How to call DBfunction when new record created, to populate values.

In Jdev11g , we are using default create button to add record. We have to populate default values from other tables conditionally.
Can I call db function which returns default values for the newly created record?

If you overwrite the row class method you are doing it globally for all rows of this type, not just on page level.
To do this open the VO in the model project and create let jdev create java slacces for the VO open the RowViewImpl class and overwtire the create method.

    the field PAnnnn-AEDTM, nnnn is the infotype number, will give you the date when the record was last changed.
    Not sure if you can precisely get the date when the infotype was created. I dont feel the need to read cluster form the same.

    That should work. What version of forms are you running?
    I tested it out on Forms 9.0.4 just to make sure and :system.current_field, :system.current_item, :system.cursor_field, and :system.cursor_item all bring back field B when I run the form in debug mode. Is there logic in your when-new-record-instance trigger that is taking you back to field A before you look at the :system variables?
    I would run the form in debug mode if I was you and break on the first thing in the WNRI trigger and just step through it looking at those system variables so you can see what it happening, but it should work unless you have some bugged up version of forms or are doing a go_item in the trigger back to field A.

    I am using eBusiness Forms Personalization in 11.5.10 to alter the Receipts form in Purchasing. I want to prevent users checking the rcv_transaction checkbox if the destination is "Multiple" and, instead, click the "+" sign to explode the multiple record into it's many component records.
    I can do this by invoking the when-new-record-instance trigger to make the "multiple" record fields unalterable and issue a warning message when the user selects such records. However, my problem is that - if the user clicks the checkbox as the first field in a "multiple" record, then this updates the checkbox to "Yes" BEFORE the trigger fires, which then locks the record for update.
    What I need is a solution that either sets the checkbox to unalterable for "multiple" records BEFORE the user clicks into such records, OR a method of undoing the update of the checkbox after the record has been selected (I cannot do this by simply setting it to "No" by the trigger as this is still technically an update and locks the record).

    I am using Oracle forms 6i . I have a multi-data block. I have written commit_form in when-new-record-instance of the data block. When I launch the form on my instance the form does not open.
    But when I comment out this code, the form opens on the instance. What could be the exact problem?
    Also is there any condition that I can specify if the whole data block is null when I open the form?

    In When-New-Record-Instance, check if the block status is NEW. If Not, then just apply COMMIT_FORM;
    try this code in your trigger

    Much easier with a toolkit but you could use ADO objects,
    get connection, make a SQL object "INSERT record INTO table where  ...." 
    Execute the parameterized query
    Free up record sets data
    close connection when done.

    Hai,
    The NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE Trigger will work only when the cursor moves to that record.
    write in the POST-QUERY Trigger of the block.

    Bounced the instance the issue was resolved.
    Again today morning ,same issue started again after the daily bounce which is done bu a script.
    This time I bounced Form server and issue was resolved.
    Can someone help me in finding the root cause of this issue.
    This is issue is happening only on one form (Sales Order ) !!!!!

    This is a Standard form using cusom.pll.
    This was working perfect for last 1 year.
    There where no changes made in the forms or in the environment.
    Only activity carried out was a rebooting of server.
    Surprising it is working fine after boucing!!!!

    I have a form that I migrated to 10g from 6i. I have no problems with it in 6i.
    When I launch this migrated form on the web in 10g, I get the following error:

    GO_ITEM( ) procedure is resctricted procedure.It can not be used in Enter Query mode to navigate to an item in a different block.
    You can check wheter rest of the procedures are Enter Query Mode -Yes/No thourgh forms help window.

  • WebUtil doesn't work when called from WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger

    I need WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO functions to know some information from the client, like IP, JavaVersion, Hostname, OS user, etc. This functions I call through WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE TRIGGER and this doesn't nor work. I obtain the next message and error:
    oracle/forms/webutil/clientinfo/GetClientInfo.class not found. WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO.GET_IP_ADDRESS.
    But when I call this WebUtil functions through WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED trigger or through a button it works. Why?. I need call WebUtils in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger!
    Any help will be of great value.

  • How to create email to Support Team when NEW message created in SupportDesk

    Hi there,
    I have been sitting with this for a while now, and am quite frustrated. I want to know whether it is possible to generate an email notification to the Support Team in the Service Desk whenever a new message is created by the user. So far, the Org Structure is correctly set up in PPOMA_CRM. The rule CRM_DNO_1 (13200137) is configured and works. Application CRM_ORDER with Action Profile SLFN0001_ADVANCED is configured, and by standard config works by correctly determining the responsible Support Team per SAP Component whenever a new message is created. Lastly, I have configured my own Action Definition that sends an email to the user (Reported By) to notify him whenever the Status of the message changes (like to In Process or Confirmed etc), which works.
    Now, whenever a new message is created by a user in the satelite system, it gets created in Service Desk and the Reported By, Sold-to-Party and Support Team are determined and the status of the message is NEW. When looking at the message in Service Desk under Actions, the only action assigned so far is  the "SLFN0001_ADVANCED_FIND_PARTNER - Find support team responsible, when message is created" action. Now, the issue is this: how do you assign an action to the message straight after the Support Team determination, but before any other processing takes place in the message (meaning, you have to click on Change in Service Desk to start processing the message - when doing this, additional actions are assigned). I have created my own Action Definition (copy of SLFN0001_ADVANCED_FIND_PARTNER) and added another Processing Type after the Method Call (CRM_DNO_PARTNER_1) to email a Smartform (Processing Type = Smart Forms Mail) to the Support Team. But from here things just dont work - either it skips the Support Team determination, or it doesn't process the SmartForm type at all. Even by creating a standalone Action Definition and using Partner Determination / Function SLFN0003 (Support Team - almost same like to notify the Reported By about status changes to the message), this newly-defined action doesn't even list under Actions in the message whenever a new message is created. Only after clicking on Change in the message does this action for the first time list and execute, which is pointless - you don't want someone to open the message first and change it to enable notification of the Support Team of a new message; this should happen as soon as the message gets created.
    So, if there is anyone out there who has done this before, please help, it would be much appreciated.

    I managed to get this working in our system.
    This is what I did:
       - action ZSLFN0001_ADVANCED_FIND_PRTNR (copy of SLFN0001_ADVANCED_FIND_PARTNER): changed in processing type the method to ZCRM_DNO_PARTNER_1 which I created as described in note 1041455. The Sort Order of this action has the same number as the original action of SAP (nr. 10 in my case).
       - I created another action Z_MAIL_TO_SUPPORTTEAM_OPEN with Sort Order one higher than the previous (nr. 11 in my case).
    Processing Time: When saving document
    Processing Times not permitted: No Restrictions
    Sort Order: 11
    Schedule Automatically
    Partner-Dependent: SLNF0003
    Determination Technology: Using Conditions that can be Transported
    Rule Type: Workflow Conditions

    I have a form which displays around ten rows with about 5 columns. Whenever i will create a new record, i would like to place an initial value on the first column of every record. How do I do this? If I place the value in the properties of the item, it would be replicated on all the rows. What I want is to put a different value for each row created. But the problem is there is only one item property that i can put a value on (displayed 10 times).     Hi,
    I was wondering if there are any suggestions on updating a picklist field when a new record is saved (as field updates only work for modified records).
    We recently created a custom Probability % field that is tied to both the Sales Stage and another custom picklist field called "Business Type" (has two options - New or Existing). The Probability % field is updated based on a simple workflow that says if Sales Stage = x and Business Type = y, then Probability % = z.
    For example, if the Sales Stage is = to "Validation" and the Business Type is = to "New", the Prob. % will be 5. If the Sales Stage is = to "Validation" and the Business Type is = to "Existing", the Prob. % will be 10... (just so you get the idea).
    Since the workflow is tied to modified records, the new records keep missing the Probability % field.
    Any suggestions on how we can get those newly created records have an updated Prob. % field would be helpful.

    1) I've thought about the post default value, but the problem we encounter is that the user might not create an Opportunity in the very first sales stage- is there a way to place a default in the Prob. % field depending on the sales stage the record is created with?
    2) I thought fields could only be updated when modified records saved - it isn't an option with the "new record is saved". Is there a workaround? I'm still quite new at this, so any help on how I can create a workaround would be great!
