How to call an URL from ABAP

Hi,
When an user clicks on a document display link in a SAP tranasction(for example FB02),an URL has to be called in the background(by ABAP) and the details of the URL should be displayed in a browser.
What are the possilbe options available in SAP4.7 to meet the above requirement?
Thanks in advance,
Leo

hi,
you can use call browser function
data url(200) type c.
url = 'your_url'.
CALL FUNCTION 'CALL_BROWSER'
  EXPORTING
    URL                          = url
   WINDOW_NAME                  = ' '
   NEW_WINDOW                   = ' '
   BROWSER_TYPE                 =
   CONTEXTSTRING                =
EXCEPTIONS
   FRONTEND_NOT_SUPPORTED       = 1
   FRONTEND_ERROR               = 2
   PROG_NOT_FOUND               = 3
   NO_BATCH                     = 4
   UNSPECIFIED_ERROR            = 5
   OTHERS                       = 6
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
        WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ENDIF.
for this you have to enable SSO on your server.
hope this helps you, else revert back.

    This depends on the version of your Netweaver Java AS. If you are running 7.0, you will have to use the Jco framework. The Jco framework is deprecated since 7.1 though. If you want to build a RFC server in 7.1 or higher, it is adviced that you set it up through JRA.

  • Call external URL from ABAP userexit, capture data and return it to SAP?

    My apologies if this question has been asked before, but I've searched for a few hours today and haven't found anything directly related to my question.  Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide!
    I would like to be able to make a call from an SAP userexit during Sales Order Entry in the VA01 transaction in the SD module to an external website, allow the user to capture some data in the external site and then pass that data back into the userexit where I can use it to populate internal tables, etc.
    I'm completely unfamiliar with Web Dynpro programming, but this seems like a good place to start my search for a solution.
    Does this sound like a problem that can be solved with Web Dynpro and what documentation or code examples should I reference to go about building such a solution.
    I should also note that I'm hoping to build a solution that could be called from any userexit in R/3, SAP ERP, SAP CRM, etc. and would obviously need to learn about what dependencies to consider (ex: SAP GUI version, SAP product release number, Web AS release, etc.).
    Eric

    Thank you for the response.  Let me provide some additional information.
    The external application will be a Hosted Web page.  It is not an SAP system.
    The external application will be a web page served by a separate system outside of the company domain(shouldn't matter what the technology is I would think - but the web page will be hosted by a different company than the one calling the URL) that would appear as a web page in which the user will enter data, logic will be performed on that data and then some or all of the data would need to be passed back to the calling point in SAP.
    For practical discussions it doesn't matter to me if the call in ABAP occurs in an SD userexit, in a custom report, in an HR screen or in a CRM business partner screen.  There will be many places where this external application may be called from and I'm just trying to figure out how to call an external HTTPS URL and return data from that web page to the calling point in ABAP.
    I hope that clarifies my question.
    Thanks!
    Eric

  • How to call a transaction from ABAP code

    Hi everybody,
    How do I run a transaction from my ABAP code?
    For example, through my ABAP code, I want to call the ME24 transaction (Maintain Purchase Order).
    Thanks for the help,
    Roy

    CALL TRANSACTION
    Syntax
    CALL TRANSACTION ta { [AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN]
                        | [USING bdc_tab [bdc_options]] }.
    Extras:
    1. ... AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN
    2. ... USING bdc_tab [bdc_options]
    Effect
    The statement CALL TRANSACTION calls the transaction whose transaction code is contained in data object ta. The data object ta must be of character type and must contain the transaction code in uppercase letters. If the transaction specified in ta cannot be found, an untreatable exception is triggered. The additions suppress the display of the initial screen and allow you to execute the transaction using a batch input session.
    At CALL TRANSACTION the calling program and its data is kept, and after exiting the called transaction, processing is resumed in the calling program after the call.
    When the transaction is called, the ABAP program linked with the transaction code is loaded in a new internal session. The session of the calling program is kept. The called program runs in an SAP LUW of its own.
    If the called transaction is a dialog transaction, after loading the ABAP program the event LOAD-OF-PROGRAM is triggered and the dynpro defined as initial dynpro of the transaction is called. The initial dynpro is the first dynpro of a dynpro sequence. The transaction is finished when the dynpro sequence is ended by encountering the next dynpro with dynpro number 0 or when the program is exited with the LEAVE PROGRAM statement.
    If the called transaction is an OO transaction (as of release 6.10), when loading all programs except class pools the event LOAD-OF-PROGRAM is triggered and then the method linked with the transaction code is called. If the method is an instance method, implicitly an object of the corresponding class is generated and referenced by the runtime environment. The transaction is finished when the method is finished or when the program is exited using the LEAVE PROGRAM statement.
    After the end of the transaction call, program execution of the calling program resumes after the CALL TRANSACTION statement.
    Note
    At the statement CALL TRANSACTION, the authorization of the current user to execute the called transaction is not checked automatically. If the calling program does not execute a check, the called program must check the authorization. To do this, the called program must call function module AUTHORITY_CHECK_TCODE.
    Addition 1
    ... AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN
    Effect
    This addition suppresses the display of a screen of the initial dynpro of a called dialog transaction. The addition AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN suppresses the first screen under these prerequisites:
    For the initial dynpro, in the Screen Painter the own dynpro number must not be specified as the next screen number.
    All mandatory input fields of the initial dynpro must be filled completely and with the correct values by the SPA/GPA parameters
    If these prerequisites are met, that screen of the dynpro is displayed that is specified in the Screen Painter as the next dynpro of the initial dynpro.
    Example
    If the static next dynpro of the initial dynpro of the called dialog transaction FLIGHT_TA is not the initial dynpro itself, its screen is suppressed, because its input fields are filled using the SPA/GPA parameters CAR and CON.
    DATA: carrid TYPE spfli-carrid,
          connid TYPE spfli-connid.
    SET PARAMETER ID: 'CAR' FIELD carrid,
                      'CON' FIELD connid.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'FLIGHT_TA' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
    Addition 2
    ... USING bdc_tab [bdc_options]
    Effect
    Use this addition to pass an internal table bdc_tab of row type BDCDATA from the ABAP Dictionary to a dialog transaction. The additions bdc_options control the batch input processing. When a transaction with addition USING is called, the system field sy-binpt is set to value "X" in the called program - while this transaction is running, no other transaction can be called with this addition.
    The internal table bdc_tab is the program-internal representation of a batch input session and must be filled accordingly. The structure BDCDATA has the components shown in the table below.
    Component Description
    PROGRAM Name of the program of the called transaction
    DYNPRO Number of the dynpro to be processed
    DYNBEGIN Flag for the beginning of a new dynpro (possible values are "X" and " ")
    FNAM Name of a dynpro field to be filled or batch input control statement, for example, to position the cursor
    FVAL Value to be passed to the dynpro field or to the control statement
    Using the internal table bdc_tab, you can provide any number of screens of the called transaction with input and user actions.
    System Fields
    sy-subrc Description
    0 The batch input processing of the called transaction was successful.
    < 1000 Error in the called transaction. If within the transaction a message was sent, you can receive it using the addition MESSAGES.
    1001 Error in batch input processing.
    Note
    Outside of ABAP Objects you can specify the additions AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN and USING together. However, this does not make sense, because the addition AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN is desigend only to fill the mandatory input fields using SPA/GPA parameters, while the batch input table specified with USING controls the entire transaction flow including the display of the screens.
    Example
    Call of the Class Builder (transaction SE24) and display of class CL_SPFLI_PERSISTENT. The internal table bdcdata_tab contains the input for the batch input processing of the first dynpro (1000) of the transaction. Using structure opt, the batch input processing is set to suppress the first screen and to display the next screen in the standard size.
    DATA class_name(30) TYPE c VALUE 'CL_SPFLI_PERSISTENT'.
    DATA: bdcdata_wa  TYPE bdcdata,
          bdcdata_tab TYPE TABLE OF bdcdata.
    DATA opt TYPE ctu_params.
    CLEAR bdcdata_wa.
    bdcdata_wa-program  = 'SAPLSEOD'.
    bdcdata_wa-dynpro   = '1000'.
    bdcdata_wa-dynbegin = 'X'.
    APPEND bdcdata_wa TO bdcdata_tab.
    CLEAR bdcdata_wa.
    bdcdata_wa-fnam = 'BDC_CURSOR'.
    bdcdata_wa-fval = 'SEOCLASS-CLSNAME'.
    APPEND bdcdata_wa TO bdcdata_tab.
    CLEAR bdcdata_wa.
    bdcdata_wa-fnam = 'SEOCLASS-CLSNAME'.
    bdcdata_wa-fval = class_name.
    APPEND bdcdata_wa TO bdcdata_tab.
    CLEAR bdcdata_wa.
    bdcdata_wa-fnam = 'BDC_OKCODE'.
    bdcdata_wa-fval = '=CIDI'.
    APPEND bdcdata_wa TO bdcdata_tab.
    opt-dismode = 'E'.
    opt-defsize = 'X'.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'SE24' USING bdcdata_tab OPTIONS FROM opt.

  • How to call .aspx URL  from OSB

    Hi
    can any one please suggest how I need to call .aspx from OSB
    eg: http://<host>/ExternalServices/Customer/xyz/Posto.aspx
    Regards,
    Lavanya Sarma

    The service could have been a WSDL based web service or a normal XML/HTTP or SOAP/HTTP service without a WSDL definition.
    If its a WSDL based service you need a WSDL(along with any referenced XML schemas) and if its a XML/HTTP service then you need XML Schemas
    First of all you need to identify which one it is. To do that:
    1. Ask the team who has provided you the endpoint! If its a WSDL based service, ask them for the WSDL file along with referenced schemas. If its a XML/HTTP service ask them for XML schemas.
    2. If you are not able to contact them right away, Try accessing the URL in a browser:
    Open following URLs in a Browser:
    http://<host>/ExternalServices/Customer/xyz/Posto.aspx?wsdl
    http://<host>/ExternalServices/Customer/xyz/Posto.aspx
    Do you see any WSDL coming up in Browser? If yes then copy the content of the WSDL, also open the URLs of any imported schemas in the WSDL content in browser and copy their content as well. The idea is to have all the WSDLs and Schemas on your local machine,
    Once you get the WSDL files and XML schemas here is what you need to do:
    For WSDL based target servce
    1. Save the contents of any referenced schemas as XML Schema resources in OSB
    2. Save the content of WSDL as a WSDL resource in OSB
    3. Create a new business service, select WSDL based service types and select a port or binding from the WSDL resource you created in step 2
    4. Provide transport as HTTP and add http://<host>/ExternalServices/Customer/xyz/Posto.aspx as the endpoint
    5. Save this service and now you can call this business service from any Proxy Service in OSB
    If its a XML/HTTP service, then you can create business service with following types:
    1. XML HTTP with no specific XML schema - Choose ANY XML service type
    2. SOAP/HTTP with no specific XML schema - Choose ANY SOAP service type
    3. XML/HTTP with a specific request and response schema - Choose Message service type and select the request and (optionally) a response message type from an existing XML schema resource

    Yes, SAPHTTPA (runs on application server) and/or SAPHTTP (runs on front-end pc), one of which, is required for HTTP communication.  So far, nothing too elaborate as far as SOAP goes, but the logic is simplistic.  Here's some sample code:
      DEST = 'SAPHTTPA'.
      TRANSLATE HOST TO LOWER CASE.
      MYURL = 'wssrvTest/Service.asmx/GetByOrderItem'.
      CONCATENATE HOST MYURL INTO MYURL.

      APPEND REQUEST_HEADERS.
      CLEAR REQUEST_HEADERS.

  • RRI?  How to call ITS URL and pass field value from Bex Query.

    I am doing RRI from query to webaddress,
    i have defined jump(report type: webaddress and reicver report as url) from shopping cart bex query(SRM ) to webaddres.
    here url is SRM ITS base link for monitoring shoppingcart(http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN).
    jump is working from portal(from bex query ivew).
    but i want to pass value(shopping cart value) to above url and want to skip first screen.
    i have maintained assignment detail by assigning field name against shopping cart infoobject with type url parameter, but its not directly call reciver url with given input field.
    i tried the diffrent combination of url and field assignment as like below:
    1: web address url:http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
    assigned field: GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID
    but when we call reciver url from portal bex ivew, only initial screen come with page url as below:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN?GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'
    2: web address url:http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhc3JtZGV2X0lTRF8wMCUzYUdxdFNqdWdMS2xyTEFEelFTNFlWTnJXRjEzdy05UnhTWXl4TW03c3AtQVRU)/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc/~flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx====#jump_to_selected_sc
    assigned field: flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx
    but when we call reciver url from portal bex ivew, only initial screen come with page url as below:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhc3JtZGV2X0lTRF8wMCUzYUdxdFNqdWdMS2xyTEFEelFTNFlWTnJXRjEzdy05UnhTWXl4TW03c3AtQVRU)/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc/~flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx====#jump_to_selected_sc?flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx='selected number value'
    I have seen the source code of that url(inital screen and after entring the value to that screen) too.
    how to call webadress(SRM ITS base shopping cart URL) with passing the one of field value of that url screen?
    Thanks and regards,
    Dushyant.

  • How to consume WEB SERVICES from ABAP ??

    Q: How to consume WEB SERVICES from ABAP program??
         the point here is i am using SAP release 620 and the creation of proxy is out of scenario
         and also no XI.    Its only through ABAP program i need to consume one web service (its a HTTPS one ),
        Using cl_http_client... i tried it but i am totally confused of whats happening ???
    Req some senior ppl advice on the same/approach.
    any hints will suffice my way of approach...!!!
    Please do put in your valuable advices..!!
    Thanks in advance..!!!!

    Hello Srinivas,
    Following is the code for calling web service:
    data: client type ref to if_http_client,
          host   type string value 'server url',
          service type string value '8080',
          path type string value '/sap/public/ping',
          errortext type string,
          proxy_service type string,
          scheme type i value 1.
    call method cl_http_client=>create
    exporting host  = host
            service  = service
         proxy_host  = host
       proxy_service = service
       scheme        = scheme
    importing client  = client
    exceptions
        argument_not_found = 1
        internal_error     = 2
        plugin_not_active  = 3
        others             = 4.
    case sy-subrc.
      when 0.
         write 'Server reached successfully'.
      when others.
         write: 'sy-subrc =', sy-subrc.
    endcase.
    Once you got the client object you can call following methods:
    "Set the requrie URL for the web service you want to call. This is not WSDL anyway!!
    cl_http_utility=>set_request_uri( request = client->request
    uri =' url 2 be called ').
    *Then you can call send method with proper inputs for sending request to WS
    CALL METHOD client->send
    Then you can use receive method for getting the response
    CALL METHOD client->receive
    *You can get last error in case of exceptions
    CALL METHOD cl_http_client=>get_last_error
    *Close the client object
    CALL METHOD client->close
    For more information on full code refer my link in previous replay.
    Thanks,
    Augustin.
