How to burn only a few tunes in playlist?

One thing's puzzling me please, in itunes I am trying to burn only a few songs from a playlist but I am not seeing the option to do when I right lick on the selected songs. Will itunes burn only an "entire" playlist?

Start a new playlist, and put only the songs in it that you want to burn.

How to burn only part of a dvd?

I have a dvd my father sent me with footage from vhs recordings from about 20 years ago. I want to copy for a friend a couple of segments that are on the dvd. Unfortunately I have 2 problems, first being the dvd will play in my dvd player (hooked up to tv), but when I put dvd in imac I can't get it to load~only see first "page" of dvd with menu on it, I click and it won't load.
Second problem, assuming I can figure out first problem, I don't know how to exclude probably 95% of the dvd to burn a copy for a friend. Any help from a frazzled newbie?

Your first problem:
You need to convert the VOB files back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle in order that you edit the contents. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:

For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
Your second problem
What version of iMac do you have? Does it actually have a Superdrive that can read DVDs, or just a Combi drive which can only read CDs?

How to select only first few values in a Column

Hi, in one of the column of type SDO_GEOMETRY. In that column we have many values. Example : *(-6.33787700000002, 56.547309, -6.33786800000001, 56.547279, -6.33781400000001, 56.547249, -6.33776900000001)*
I wanted to know how can i select only first two or last two values from within the column.
Eg: i want only -6.33787700000002, 56.547309 to be displayed

As Bob says, not available via Airports - however you may consider pointing them to the OpenDNS service, you could blacklist everything and whitelist only those sites you want (max 50 on the free service)
Not perfect as the user could still type in the direct IP addtess if they know it but better than nothing.

Only a few songs in playlist are sync correctly.

I've recently made a purchase of an iMac, and I was synchronizing my iPhone to my new Mac.
However, after synchronizing, I've found that the songs that I have categorized them into various playlists aren't found in the lists.
Those songs are in my phone, under songs, but not under the playlists where I want them to be. I never encountered such problem with my itunes in the previous computer. Please help!

I'm having this exact same issue. I have the latest version of iTunes, and my iPhone 4 is up to date.
I have a playlist on iTunes with over thirty songs in it. I syncned my itunes with my iPhone 4, in order to have that playlist on my phone's iPod. When I check my iPod, however, the playlist is indeed there, but it only contains one song. The rest of the songs that are supposed to be on the playlist are not there. And no matter how many times I sync my phone, nothing changes.
I've tried everything. Manually managing my songs, dragging the playlist into my phone, etc.

I have tried and tried but can not seem to find a option that allows you to start one song and then stop at the end of that song without running into the next track. What is up with this apple? I know it's an old function for most other programs, why not keep it? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Untick all the tracks, then iTunes will only play the track you select.

unfortunately it´s not possible to install just one program from recovery cd´s.
But on Lenovo support pages, there you should find your software and applications.
Please visit with IE and let autodetect your system.
Then you should able to choose which type of software is availible for you.
Choose CD and DVD drives.
Hopefully the T400 department is up to date now.

Loaded itunes on a new computer, and synced ipad. Now only those few songs I had on the ipad are in my library. But all of my ipods (3) have my full music library. How do i get all my songs moved back into my library from one of my ipods?

I installed itunes on a new laptop, with Windows 8, and synced my ipad. Now my music library has only those few songs I had synced to the ipad, or roughly a quarter of my original library. My ipods (all three) still have the full library, but everytime I try to sync them, I am asked if I want to delete all of the contents and replace with the (much smaller) itunes library. Of course I don't, but how do I "reverse sync" and replace all the music contents of my library with the contents from one of my ipods?

IMac w/ CD-Burner only; how do I install 10.4.3?

I have two iMacs; one with a DVD reader, and one with a CD-Burner only. The 10.4.3 software is on DVD. How in the heck I am supposed to install the OS on the iMac with the CD-Burner? If Apple tells me I have to purchase a DVD drive, I am going to be EXTREMELY IRRITATED.
Is there any way to use my other iMac to host a network install?

Sweet. I like your setup. Do you have an ethernet
cable (or a firewire cable) for networking?
as long as you've got the cable, here's what you do:
1. pop the DVD in the mac with a DVD drive, open disk
copy, and get it started making a READ/WRITE image of
the DVD
2. that'll take a while, so while it's going, get
BootCD from http://www.charlessoft.com/ and make a
boot CD that works for your mac without a dVD drive.
make sure to include these programs:
nstaller
Terminal
Disk Utility
Console
3. burn your Boot disk
4. if you want to do a clean install, back up, and
erase your disk on the destination mac (the one
without the DVD drive). otherwise, just continue.
5. boot the destination mac from the cd you jsut
made.
6. if you have ethernet cable, connect the two macs
with ethernet cable (patch or crossover, doesn't
matter) and open the disk image on the DVD mac If
not, boot the DVD mac in target mode connected to the
destination mac
7. on the destination mac, connect to the DVD mac if
you haven't already. if using ethernet, you need
only mount the install disk image you made earlier.
if using Target mode, just mount the disk image
now.
. navigate to /System/Installation/Packages/ on the
install mount. open OSInstall.mpkg
9. follow the instructions. if you're lucky,
everything will go smoothly, and you are on your way.
if you're not lucky, stuff will be wierd. if it
worked out, go ahead and clean up... delete the disk
image and stuff, reinstall apps, user data,
whatever. IF NOt, continue on.
0. if it doesn't work, that means one of the
packages is being troublesome. I've had trouble with
X11User and BaseSystem. X11 user can be installed
later, so we won't worry about it, but BaseSystem is
a bit of a trick. See, the problem generally is that
it's preflight script is looking for files that
aren't there. So you'll need to navigate to
/System/Installation/Packages/BaseSystem.pkg/... and
find the preflight script, and edit it. pretty much
you'll need two lines left. the first line of the
file can stay. then go through and find a line that
says something about 'exit' and 0. (meaning exit and
return a success). Delete every line in the file
except this exit line and that first line up at the
very top. Save, and try installing again. If
something still doesn't work, check the console to
see what it says, and keep playing.
11. Once you get it working, Clean up, and you're
done
I've used this method to install 10.4 on my
iMac(350MHz CD-ROM) several times (twice actually),
and almost managed to make it work on my mom's beige
G3, except that her CD drive won't spin up, so I
would have had to boot of a ZIP disk. Have you ever
tried to fit an OS X boot system into 100MB?? it's
next to impossible.
However, that doesn't mean I'm responsible for
anything you do to your mac. Really you should back
up before you get started, regardless of whether you
want to do a clean install or not, but that's just me.

After updating my iPad mini to iOS 6.2 iTunes decided to wipe everything off and seem to take my account back into the past as all music, apps, videos was gone! Only a few songs where left that I have never seem before? How do I get my liabary back?

Today I got a iPad mini but after updating it my pc and iTunes decided to clear my whole iTunes library including manual downloads as well as purchased items (apps, music etc) it seems iTunes has gone back in time as there are only a few songs on my iTunes which are really old ones of mine. I finally decided to turn this annoyance into an opportunity. After a lot of experimenting I found that my iPad was just fine under 7.1 if I simply restored it as new. I have a lot of time on my hands and I had 1424 apps on my iPad! This is why every attempt to restore took so long.
I decided to restore as new, spend a day restoring the apps I really used. Doing so gave me a quick iPad with only bout a quarter of the storage used.
Granted it was a pain in the arse, but I wrote it off as in the old days when you had to do this with windows 95 just to keep a stable system.
I DO have some data in a few files of the now unused backup but a quick google search finds a couple Mac programs out there that will allow you go extract audio recordings, app data files etc. from the backup. I'll do that someday if I even miss the files I've probably forgotten that are there.
Anyway, there was nothing wrong with my hardware. I think there were just some troublesome setup items that 7.1 didn't like. Once set up as new, the ipad was fine.

It's a good idea to backup your Mac Address Book application and iCal Calendars application from each application. This way you can go back and pull out items if you lose something. I do this everyday.
