How to burn to DVD without using a menu

How can I burn a project to DVD without using a menu? When I open iDVD, it wants me to select a menu. I just want my project to play without using any kind of menu. Can someone walk me through this? Thanks.

If you use iDVD it is quite simple: after creating the iDVD project, open the tree view, where the project is presented as a tree of menus. Drag your movie from the finder to the top (root) node of the tree, and burn the DVD. Your movie will be played just after inserting the DVD in the player, without showing any menu.

  • How to burn to DVD without iDVD??

So I just made my first movie on iMovie11.  it is 72 minutes long and I want to burn it to a DVD to be able to play in my DVD player.  I have a new iMac with iLife already installed so I do not have iDVD and not sure I want to purchase iLife disc set all over again just to get it.  What other software can i download and what steps do I need to take to be able to watch my movie on any DVD player?

There is free open source software called Burn that will burn DVDs. Here is a link.
If you wish to pay for software, there are many, including TOAST TITANIUM from Roxio. Apple's retail copy of iLife 11, and Apple's Compressor.
Of these, I would say that iDVD is known for being able to create very professional looking DVDs with intros, menus, lots of interesting templates.
Toast is much simpler and the menus and templates are more plain.
Compressor is a professional tool that does a lot more than make DVDs. Don't expect much in the way of menus or templates.
Burn, I have never tried, since I have iDVD and Toast for those ocasions when I need to burn a DVD. However, since it is free, I think it is worth a try.
Each software package is a little different, but in general, in iMovie, you can use the SHARE menu to SHARE/MOVIE in Large size. Save the movie to your desktop or someplace you can easily find it. Then drag it into the tool of your choice. You can alsouse SHARE/MEDIA BROWSER/LARGE if you have iDVD or Toast.

  • How can I burn a dvd without using iDVD?

It doesn't come with new macs anymore. I want to burn an iMovie i made, but my new mac didn't come with iDVD. I asked someone at an apple store and they told me that they weren't making it anymore. I need to burn something and make a menu, but I don't know how?!?!?! I need help!

Make a couple of phone calls.
iDVD is a “Must Have".   (Yes, it should be included.)
Call Apple they will sent out iDVD at no charge.
    800-692-7753
    800-275-2273
Most people report that by asking here:   http://www.apple.com/feedback/idvd.html
    or here:   http://www.apple.com/contact/
they got a free copy of iDVD.
If that doesn't work you can purchase iLife 11 on disk (don't get the download) for about $39.

  • HT5148 How to I burn a project straight to DVD without using compressor?

I try to burn a project to DVD and am not able to do so.  How can I complete this without using Compressor?

Sounds like a porblem with your DVD burner. Try making a DVD to your hard drive and burning it using Disk Utility.

how can I burn a dvd without themes?

    (From fellow poster Mishmumken: )
How to create a DVD in iDVD without menu (there are several options):
    1. Easy: Drop your iMovie in the autoplay box in iDVD's Map View, then set your autoplay item (your movie) to loop continously. Disadvantage: The DVD plays until you hit stop on the remote
    2. Still easy: If you don't want your (autoplay) movie to loop, you can create a black theme by replacing the background of a static theme with a black background and no content in the dropzone (text needs to be black as well). Disadvantage: The menu is still there and will play after the movie. You don't see it, but your disc keeps spinning in the player.
    3. Still quite easy but takes more time: Export the iMovie to DV tape, and then re-import using One-Step DVD.
Disadvantage: One-Step DVD creation has been known to be not 100% reliable.
    4. (My preferred method) Easy enough but needs 3rd party software: Roxio Toast lets you burn your iMovie to DVD without menu - just drag the iMovie project to the Toast Window and click burn. Disadvantage: you'll need to spend some extra $$ for the software. In Toast, you just drop the iMovie project on the Window and click Burn.
    5. The "hard way": Postproduction with myDVDedit (freeware)
    Tools necessary: myDVDedit ( http://www.mydvdedit.com )
    • create a disc image of your iDVD project, then double-click to mount it.
    • Extract the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a location of your choice. select the VIDEO_TS folder and hit Cmd + I to open the Inspector window
    • Set permissions to "read & write" and include all enclosed items; Ignore the warning.
    • Open the VIDEO_TS folder with myDVDedit. You'll find all items enclosed in your DVD in the left hand panel.
    • Select the menu (usually named VTS Menu) and delete it
    • Choose from the menu File > Test with DVD Player to see if your DVD behaves as planned. If it works save and close myDVDedit.
    • Before burning the folders to Video DVD, set permissions back to "read only", then create a disc image burnable with Disc Utility from a VIDEO_TS folder using Laine D. Lee's DVD Imager:
    http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/applescript/dvdimager.html
Our resident expert, Old Toad, also recommends this: there is a 3rd export/share option that give better results.  That's to use the Share ➙ Media Browser menu option.  Then in iDVD go to the Media Browser and drag the movie into iDVD where you want it.
    Hope this helps!

  • Using ENCORE to burn straight to DVD without creating a menue.

An Adobe on-line training video said that a user could use Encore to burn an Adobe Premier CS4 project straight to DVD without creating a menue.  It said just go to FILE>EXPORT in PREMIER and click on EXPORT TO ENCORE.  However, that option does not show up when I click on file export.  Does anyone know why?
    Thanks!

    Premier Pro CS4  4.1.0  (MC:166418))
    Encore CS4  4.0.1.048
I did find a way to send the project to Encore via Dynamic Link but I still
did not see a way to burn it to DVD without creating a menu.
    Thanks!

  • Burn a DVD without themes?

How do you burn a DVD without themes? I have an MP4 that I want to put on DVD and maybe make chapter markings, but I do not want to use any of the themes - just plug it straight in and it goes to the movie.

    Hi
    MP4 - Don't know
    No theme - either
    a. Drop movie into the upper left most box in the box-plot view in iDVD window
(button with three small squares under the window)
    (Auto-play box)
    b. or - copy back to Camera and a new miniDV tape. Then use the OneStep DVD function - when starting a new DVD project.
    Yours Bengt W

  • HT1479 I would like to know how to burn a dvd in such a way that each image can be skipped over by pressing the skip button.

I would like to know how to burn a dvd in such a way that each image can be skipped over by pressing the skip button? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Here's how top get a slideshow that will let the viewer manually control the forward and backward movement of the slides with the forward and back buttons on the DVD remote.
1 - put the images you want to use in an iPhoto album.
2 - launch iDVD, select a theme and add a slideshow using the "+" button at the bottom:
3 - click on the Media button at the lower right hand corner of the window and then click on the Photos button.
4 - locate the iPhoto album containing your photos and drag it into the left hand pane:
5 - select Side Duration to Manual.
In order to get the maximum manual control of the slides you cannot have add any music to the slideshow.  If you do add music the slideshow will continue you advance unless you pause the slideshow and/or use the advance/back buttons and then pause.
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Insert a blank disc into the optical drive.  choose Open Finder from the pop-up menu. The disc appears on your desktop.
Double-click the disc to open then drag the files and folders you want to burn to the window.
Arrange and rename the files if needed.
Choose File > Burn and follow the instructions.

  • How to burn a DVD with other DVD??

I'm new using the Mac OS. I don't know how to burn a DVD using another DVD, I try using the programs iDVD and iMovie HD but I think that they are for DVD creation, not for burning using another DVD
    Thanks

You can also donate to Mac the Ripper for version 3.0 beta. It has alot of new features that are pretty cool. Here is a link that shows some of the new stuff.

  • Burn a DVD without IDVD

how do I burn a DVD without idvd?

There really isn't a 3rd party DVD authoring application for Macs that can hold a candle to iDVD.  You can purchase iDVD (and the discontinued iWeb) by purchasing a copy of the boxed iLife 11 disk from one of the 3rd party retailers like Amazon.com: iLife 11. It's well worth the price IMO.

  • How do i install opensolaris without using the virtual box??

    hi.
    i am new to solaris
i am currently using a windows XP OS
i got down the opensolaris cd from SUN
how do i install opensolaris without using a virtual box ?

The OpenSolaris CD is a "Live CD". You can boot off of the CD, and either run the OpenSolaris operating system directly, or you can select the "Install" icon on the LiveCD desktop. You can find full instructions here: http://dlc.sun.com/osol/docs/content/IPS/getst1.html
Do you want to keep your Windows OS on the disk? If so, then you want to follow the instructions for partitioning your disk (unless you already have a spare partition).

  • How to connect to AD without using ADWS?

How to connect to AD without using ADWS? Is it possible to do it? If yes, can teach me how to connect to AD and find their attributed?

    Hi Noobycy,
There are few tools to find AD attributes without ADWS. See options you have below
    1.ADFIND -
http://www.joeware.net/freetools/tools/adfind/  This is a command Line tool
    2.
    The ADSIEDIT tool
from the Windows Support Tools is a great tool to "explore" the AD.

Hello! I'm out of the country and all my iWeb information is on my computer at home. Now I need to make changes on the webpage... how can i do that without using the computer i made the page on? Thank you!!

iWeb uses the domain.sites2 files to store its assets.
    You'll find it here :
    ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
where ~ is your Home directory.
If you take a computer with you, you have to store that file in the same location.
It's not different from taking documents with you if you want to edit them.
A solution is to remotely control your computer at home.
TeamViewer, LogMeIn, Apple Remote Desktop or any VNC application you can use, like "Chicken of the VNC".

    Thank you,
Yes we've done that. They've confirmed a problem with the links/scripts on the note. The 10.1 and up version was not really 10.1 and up.
As they would not have a new version available in time for the move we needed to perform, we switched our approach to using dbms_redefinition instead.
    Thanks for the reply,
    Tony
