How to burn .iso file?

Hi all,
I have downloaded from a site called animoto (they make slideshows) a .iso file that they say can be burned to a cd/dvd and then used to play that slideshow on any DVD player.
I downloaded the .iso file, opened disk utility, mounted the .iso on the left pane of disk utility then from the top clicked burn and it burned the .iso file to the blank CD (the .iso file is only 70.4mb).
However, when I take the CD to play it in a Playstation 3 under the DVD playback utility it presents with 2 folders. One is Audio_TS and the other Video_TS. Clicking on the video one plays the slideshow as intended. I then took the same disk to my parents and used their DVD player, put the disk in and got an error message saying "This disk is not supported". I then tried on an iMac at my parents and it played fine through VLC player.
Question is, what did I do wrong and how do I get the .iso file on the disk so that when I put the disk in a DVD player it plays as a normal DVD?
All help appreciated,
Kind Regards,
Mark

Perhaps a cd will not play on their DVD player. Try burning it to a DVD.

What is "kali tools"? If you want help from others, you need to give information. We're not psychics. Generally you install packages using pacman (either from the repos, using ABS or using the AUR). If this is something specific to Kali linux, it probably is not available for Arch Linux. But without information about exactly what you're talking about, it's hard to say.

  • How do you burn .ISO files on Mac or convert them to .CDR files ? Thanks

    Hi,
I want to install Vista (beta) on my MacBook, using BootCamp. For this I need to burn the Wista.ISO image onto a DVD which then I can install on the partition created by BootCamp assistant. I only have this intel computer and a PowerBook G4.
Question: Is there a way for me to convert the .ISO (vista image) into a .cdr file that I can burn normally? Or is there any other way to make a Vista instalation disc from a .ISO file using a Mac computer? Perhaps using some converting software.... or ...do you have any suggestions? I only have the Macs and cannot borrow or use any PC during the weekend.
    Thank you

"What I meant is: to burn the .ISO image in such a way that when I slip the created DVD into the computer, it will start installing the Vista OS."
yeah, and burning the ISO with Toast or Disk Utility will create such a disc. We wouldn't have recommended it if it wouldn't work for you.

  • Burn ISO file

Strange I can't figure this out. I downloaded an .iso file to burn to dvd. I'll call it "file.iso" How do I do it? Disk Utility dutifully reproduces the file and I get "file.iso" on the DVD. That's not what I want. I want it "expanded" or whatever, so it makes a working DVD, not a copy of the .iso file. I don't want a data disc, I want a payable DVD. It's not protected content or anything like that. The threads I saw don't seem to address it this way but are people trying to burn data to a dvd. Seems kinda strange I can't figure this out but I'm stumped. Any help will be appreciated.

Double click the iso file and it should mount in the Finder. Copy the contents to your hard drive and use Toast to burn the VIDEO-TS file to a DVD disk.

    Hello,
I wants to know How various way store ISO file at Windows Azure (or by Content Management)so that i will be get available cross different location for use.
    Thanks
    Richa Km

    Hi  Richa,
If you want to store a ISO image file in Azure Storage ,I  suggest that you can try to use Azure Blob storage.
For Azure Blob storage is a service for storing large amounts of unstructured data, such as text or binary data, that can be accessed from anywhere in the world via
    HTTP or HTTPS.
So that you can store a common ISO file use the Azure Blob storage, and you can get it anytime or anywhere .
For more information about how to use Azure Blob storage ,please refer to the link below:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/storage-dotnet-how-to-use-blobs/
Then you can use Azure storage Explorer to store ISO image file ,please refer to the link below:
    https://azurestorageexplorer.codeplex.com/
You also can try the CloudBerry to store the ISO  image file, please refer to the link below:

  • 10.5.3 upgrade burn iso file

OK prior to the 10.5.3 upgrade I could burn ISO's to DVD without any problems either using "Burn" or the "disk utility". Now all I get is that the device, an OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5630A, fails to respond properly.
To me this just sounds like a driver issue.

We have the same problem over here in the UK with two (almost) identical Imac 24 In machines, one running 10.4.11, which works, and the other running 10.5.3, which doesn't either with CDs or RW CDs

  • How to burn movie files onto a disc for others to use not just watch?

Hi! I used my video camera to record my sister's wedding ceremony and other little clips throughout the day. I want to give her those files to use however she wants. I don't want to edit them or give them to her as a watchable DVD.
I want to be able to burn them onto a DVD-R and then she can upload them onto her computer and edit/manipulate them as she pleases.
Problem is, the ceremony video alone is 9.28 GB! How can I get her these files? Thanks!

Not if any single file is 4GB or larger; this is the size limit for FAT32 drives. The OP stated that one file was 9GB.
Good point - I've kept a small, portable drive formated with FAT32 to transfer an occasional small file to my PC friends.
Mac OS X 10.6.6 can read and write exFAT
Since not all my systems use Snow Leopard, exFAT isn't yet an option for me.

  • How to burn .MOD files from my thumb drive to a DVD

How can I copy my .MOD video files that are on my thumb drive to a DVD-R?

I'm not familiar with that file format, but apparently it is used for some audio and some video files. Here's an article that might be of interest:
    http://www.masternewmedia.org/news/2008/06/12/howto_convert_modvideo.htm
Your basic challenge is to convert the format into Quicktime DV Stream (.dv) for greatest compatibility with iDVD. You can also check with Apple to see if upgrading to iDVD08 would solve the problem by being able to handle the format conversion internally. Be sure they understand how the .mod files were created.

  • How to burn VOB files onto a DVD?

Hello everyone, I've seen this question asked in other forum postings, but I can't seem to find the specific answer I'm looking for. Basically, I have several VOB files that I want to burn onto a DVD that I can play in a regular DVD player. Can anyone please recommend any applications that would be good to do this? I appreciate any help and support I can get, thanks!
    ibook Mac OS X (10.4.10)
    ibook   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

If have the complete set of VOB files for a DVD, put them in a folder named "VIDEO_TS" and use DVD Imager
    <http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/applescript/dvdimager.html>
to make a .dmg file that can be burned to a DVD.

  • How to burn/convert files from Mac The Ripper??

Ok, I just used MacTheRipper to rip a DVD with Video_Ts and Audio_TS folders.
Now my question is, how can I convert these into a disk-image, or how can I now burn this to a DVD? Thanks in advance

What kind of burner do you have?
You need software to convert a Video_TS folder into the format necessary for a DVD to play on a DVD player.
One of the programs that will do this is Toast Platinum.
You need more than a blank DVD and a mere burner.
    Google for conversion programs.

  • How to burn multiple files on a DVD-R

I'm new to the disc-burning business. Throught the Apple support chat, they told me I could "multisession burn" by using Disk Utility instead of Finder. The webpage support sent me was for an older OS (not OS X 10.4). This didn't translate to the newer version. Any help? Thanks.

Robert, Welcome to the discussion area!
AFAIK, you can only muti-session burn to a CD not to a DVD.
