How to call a Particular View from a View of Current Component

Hi Experts,
Pls let me get a solution for my small issue..
I do have 2 components cur_component and old_component which contain 2 Views each say, cur_vew1 & cur_view2 and old_view1 & old_view2 respectively.
Now, When i click a button in cur_view1 then it should call the view - old_view1 of old_component and when i click a button in cur_view2 then it should call the view - old_view2 of old_component.
When i tried, its calling the default view of the old_component. but i want to call the views of the old_component dynamically...
hope am clear enough about my issue..
Kindly help on me on this to solve this..
With Thanks in advance,
Amala

hi ,
have u done component usage to reuse ur old component in ur new component .
refer this article on component usage :
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2e71ce83-0b01-0010-11a4-98c28a33195f
to know , how to set the context attribute for visibility , u wud also like to go to this thread :
Re: How to SET a value to an attribute usibng WIZARD?
refer to Uday's reply in this thread as well  :
Call view of another WDA Component and pass the value to it
1) When you create your context at component controller level in component MAIN you have a property for the node which says as: "Interface Node" Just checkmark this checkbox. When you do this you would be able to share the data within your context nodes across other components.
2) Specify a default value of AA in the "Default Value" property of the attribute in component MAIN
3) Now go to your other component SUB which you would like to also get initialised. Define a usage of your component MAIN within this component.
4) Go to your component controller & create your context node & attribute with exactly the same names as how you had created in your MAIN component.
5) Do a mapping between the interface controller of your MAIN component & the component controller of your SUB component
6) You would be able to see that the appearance of the node has changed to an interface node. This means that your SUB component now has an exact replica of your MAIN components context data.

• How to call a particular event?

Hello All,
How to call a particular event like handle_data_changed after you press a button which is created in ALV.
Regards,
Lisa.

ALV (Abap List Viewer)
We can easily implement basic features of reports like Sort, Allign, Filtering, Totals-Subtotals etc... by using ALV. Three types of reports we can do by ALV as 1. Simple Report, 2. Block Reprot and 3. Hierarchical Sequential Report.
alv grid types
1) list/ grid
these are having rows and columns
function modules for this type are
REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY2)
2) HIERARCHY
this will have header and line items
function module for this type
REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY
3) tree
this will nodes and child type structure
function module for this type
REUSE_ALV_TREE_DISPLAY
4) APPEND
this can append all the different types of lists where each list has different number of columns
events associated with alvs
1) top of page
2) end of page
3) top of list
4) end of list
5) on double click
6) on link click
7) on user command
some useful links:
http://www.sapdevelopment.co.uk/reporting/alvhome.htm
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/99/49b844d61911d2b469006094192fe3/frameset.htm
Examples:
REPORT Z_ALV__ITEM .
TYPE-POOLS : slis.
Data
DATA : BEGIN OF itab OCCURS 0.
INCLUDE STRUCTURE t001.
DATA : flag tyPE c,
END OF itab.
*DATA: itab like t001 occurs 0 with header line.
DATA : alvfc TYPE slis_t_fieldcat_alv.
DATA : alvly TYPE slis_layout_alv.
data v_repid like sy-repid.
Select Data
v_repid = sy-repid.
SELECT * FROM t001 INTO TABLE itab.
*------- Field Catalogue
call function 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
exporting
i_program_name = v_repid
i_internal_tabname = 'ITAB'
I_STRUCTURE_NAME =
I_CLIENT_NEVER_DISPLAY = 'X'
i_inclname = v_repid
I_BYPASSING_BUFFER =

CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
it_fieldcat = alvfc[]
i_callback_program = v_repid
is_layout = alvly
TABLES
t_outtab = itab
EXCEPTIONS
program_error = 1
OTHERS = 2.
In very detail it's not easy, i believe it's better for you to test the function modules to work with ALV :
REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE to create the fieldcatalogue
REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY - to display the ALV in grid format
REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY - to display the ALV in list format
Anyone, here's one exemple of creating ALV reports :
REPORT ZALV_SLAS_GDF .
Declaração de Dados
TABLES: ZSLA_NIV_SAT.
selection-screen begin of block b1 with frame title text-001.
select-options DATA for ZSLA_NIV_SAT-DATA. " Data
select-options LIFNR for ZSLA_NIV_SAT-LIFNR. " Nº de conta fornecedor
select-options WERKS for ZSLA_NIV_SAT-WERKS. " Centro
select-options EBELN for ZSLA_NIV_SAT-EBELN. " Nº contrato
selection-screen end of block b1.
DATA: BEGIN OF itab1 OCCURS 100.
include structure ZSLA_NIV_SAT.
data: END OF itab1.
Outros dados necessários:
Campo para guardar o nome do report
DATA: i_repid LIKE sy-repid.
Campo para verificar o tamanho da tabela
DATA: i_lines LIKE sy-tabix.
Dados para mostrar o ALV
TYPE-POOLS: SLIS.
*DATA: int_fcat type SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV with header line.
DATA: int_fcat type SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV.
DATA: l_key TYPE slis_keyinfo_alv.
START-OF-SELECTION.
Ler dados para dentro da tabela imat
SELECT * FROM ZSLA_NIV_SAT
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab1
WHERE data in data
and lifnr in lifnr
and ebeln in ebeln
and werks in werks.
CLEAR: i_lines.
DESCRIBE TABLE itab1 LINES i_lines.
IF i_lines lt 1.
WRITE: / 'Não foram seleccionadas entradas.'.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
END-OF-SELECTION.
Agora, começa-se o ALV
Para usar o ALV, nós precisamos de uma estrutura do dicionário de
*dados DDIC ou de uma coisa chamada “Fieldcatalogue”.
Existe 2 maneiras de preencher a coisa referida acima:
*Automaticamente e Manualmente
Guardar o nome do programa
i_repid = sy-repid.
Create Fieldcatalogue from internal table
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
EXPORTING
I_PROGRAM_NAME =
i_repid
I_INTERNAL_TABNAME =
'ITAB1' "LETRAS GRANDES
I_INCLNAME =
i_repid
CHANGING
CT_FIELDCAT =
int_fcat[]
EXCEPTIONS
INCONSISTENT_INTERFACE =
1
PROGRAM_ERROR =
2
OTHERS =
3.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
WRITE: / 'Returncode', sy-subrc,
'from FUNCTION REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'.
ENDIF.
*Isto era o Fieldcatalogue
E agora estamos preparados para executar o ALV
Chama o ALV
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = i_repid
IT_FIELDCAT = int_fcat[]
I_DEFAULT = ' '
I_SAVE = ' ' "'A'
TABLES
T_OUTTAB = itab1
EXCEPTIONS
PROGRAM_ERROR = 1
OTHERS = 2.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
WRITE: /
'Returncode', sy-subrc, 'from FUNCTION REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
ENDIF.

• How to call jpf controller method from javascript

Can any one help me how to call pageflow controller method from JavaScript.\
Thanks.

Accessing a particular pageflow method from Javascript is directly not possible unless we do some real funky coding in specifying document.myForm.action = xyz...Heres what I tried and it did not work as expected: I found another workaround that I will share with you.
1. In my jsp file when I click a button a call a JavaScript that calls the method that I want in pageflow like this: My method got invoked BUT when that method forwards the jsp, it lost the portal context. I saw my returned jsp only on the browser instead of seeing it inside the portlet on the page of a portal. I just see contents of jsp on full browser screen. I checked the url. This does make the sense. I do not see the url where I will have like test1.portal?_pageLabe=xxx&portlet details etc etc. So this bottom approach will notwork.
document.getElementById("batchForm").action = "/portlets/com/hid/iod/Batches/holdBatch"; // here if you give like test1.portal/pagelable value like complete url...it may work...but not suggested/recommended....
document.getElementById("batchForm").submit;
2. I achieved my requirement using a hidden variable inside my netui:form tag in the jsp. Say for example, I have 3 buttons and all of them should call their own action methods like create, update, delete on pageflow side. But I want these to be called through javascript say for example to do some validation. (I have diff usecase though). So I created a hidden field like ACTION_NAME. I have 3 javascript functions create(), update() etc. These javascripts are called onclick() for these buttons. In thse functions first I set unique value to this hiddent field appropriately. Then submit the form. Note that all 3 buttons now go to same common action in the JPF. The code is like this.
document.getElementById("ACTION_NAME").value = "UPDATE";
document.getElementById("batchForm").submit.
Inside the pageflow common method, I retriev this hidden field value and based on its value, I call one of the above 3 methods in pageflow. This works for me. There may be better solution.
3. Another usecase that I want to share and may be help others also. Most of the time very common usecase is, when we select a item in a drop bos or netui:select, we want to invoke the pageflow action. Say we have 2 dropdown boxes with States and Cities. Anytime States select box is changed, it should go back to server and get new list of Cities for that state. (We can get both states and cities and do all string tokenizer on jsp itself. But inreality as per business needs, we do have to go to server to get dynamic values. Here is the code snippet that I use and it works for all my select boxes onChange event.
This entire lines of code should do what we want.
<netui:anchor action="selectArticleChanged" formSubmit="true" tagId="selectPropertyAction"/>
<netui:select onChange="document.getElementById(lookupIdByTagId('selectPropertyAction',this )).onclick();" dataSource="pageFlow.selectedArticleId" >
<c:forEach items="${requestScope.ALL_ARTICLE}" var="eachArticle">
<%-- workshop:varType="com.hid.iod.forms.IoDProfileArticleRelForm" --%>
<netui:selectOption value="${eachArticle.articleIdAsString}">${eachArticle.articleItemName}</netui:selectOption>
</c:forEach>
</netui:select>
See if you can build along those above lines of code. Any other simpler approches are highly welcome.
Thanks

• How to call a SQL function from an XSL expression

Hi
In R12, in Payroll Deposit adivce/Check writer, We need to sort the earnings tag <AC_Earnings> in to two different categories as regular and other earnings. In the DB and form level of element defintiion we have a DFF which differentiates between the two kinds of earnings. But the seeded XML that is gerneated by the check writer does not have this field.
The seeded template displays all the earnings in one column. How can we achieve this in the template without modifying the seeded XML.
The one approach i have is to write a function and based on the return value sort the data. For this I need to know :
1) How to call a SQL function from an XSL expression that is allowed in BI template.
If anyone ahs faced similar requirements please share your approach.

• How to call a web service from forms 9i

Hello all, I was trying to run the example on this website that shows how to call a webservice from forms, and I recieved an error. I am at the last step, where it tells me to create a button and add a when button pressed trigger. Here is the code I am using from the example:
DECLARE
jo ora_java.jobject;
rv ora_java.jobject;
ex ora_java.jobject;
BEGIN
jo := CurrencyExchangeServiceStub.new;
--This will get the exchange rate from US Dollars to UK Sterling.
rv := CurrencyExchangeServiceStub.getRate(jo,'USA','UK');
message (float_.floatValue(rv));
EXCEPTION
WHEN ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR then
message('Unable to call out to Java, ' ||ORA_JAVA.LAST_ERROR);
WHEN ORA_JAVA.EXCEPTION_THROWN then
ex := ORA_JAVA.LAST_EXCEPTION;
message(Exception_.toString(ex));
END;
It gives me an error on"Exception_.tostring" component must be declared. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am trying to figure out how to call an external WS from a form. Thanks.

IN forms Builder under Import java classes
Change the Import Classes field to java.lang.Exception and press Import. This will create a PL/SQL package for the Exception Java class. While this is not essential, it does make error reporting easier. Now press Close to dismiss the dialog.

• How to call a jsp page from oaf and run in jDeveloper

Hi all,
I created sample jsp and then tried.
String temp = "sample.jsp?";

It worked.
But when i tried with one of the custom page that i downloaded from server it is giving error.
But now i need to call that page.
Its Code is given on below link:
Re: how to call a jsp page from oaf
Please help me to do this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Raj

Raj,
1. Hope you have placed the custom jsp page (which you have downloaded from server) under "jdevhome\jdev\myhtml\OA_HTML" directory ?
2. Try to run the custom jsp page from Jdeveloper directly and check whether its working properly or not ?
(i.e. add jsp page to any project in Jdeveloper then right click on jsp page and select Run xxx.jsp)
3. If page errors out then custom jsp page seems require few parameters to run it successfully. Pass all requied parameters and test.
4. There is no problem in the way you are calling jsp page from OAF page.

I've read differents posts here and the 33097.1 metalink note (by the way, the first recommended link in this note is broken...), but there are lots of theorical concepts and no real examples to see how/from where invoke the WS
I'll have to call one webservice (I suppose the customer will give me the interface implementation)...but I've never did it with Applications so that's why I ask you for all the detailed steps...
I work with Forms 6i, Apps 11.5.10.2 and DB 9.2.0.7.
Thanks a lot.
Jose.

Hello Jose,
I did using java program to call BPEL web services in 11.5.10.
I pasted below the metalink note for your reference (Note:250964.1)
The idea is first write a java program to call the webservice (in my case it is calling an BPEL web service, so this may not help directly), test it.
Then port the java program as specified in the note, so that you could call your web service through concurrent manager scheduler.
Is this ok?
Thanks
Arun.

How to register and create a Java concurrent program for Oracle Applications
Release 11i
Solution
========
1. Create your Java Concurrent Program (JCP) , using a text editor.
/*===========================================================================+
Concurrent Processing Sample Code

FILENAME
Hello.java

DESCRIPTION
Sample Java concurrent program
About the simplest possible program, just writes a message to the
logfile and output file.

HISTORY
$Log$

+===========================================================================*/
package oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample;
import oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.*;
public class Hello implements JavaConcurrentProgram {
public static final String RCS_ID = "$Header$";
public void runProgram(CpContext ctx) {
ctx.getLogFile().writeln("-- Hello World! --", 0);
ctx.getOutFile().writeln("-- Hello World! --");
ctx.getReqCompletion().setCompletion(ReqCompletion.NORMAL, "");
=======================================
End Sample
=======================================
2. Create a sample directory under $JAVA_TOP:
$ mkdir $JAVA_TOPoracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample
3. Copy Hello.java into $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample:
$ cp $HOME/Hello.java $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample
4. Compile your java program:
javac $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/sample/Hello.java
5. Test at the command line with following syntax:
jre -Ddbcfile=$FND_TOP/secure/your_dbc_file.dbc \
-Drequest.outfile=./outfile \
oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run \
oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample.Hello
6. Register your custom java concurrent program with Oracle Applications.
a. Navigate: Concurrent > Program > Executable
b. Enter details into the form
Executable: JCPHELLO
Shortname: JCPHELLO
Application: Application Object Library
Execution Method: Java Concurrent Program
Execution File Name: Hello (Insert a name that does not contain space or period)
Execution File Path: oracle.apps.fnd.cp.sample
c. Save the details
d. Navigate: Concurrent > Program > Define
e. Enter details into the form
Program Name: JCPHELLO
Program Shortname: JCPHELLO
Application: Application Object Library
Executable: Choose JCPHELLO from LOV
Executable Options :
f. Save the details
7. Add this new concurrent request to your responsibility request group.
a. Navigate > Security > Responsiblity > Request
b. Query System Administrator
c. Add new row and choose TestJava
d. Save the changes.
8. Run your new Hello Java Concurrent Program
Navigate: Request > Run

• How to call a j-frame from a main frame

I use both NetBean 5.5 and Forte for Java4
i would like to know how to call a j-frame from a main jframe window when a button is clicked after
action performed or moused clicked is set
i.e Main jframe (window) has a button ---> (grades) click it
should open the sub-jframe named grades with all the grades showin in that frame
your help please thanks

It sounds as if you want the button to open a dialog that displays your data such as a JOptionPane and not a JFrame.
