How to burn valid video DVDs from VIDEO_TS folder

Hello,
Sorry if this topic is not in the proper location, but as the question is broad, I thought this was the best place to ask.
I just want to burn files located in a VIDEO_TS folder, properly ripped on the hard drive, so as to make a valide Video DVD.
I already attempted to use Burn, to no avail; it fails withing the first seconds, and outputs this line in the Console:
19/06/09 15:24:16 /Applications/Burn.app/Contents/MacOS/Burn[596] Unexpected quarantine error: -43; ignoring
I don't want to use Toast since it's not a freeware, and using Nero on Ubuntu does provide a valid DVD.
Thx for help

I don't want to use Toast since it's not a freeware
But it's worth every cent of it! I have been using it for a long time and can't even remember the last time I stuffed up a disk, burning DVDs Music & MP3 CDS, photo cd's data etc.
I have tried a couple of freeware and shareware programs that are supposed to be ok, but spent most of the time producing drink coasters. if there is one program I think everyone should fork out for it would be Roxio Toast.
maybe someone can recommend a freebie, but I will always swear by Toast and think it has easily paid for itself already.
Cheers

  • Burning playable DVD from VIDEO_TS Folder

A friend of mine had a DVD Demo Reel that was damaged and wouldn't play, so i was able to rip the files (VIDEO_TS) folder onto my hard drive from the DVD using MacTheRipper.
Is there a program (preferably free) that i can burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD so it will be playable in a DVD Player? I used to use Discribe to do it (came free with my ext burner) but i can't get that program to work on my new MacBookPro.
    ANY help is greatly appreciated!

  • Burn DVD from VIDEO_TS folder

Hello! In 10.4 we used to burn video DVDs in Toast by dragging a folder containing VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and clicking burn. Is there any built-in functionality in 10.5 that will achieve this, or must we purchase a new version of Toast? We also have Final Cut Studio 2, if that would help.

As Kurt stated, a version of Toast that works in 10.4 also will work in 10.5 for what you're doing. As for anything built in to OS 10.5, you need to use the application DVD Imager to create a UDF-format disc image before burning it with Disk Utility to a video DVD, just as in 10.4.

Steve Jobs "BluRay is a bag of hurt"
Not if you buy FCPX from them at $300.
Then they will provide you with the ability to burn both DVD and BluRay.
    Not dead yet !
The "BluRay is a bag of hurt"  is a bunch of hooey.
Apple's business model is for downloaded everything. They don't sell software/movies/music on physical media.  It's as simple as that.
I have iTunes, Netflix and Flixster. But the movie watching experience is always vastly superior when I just pop in a Blu-ray and watch my movie in 1080P and 7.1 sound.

  • How to burn a slide show DVD in Elements 11?  Can only find how to burn a Video CD, which doesn't help.

I'm trying to burn a DVD slide show in Elements 11, but can find only how to burn a Video CD.  Is burning a DVD possible in 11?

Do you know if it is Vista Home Premium?
If yes or if you are not sure, look for Windows DVD Maker,
On my Vista Home Premium laptop whe I click on "All Pprograms", within the list of programs I see "Windows DVD Maker" listed as a program.
If you have this program then my suggestion is to use the PSE slide show editor to Output a file to your hard disk
    (use the
-- the "Save to a File"  instead of the "Burn to a Disc"
    and
-- the "Movie File - .wmv"
    and for slide size choose:
    DVD-NTSC if in USA
or DVD-PAL if in Europe or other PAL TV country
Save the wmv file in a hard drive folder where it will be convenient for you to reference for later use in the Windows DVD Maker program.
Once this wmv file has been successfully created, you can play it back with Windows Media Player to verify that you like its contents.
Your next step will be to use the Windows DVD Maker program to write the formats of movie files required for the TV DVD player playback to the DVD disc. I recommend closing Photoshop Elements and then open Windows DVD Maker from the Windows Start menu list.
Windows DVD Maker is a "follow the instructions on the screen" program.
However, one point of confusion is how to add the PSE created slide show to DVD Maker program.
The answer is that you use that .wmv file (from the PSE slide show editor) -- it is now in a video format and is a "video". So you can follow the onscreen directions to add video to DVD Maker.
Note 1: I recommended closing PSE before starting the Windows DVD Maker in order to conserve your PC system resources. It is probably not absolutely necessary.
Note 2: You could also produce the DVD for TV playback by adding Adobe Premiere Elements to your computer.  However just for the purpose of making the DVD from your slideshow I anticipate that using Windows DVD Maker will be simpler and faster.
Note 3: I recommend using a DVD-R disc. What brand of discs do you have?

How can I capture video clips from my own DVD's or You Tube type of media, I am trying to create a presentation using Key Note

As long as you are using the clips with copyright permission (the organisation I work for has this for some distributers) try Wondershare (I am sure other converters are available). You can install an extension for Safari (I use FastestTube 2.2.9.3) to download from YouTube. However, please be aware that you could be breaking copyright laws when so doing.

  • How to burn slideshow to dvd

How burn slideshow from aperture to dvd

Have you already created a slideshow in Aperture (File > New > Slideshow)? Then use the "Export" button of the upper right corner to render the slideshow as a video file. Set the "Export for" pop-up menu to the format you need for the device where you want to watch the slideshow.
Once you have the video, you can either use the Finder to burn a data DVD from it (but that cannot be played in a DVD player) or use burn software to create a video DVD, that you can play in a DVD player. You will need special software to do this (Burn, iDVD), see this user tip for options:

  • How to burn a Video CD?

Hey all! I downloaded few videos which are in Real Player format. I want to burn these on a CD and view it on big screen. I copied and pasted them on a CD and played it in my CD player but its not working. Also, what do I do for burning a video DVD? I tried iMovie HD and iDVD but it gives a message that it accepts only files which are supported by Quick Time Player. I do not know how to play the videos in real player format in Quick time. Is there a way or all the videos should be supported by Quick time player itself? In windows I used to burn CDs and DVD's using NERO software, which has options clearly like burn a video cd or audio cd etc..
Please help me out with this. Thanks for your time.

I use Burn alot, works very well for what you are wanting to do.

  • How do I upload video clips from camera onto icloud

How do I upload videos taken from my camera which are on my laptop to iCloud?

    Hi Lynda
miniDVD Cameras are not to use when one wants to edit the material
they are built for - direct playback
iMovie and FinalCut needs miniDV (tape) Cameras with a FW-out
Your Camera probably doesn't have FW out but USB and analog out.
You can: load Your movie file into the Mac via a DVD-reader that is not slot loaded
and from here use converting programs to get a file-type that iM or FCE/P
    can read (With quality losses)
    or
Connect an A/D-box from analog-out on Camera and FW to Mac.
    Also with quality losses.
Recommendation Primary: Exchang Camera to a miniDV (tape) one
    really the best way.
    Yours Bengt W

Turns out the answer to that question changes if you ask it more than 4 times, so ask it again....
The answer depends on the type of video files you want to convert.  If they are DRM protected commercial videos, no help can be given here.  Google.
