
    1) outputting to Hard drive as opposed to burn to bluray
    2) Turning the default bit rate down from 35Mbits to between 15-19Mbits.
Then I used either disk utility or toast to burn the disc image onto the Bluray disc.
I have however on a recent job forgotten to switch the setting on compressor to output to harddisk and instead set it to burn to Blu-ray. Big mistake. Again I end up with a h264 file and an ac3 file, and nothing I can do with them after 24 hours of rendering. Oddly, the compressor says "successful" but nothing is created but that 2 files.
My question is (before I restart the whole 24hr rendering process again) - is there anyone who can help me use the .264 file and the ac3 file and create the blu-ray disc with the menus again without having to re-render all over again? I have not been able to find anyone to provide me with a solution or find any where online that helps with that.
    Desperately ...
    Yee-wei

    Hello,
Sorry but the instructions in the manual (online and offline) do not answer my question. Yes I do have a bluray burner, it is a matsushita BD-MLT SW-5584. I wrote in my post that when I set it to output to HardDrive, it will create a dmg file nicely for me to burn using disk utility or toast.
But when set it to burn to Bluray disc, nothing gets done. I just want to find out, with the h264 file and the ac3 file that gets created in the process of creating the dmg file, can I still burn the disc or create a dmg file from them without having to re-render the whole thing again.
Maybe you never tried burning a Blu-ray disc with FCP or compressor before. Let me explain how it works. When you submit the project to process, it will create 2 files - 1 ac3 audio file and a .264 file. After that 2 files are rendered (which takes 24hrs for my 2hr 30min HD clip), it will use that 2 files to create your Bluray disc or your dmg file. Problem occurs when it doesn't burn the disc and you are left with just the 2 files that cannot be used to burn the project again. My question is : is there anyone who knows how to set the compressor to see that the 2 files are already created and just continue to create a dmg file?
Hope my question is clearer now.

  • How to burn hi-def video to DVD with CS3?

i'm using CS3 and for the first time
I'm doing a Hi-Def video project.  But when i copy
the sequence, or export a movie, to my DVD burner, i have quite a bit of loss in video quality.
Someone has told me that i need to get a newer DVD burner (mine is 3-yrs old), since the older ones don't handle Hi-Def properly.  Does anyone know about this?

The DVD specification is for a very specific video format, and that video format is not high-definition.
The high-definition successors to the DVD format were Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD. Blu-ray seems to have won that format war.
Here's a page about exporting to Blu-ray Disc format.

  • How to Burn a QT movie

I created a keynote presentation, and I exported it to QT so it can be viewed by presenters who don't have Keynote. In QT by clicking on the screen the presentation progresses -- all is fine as I want it.
I now want to burn the presentation to a cd so that it can be played on other computers mac/windows as a QT movie. How do I get the QT movie to burn to a cd?
    Suggestions?
    Carl

    Hi guys
Thank you for the reply. I've managed to get a disk burnt of the QT movie, but a couple of strange things happened that I hope you can shed some light on.
When I put the disk in the Mac and play the Keynote presentation, it works but in the slides with video both the video and audio are jerky-- sort of stalls out then leaps forward as though it's trying to catch up.
I put the disk in my dell with QT for windows on it that I recently downloaded as a bundle with itunes. I put the disk in, then I open QT player. It comes up and in file I click on the disk drive, highlite it and click open. Guess what -- error -103 is displayed with the phrase error of unknown origin. It won't play there at all.
Any clues or suggestions to solve either of these problems.
    Thanks
    Carl

  • How do I share my movies with my wife's iTunes account on the same iMac, without having to actually copy the movie into her library?

I apologize if this is already in the forum somewhere, I simply could not find this question being asked anywhere.  We have an iMac running Lion with all of the latest updates as well as the latest version of iTunes.  All of the digital movies we've purchased through iTunes, have been purchased through my iTunes account.  However, my wife is the one with the iPad, and syncs it with her own iTunes library and her own Apple ID.  I have turned on Homesharing for my library, and she can see my library from within her iTunes account.  We turned on the feature to automatically copy new movies into her library so that she could sync those movies onto her iPad.  However, I quickly discovered that it is literally storing a second copy of the movie file in her iTunes folder, and therefore eating up precious hard drive space.  Is there a way for her to "check" movies in my homeshare library from within iTunes to sync with her iPad when she connects it, without actually copying those movies into her iTunes folder?  If not, any suggestions on how we can solve this issue?

What you're describing is the expected behaviour.  I believe though that is also is the easiest way to have all the contents available to both of you at all times.  If you have a spacious hard drive you should probably allow this to happen as anything else will be harder to manage.
My suggestion would be the following if you want to try something different.
Store all your music at a location that is accessible by both of you — an example would be to use your Public Folder as the locations where iTunes will go and look for all the media files—.  Your wife does have access to it.
In the Finder you will need to move the folder name iTunes Music to the location in your Public Folder (see above).  Once that's done, you and your wife will have to go into the iTunes Preferences > Advance Preferences and un-check Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library.  From this point on, you can continue to use iTunes as usual.  You'll need to tell your wife what has been newly downloaded/imported into your iTunes so she can manually go look for those items in that Public Folder iTunes of yours and import them into her iTunes.  She will not duplicate by doing that, but, like I say this is an all-manual work.
She can do the same, so you have access to contents she imported herself.  One more downside of this is that both usernames have to be active in your iMac.  If yours isn't, she won't be able to access any item (song, book, app) located in your Public Folder's iTunes.
I'm sure there's a way, if you have an router with external hard drive conectivity, for both of you to be able to access —independently— the iTunes Media at all times but I was just reading at another post that doing so can further complicate things.
Hope this helps.  Please let me know what you think or decide to do.

  • How to make a trailer movie with own photo's

I am trying to make a trailer in IMovie.  I have made a 'normal movie' and would like to add a trailer.
Probably a silly question, but where you get the grayed out frames with action, dog, 1 person 2 people, Landscape  etc....
How do you add your photo to that frame.
I have converted the trailer - which is fine, and I can add photo'sto the trailer normally no problem, but what is the point of having the grayed out frames with action, pet , landscape etc.  if you can't actually put a photo in the frame??
I've seen the trailer on Apple, and it looks good, but I can't seem to able to mimic it.
    Thanks

You can only add video clips to the Trailer templates (called "animatics"). As you may have discovered, you can only insert still images when you convert the Trailer to a normal project.(File>Convert to Project).

  • How do you import quicktime.mov with xml subtitles?

Received QT movies that have subtitles using tx3g (embedded xml). How can I get the subtitles into Finalcut Pro? When I import the movies in Final Cut the subtitles are missing. Tried to export the xml from QT, then import the xml into Final Cut - but it asks for the translation document - which I do not understand.

I just converted a wmv file into swf by first opening it in Quicktime (first I had to buy Quicktime Pro to export it to mov and Flip4mac to get it open in the first place, so you're ahead of the game). Then I went into the Adobe Media Encoder that comes with CS4 and converted it into a flv file from there. Then I went into flash and used 'import video', and saved it as a swf file, posted both into my website folder, and saved the skin that it generated into the main website folder where the html file is, it wouldn't show the buttons until I moved it.
    Hope that helps.

    imac Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I'm pretty sure it could be done using the PIP feature. Though you'd need to export-reimport-export-reimport to get the effect since you can only perform the PIP effect once per project. Try this, create a Title(black background), Delete title header(leaves you an empty black background). Make sure background is long enough to display your PIP vids. Place you first vid inside(pip) and line it up whee you want it. Next, export, then reimport into new project. Now take your 2nd vid and place it inside the same imported vid, again line it up where you want it. Export that vid......continue the same process til your done inserting the pip vids. Hope that helps some. Lucky for me I have also Adobe Premier Pro at my disposal(99 video tracks/project)!) for that effect! Good luck!

  • How to create iPad-ready movie with chapters In PP & media encoder

Is there a tutorial to do this?  I've seen it mentioned a number of times related to the "end of life" for Encore, but can't find anything in my Media Encoder nor Premier Pro CC to indicate how to do it.
    Thx...jw

Which version of Premiere? CC does not include Encore, but you can download the Encore CS6 from your account. As it is part of Premiere CS6, I believe you would need to download and install Premiere/Encore CS6, and then you can uninstall Premiere CS6, leaving Encore CS6 installed.
If you have Premiere CS6, then you already have Encore CS6. In either case, from Premiere, use File > Export > Media to open Media Encoder. For FORMAT, choose "MPEG-2 DVD", then choose an appropriate preset from the list. For instance, if editing with 1080i, then you might choose NTSC Widescreen High Quality. For 1080p, then use the Progressive version, etc.
What is your source video format? If starting with HD, then check the box at the bottom of AME for Max Render Quality, it helps with the scaling.
Hit EXPORT at bottom and it exports two files, an .m2v for video and .wav for audio. Open Encore, start a New DVD project, and then File > Import > As Timeline and grab both those files for import. From there, I recommend finding an Encore tutorial, too involved for me to type it all out here.
Hope this gets you going at least, but search online for tutorials, there is plenty of good, free stuff out there

  • How can I share a movie with my boyfriend?

I have bought a movie on iTunes using my Apple ID and have watched it on my iPad.  A couple of questions about sharing...
Firstly, can we watch my movie on his Mac? My iPad is assigned to my laptop back home, and he has his own iTunes set up on his MacBook Pro which we have with us on holiday.
Secondly can he watch my movie on his iPad?  His iPad is assigned to his Mac using his Apple ID.
    Thanks very much!

Purchased movies are intended for your own use only.
In order to do what you want he would have not only to sign into your account in iTunes but also authorize his computer for use with purchased items.
However once he has done this he cannot change back to authorizing it for his own account for 90 days:

  • How do I share purchased movies with family members?

Can I share a purchased movie or TV show with other family members NOT using Home Sharing?  Can I transfer the purchase (like a gift) to someone else?

If you've purchased it for yourself then it will be tied to your account - you can only gift items from within the store, not from your purchases. If you don't want to use home sharing (which you can use to copy content between computers) then you should be able to copy them onto, for example, a flash drive, authorise your account on the other computer and then add the film/tv show to its library via File > Add To Library.
