Hi,
projects are a design time functionality. So what is the use case? I it is a Java object stored in the JAR file then you would configure this JAR file in the ViewController project library section (project properties)

    Thanks in adv.

Any web app creating tutorial can. You know, if this doesn't ring a bell with you at all, I don't really feel inclined to explain it to you because I think you shouldn't yet be dealing with JEE in the first place.

  • How to refer a .jar file in the code.

How to refer a .jar file in the code.
I want to use a library dnsjava.jar, which I download from the internet. I want to know how to refer it
If I am compiling the code on Solaris
If I compiling the code on windows using eclipse.
I added the following line in my code to refer to this library. But it always complains of not found the class
    import org.xbill.DNS.*;
I tried the following to add this library but did not work
On eclipse/windows: Went to window-> preferences -> BuildPath _> class path Variable.
On Solaris: Could not add this library /opt/java_reference/v1.6.0_04/jre/lib. Although I am logged in as root, but not able to add the library there. Complains of Permission denied.

Set the classpath option when compiling.
    javac -classpath /path/to/lib/dnsjava.jar YourProgram.java
I don't use Eclipse, but it probably has a library list on your project preferences. Add it there.

  • How to load a Jar file in the class path?

How to load a Jar file which contains class files, images, etc.. in the classpath without using URLClassLoader.

You don't "load" jars. If it's on the classpath, you can obtain individual resources from it using various methods on either Class or ClassLoader. Do you mean "how to add a jar to the classpath at runtime"? Can't be done without using a classloader, typically URLClassLoader or a subclass thereof. Why you want to not use the proven method is beyond me. Presumably because you don't understand classloading. In which case, forget it.

  • How to call external jar files in EJB project for CE

    Hi,
I would be thankful if someone could help me with this -
I need to call the external jar files into my EJB project - Here is what I have done and am getting runtime exception as  -
    java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/glance/pdf/pt/PTDoc
    1. Created a EJB  project" HelloWorld "  using Java perspective in NWDS 7.1 called with client as HelloWorldClient and EAR project as HelloWorldEAR.
    2. Am working on HelloWorld project (1st one).
    3. In my code I am instantiating a class which is a class in one of  the external jar file that I need to refer in my project.
    4. I have set the Java Build path but it works only for the compile time and fails during runtime.
    5. Have read I need to create external library DC and refer in my project "HelloWorld".
Can anyone help me with exact steps what needs to be done - during creation of external library project and then for my "HelloWorld" EJB project. How would I be able to reference or set the external library project in my EJB project?
Looking forward to hear from experts.
    Thanks,
    Shiv

    Hi Edson,
I tried it , but it still gives me runtime exception.
    javax.ejb.EJBException: nested exception is: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/glance/pdf/pt/PTDoc
    java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/glance/pdf/pt/PTDoc
    Steps I performed are -
    1. Created a library project and created 2 Public parts "Compilation" and "Assembly"
    2. Build the library project.
Now in my EJB project using Project Explorer - set the classpath and added both compilation jar and assembly jar files.
This is how the classpath entries for external library looks like -
    <classpathentry kind="lib" path="/LocalDevelopmentLocalDevelopmentexternallibrarypdftoolsforwatermarkingdemo.sap.com/gen/default/public/WatermarkAssembly/lib/java/demo.sap.comexternallibrarypdftoolsforwatermarking~WatermarkAssembly.jar"/>
         <classpathentry kind="lib" path="/LocalDevelopmentLocalDevelopmentexternallibrarypdftoolsforwatermarkingdemo.sap.com/gen/default/public/WatermarkCompilation/lib/java/demo.sap.comexternallibrarypdftoolsforwatermarking~WatermarkCompilation.jar"/>
I have also added the jar files I used in my external library project as "User Library" from Java Build Path . I dont do it , then the code fails during compilation itself.

  • How to install the jar files for the cf extensions

    Hi,
In adobe labs I saw some extensions you can download for
cf/flex. They seem to be a bunch of jar files and a plugins
directory. How do I use these. I did not see any documentation?
Where do these files go? I think a web-inf dir or something like
that but I am not sure.
    That is question 1.
    Question 2:
If I want to build a flex application that uses CF, what is
the basic site structure that one would use that would allow them
to have the code relatively in the same spot and make use of remote
objects. Typically we have a web server IIS or apache or whatever
or even CF's own built in webserver, under that we have our apps
    wwwroot/myApp
    wwwroot/salesCRM
This is fine for a traditional CF application, but if we are
using flex, it seems like it wants to default all my flex files
into the mydocuments/flex folder and not under any webroot, I guess
I am looking on how to setup my files in terms of developing an app
    that will utilize Flex/CF.
    Thanks
    -WestSide

    Found it.
I had to change the value of the parameter com.sap.aii.connect.repository.name under CE - Administration - Properties Administration.

  • How to build a jar file so the program can access its resources folder?

I have a java program written by someone else in which I have made a trivial change (I changed the background color). The jar file runs but it does not find one of the resources file.
Here is the project folder's structure
    mainClass.txt (manifest text file)
folder resources (includes file Java does not find: order.txt, a text file)
folder CFPT ( includes .class files)
    folder cpl (includes .class files)
    folder results
    I tried
    jar cvmf mainClass.txt CFPT0.jar CFPT/*.class cpl/*.class resources results
    I get a lot of "adding: resources/..."
including the one pertaining to the files which is later not found
    adding: resources/order.txt(in = 411) (out= 169)(deflated 58%)
the code that chokes right now is the following,
    Object i = new Object();
    InputStream is = i.getClass().getResourceAsStream("/resources/" + resourceName);
when I run java -jar CFPT0.jar the program runs
but it soon gives an error, cannot find resourceName order.txt (is == null)
I have Core Java Volume 1 page 498 but it does not help me figure out what I am doing wrong.
Can somone help me build the jar file correctly so the program can find its resources?
Is this a classpath issue? What do I need to do?

    My last mainClass.txt file content:
    Main-Class: CFPT.CFPTRunner
    Class-Path: ./resources ./results
    I also tried
    Class-Path: resources results
Initially I only had the first line.
I put back /resources in the java file as the / is necessary to indicate absolute path.
Otherwise it looks relative to calling class.
I tried adding the path on the second line of the manifest file per Wikipedia example
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classpath
    I looked at
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/lang/resources.html
If you use the -sourcepath option, the compiler searches the indicated path for source files; otherwise the compiler searches the user class path both for class files and source files.
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/lang/resources.html
    resources
I took out the -d classes and compiled the .class files right with the java files in case that was the problem
    javac -classpath . CFPT/CFPTRunner.java
    jar cvmf mainClass.txt CFPT0.jar CFPT/*.class cpl/*.class resources results
    java -jar CFPT0.jar
    Still no go

  • Which jar file for the classpath ?

At my office on my machine i have weblogic 8.1 and tomcat installed.
weblogic have 2.3 version of servlet and
tomcat have 2.4 version of servlet
weblogic is for production purpose (development of servlet, jsp and ejb)
and tomcat is for my own practice. (just for servlet and jsp)
i have weblogic.jar as well as servlet-api.jar in my class path.
now when i compile my servlets which jar file the compiler will use to create the classes.
if the compiler chooses servlet-api.jar will my servlet run in weblogic
    else
if the compiler chooses weblogic.jar will my servlet run in tomcat

i have weblogic.jar as well as servlet-api.jar in my class path. What does this mean? Do you have a system CLASSPATH environment variable?
    Bad idea.
now when i compile my servlets which jar file the
compiler will use to create the classes. You should set CLASSPATH using the -classpath option on javac.exe.
The compiler won't "choose" anything, because it has no idea how you'll deploy. It'll use the one that you tell it to. If you have just a system CLASSPATH it'll always use the first JAR that it finds with the packages it needs.
You need to specify exactly what you want the compiler to use.
In the case of servlet.jar it might not matter, because that's pretty standard. JSPs and EJBs are another story, however. If you change deployment, it's best to recompile and repackage the Web app.
Learn Ant. It'll help you automate this.
