How to burn Powerpoint presentation to IMovie?

Can I take my Powerpoint presentation and save as a movie and then burn to a DVD via IMovie?
I am attempting to view this at home on a DVD player before presenting the PPT to a group on a big screen soon. I want to see how it comes across on a bigger screen than what I have on my monitor. Any help is appreciated!

If you have iDVD and a DVD burner (SuperDrive) on your mac, you can choose that as an export option in iMovie.
Or you can save your movie to the desktop as a Full Quality Movie and drag it to iDVD from there.
Here's a great tutorial:

  • Powerpoint Presentation to IMovie!

  • How can a PowerPoint presentation be shown inside the front panel of a given application ?

I´m developing a application and I thought it would be a great idea if I could somehow show a PowerPoint presentation inside its front panel. Can it be done using LabVIEW active x vis or can´t it be done at all ?
    Thanks in advance !!

Like I said, I tried that option (and even got it work somehow, by connecting nodes from other places and using type casts), but I don't think it can manage that in a real app.
After thinking about this some more, I've come to an unlikable conclusion - it's possible that there is no AX control for PP. Not for animation, anyway. If I remember correctly, when you open a PP presentation in Internet Explorer, you see the slides, but not the animation. If an AX control would exist, I'm sure IE would use it, which is why I think there probably isn't one.
You can get a presentation into an AX container very easily by choosing the third option (open from file). Then, if you select a PP presentation, it will open in the container. However, if I remember correctly, you have no properties and methods to control it, and I don't think it will show the animation, so it's a bit useless.
Maybe someone does know of a way...

  • How to burn DVD disc of iMovie playable on Blueray

For years I have been easily creating movies with my vacation photos, adding effects, music, transitions and titles, etc. on my PC using Windows software and then burning the movie to a blank DVD+R disc which has always been playable on every DVD and Blue Ray player that I have tried (mine is a Panasonic model BD35).  I have recently made a transition to a Mac (the one with 27" screen and Yosemite system) and have learned how to use iMovie and, after much trial and error, have used free software, called "burn" to make a DVD that only plays on an older LG DVD player (model LDA 830) - however, the disc is "unsupportable " on my Blue Ray player (I also used a trial version of "Aimer", with the same result).  After spending several hours with an Apple support expert in their iMovie Department, I tried a slightly different method (that he had discovered from a customer with the same issue) using only the Apple DVD/CD external burner and whatever system it has for burning discs.  For me, this effort resulted in a disc that is "unsupported" on my BlueRay player and "error" on my DVD player.  The Apple expert suggested getting Apple TV - yeah, buy more Apple stuff and that solves everything! This issue has been a popular one with Apple computers and so I am amazed that it has not found an elegant solution by now.  This should not require an Einstein to achieve the result desired by many customers (as opposed to whatever result Apple is aiming at), but maybe there is one out there who can also communicate the solution in easy to understand steps?  Help, please?!?

I am beginning to think that I should have stuck to user-friendly Windows.
As Barney-15E noted, you can still purchase and use the boxed versions of iLife with Yosemite. Pretty cheap at only $30 - $35. It has iMovie to create your video sequence, and iDVD to author the disks from what you build in iMovie.
Ruthless people with cold blood coursing through their veins run Apple - probably descendants of the fictional Mr. Potter from "It's a Wonderful Life"!  Ahhhh.. There, that feels better.
    I like it!
Unfortunately, the reality is DVD and Blu-ray is heading the way of floppy disks. Here's an interesting headline I ran across today. No Surprise: DVD Sales Plunged Over 40 Percent Last Year. Thing is, that statement was from 2011, marking a 40% drop from 2010 with sales of 47 billion. Sound like a lot? Not compared to how far the medium has fallen in just three more years. Only 12.2 billion in 2014.
Apple completely dropped DVD Studio Pro, and Apple isn't the only one to blame. Adobe also dropped all further development of Encore, it's DVD and Blu-ray authoring app. CS6 was the last version of that we'll ever see. You can still get it if you have the CC subscription. You choose to install an older version of Premiere Pro. It then installs Premiere Pro CS6 and Encore CS6. You then uninstall Premiere Pro CS6 since you don't need it; you already have Premiere Pro CC.
The mistake the industry is making is that not everyone in the world has access to high speed Internet. Sure, I can "purchase" my movies from Amazon and other online sources, but I can only watch my purchased movies or shows if a) I have Internet access, and b) it's fast enough where I am at the time to stream it. There is no such problem with disks. Take them with you and watch them anywhere. The only fault they have is either losing the disk, or damaging it.

  • How to show PowerPoint presentation using laptop as 2nd screen

I bought my Playbook to use as a second screen for my laptop.  Apparently I can't do that.  Now I want to use my Playbook to control the PowerPoint on my laptop so that I can show it to clients.  My laptop doesn't appear to have an HDMI port.  Any solutions? (It has a port that looks like HDMI but one side is square instead of 45 degrees.

  • How to burn a powerpoint 2013 presentation to a DVD R and or USB flash drive.

My Powerpoint 2013 slideshow includes photo's, clip art with transitions and animations and embedded music.   I want to
burn this presentation to either  a DVD disk or a USB flash drive and send it to a friend.   My friend has a windows 7 desktop
computer and a DVD player attached to a TV.   Ideally I want to know how to burn the presentation to a DVD so that the presentation can be played back on the TV using the DVD player.    I do not want to lose any of the transitions
or animations when I burn the presentation to a DVD.          I know most TV's have a USB connection but have no idea how this works if the
presentation is copied to a USB flash drive.   What are my best options to keep the integrity of the presentation intact, and how do I go about doing this?   I need detailed instructions please.   Thanks in advance
    for your assistance.

    Hi,
The factor of keeping the integrity of presentation when you burn this presentation to either a DVD disk or a USB flash drive depends on performance of DVD disk and USB flash drive.
There are two ways to put PowerPoint presentation on a DVD convert PPT to video.
    1. Convert PPT Files To DVD is to use a screen capture software.
    2. Convert and Burn PowerPoint Presentation onto DVD would be to use a professional PowerPoint to DVD converter software.
    For more detail information:

If your TV doesn’t have built-in processors or Windows installed, it can’t run PowerPoint presentations in their native environment from a USB connectors. If so, you should convert it to video format first.

  • How do I get PowerPoint presentation to display properly without having PowerPoint?

Suggestions on how to get PowerPoint presentation to display properly aligned on MacBookPro? These are available for download as ppt, pps & pdf
Our co just came out with new presentations in PowerPoint. They are going toward iPad2, & suggest using Documents to Go on an iPad. But I'm trying to play the presentation on my MacBookPro 13" (April 2010), Snow Leopard. I have iWork & so it opens in Keynote which does not display it quite right. The alignment is off--it appears that the relationships between text boxes isn't quite the same. So there is a long table with arrows pointing to the totals at the bottom but the arrows are over the text.
I tried looking at it in Parallels 5 (Win 7) & it opened in Open Office. That looked better, but several slides aren't aligned right. They have horizontal lines between bullet points & the lines "creep" so that as it goes down the page the lines move up closer to the text & then on top of the text.
Not real up on PowerPoint or Keynote, but I'm guessing maybe the resolution or something is different that throws the alignment off. I am learning Keynote but had just dabbled with PowerPoint & of course had played slide shows created in PowerPoint that had been sent to me which usually didn't have as much text. Also if its just me looking at it, I can manage if it isn't lined up right, but to show to others, it needs to look
I need these to display properly since this is something to use with prospective clients. Also the presentation is designed so that different offices can select which slides they want to use. Our office is not using all of them. So I need to be able to select the slides as well as have them display properly.
Wondering if I could choose a power point reader with the pps to play it rather than having Keynote if that would work, but not sure how to do that.
I think the pdf displayed properly, but don't think I can select slides with that.
So how can I be able to select PowerPoint slides, & get them to display properly?  At 1st I thought it might be that I didn't have the font used, but it shows as Trebuchet MS which also shows in my font list on the mac side.
I would prefer not to have to buy PowerPoint & would prefer to not have to use Parallels or Bootcamp, although I can if needed. I purchased Outlook 2007 for Windows which I used to use to sync with my old Win mobile phone. thankfully I was able to get rid of that & get an iPhone & now use the iLife aps rather than needing Outlook.
Also related to this presentation are related files that can be downloaded in either mp3 or mp4.  I really don't know what the difference is or why choose one or the other.

OK, I found what seems to work. That is to open the actual ppt version of the download (not the one that had already been opened & saved in Keynote) in Open Office. So I had to open Open Office & then navigate to the file to open it so that it didn't open in Keynote.
At a One to One training on Keynote where I asked for help with this today he noted that it showed that the presentation had been created in an older version of PowerPoint--apparently 2003 for Windows which could explain some of the issues.
Opening it in Open office it displayed mostly ok.  There were 2 or 3 or so slides where I had to tweak horizontal lines between bullet points that had crept up so some where through the text rather than under it. So I just selected the lines & nudged them into position.
Its not perfect & for some reason, some of the lines seem a hair thicker than others (which I guess I could go back & figure out how to use the line thickness tool to adjust, but think I will leave well enough alone for now).
As near as I can tell, this seems to work about equally well doing this on the Mac side or in Parallels in Windows 7. So will stick with the Mac side.
This allows me to run the slide show with me controlling when the different bullet points, etc display. It didn't have any exotic animations or transitions--just rather plain vanilla ones.

  • How can I burn a DVD from iMovie from my Mac book pro

  • I created a powerpoint presentation and used idvd to burn, the text is blurry? how do i fix this

I created a powerpoint presentation, used idvd to burn disk. the text is a bit blurry. how can i correct?

but the presentation can not have any movement, transistions or music
It's possible to create an iDVD slideshow from a PP presentation with still slides of each PP page.
Here's how to get any file into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
1 - open the presentation in Powerpoint and select all of the pages in the "page" mode (don't remember what that mode is called)..
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3  - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
Note:  If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (the 300 dpi setting is primarily for images bound for iPhoto.books).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.
Open iDVD and create a slideshow with the "+" button.  Go to the Media/Photos browser at the right and drag the album with the PP pages into the slideshow window.
NOTE:  if there are more than 99 slides in the presentation this method will result in a pause at slide 100 due to the fact that DVD standards only allow 99 chapters in any slideshow and each slide is considered a chapter.  iDVD gets around this limitation by renumbering slide 100 back to 1 and so forth.  The pause can be minimized, but not eliminated, by following the workflow below:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • IDVD is missing in my Mac pro. How do I burn a DVD from iMovie project?

I have a new Mac pro and prepared a project in imovie. When I activated the share button for iDVD in iMovie, the application was not found. Any idea on how to burn my movie project to a DVD?

If you are still within your 15 day return period,  nicely explain that you may return the computer without iDVD. That usually does the trick.  (Ask to speak to a senior advisor.)

If that doesn't work you can purchase iLife 11  (includes iDVD) on disk (don't get the download) for about $39.

  • How can I import an i-tune into a powerpoint presentation?

I am preparing a slide show for my wife's birthday on powerpoint 3.0, and I am a beginner. I want to play a song and show 93 slides. When I try to import the song by a file name, I can get into itunes, and I can select the artist and get to the album folder, but I can rarely get the song title itself to appear, and even when it does, I get a message saying that I have not designated the proper path, and tells me to check the path.
Does anyone out there know how to break through past the artist and album name and load an itune into a powerpoint presentation through the "insert" and "movies and sounds" command features?
I can play the music through the CD player and do the slide show, but I want to put the music into the presentation so that I can put the whole thing into a CD.
    Can anyone help? Thanks

You probably need to link directly to the music not going through iTunes. If the music is from iTunes store you will need to convert to mp3 first then link to the mp3 version.

Do you need to do a presentation, or do you need to do a PowerPoint presentation?
PowerPoint is presentation software by Microsoft, part of Microsoft Office. If you want to use it, you need to buy it from Microsoft.
Apple has its own presentation software, called Keynote, and it's quite well regarded. However, it is not bundled with Mac OS X, and you have to buy it from Apple, either by itself, or as part of a suite called iWork, which is a sort of counterpart to Microsoft Office.
If you need compatibility with PowerPoint, but can't afford to buy it, you can try OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Both are free; they are based on the same software and they are designed for a high degree of compatibility with MS Office. There is also NeoOffice, based on the same software as the other two; it is supposed to be more Mac-like than the others, but, although theoretically free, it requires a (relatively) small fee to download, which means it's not really free. None of the three is as well polished or well supported as MS Office or iWork, but they do work quite well.
