I know that I can call 1-800 numbers in the USA but I need to be on a conference call via 1-800 number on Monday. Once the 1 800 number is answered, a voice asks me to enter the code to join the conference call. how do I do that as there is no keyboard to enter the numbers? Do I just enter the numbers after the original 1 800 number call? Please advise. Thanks,

When in a call you have the call controllers at the bottom of the screen, press the dotted one (show dialpad), and enter the code.

We are RV'S and to find an land line to make 800 numbers is hard. Why are they but aganst your min. specialy when checking on your bills etc. Any land line phone you can use and it's free, why not moble?

Since your wishing to call 800 numbers, these calls use airtime like any other call. However, the 800 number to Verizon Wireless customer service is free. If you call the 800 during off peak time(using unlimited nights and weekends) then those calls to 800 numbers would also be free. Also if you have a single calling plan of 900 minutes you have the option of 5 free Friends and Family numbers; or if you have a family share plan of 1400 minutes, you have the option of 10 free Friends and Family numbers. HT201338 Can I connect a firewire 400 to firewire 800 adapter and then a firewire 800 to Thunderbolt adapter(standard Thunderbolt to firewire adapter) together to digitize video from a miniDV video camcorder?

I have a 10 year Canon MiniDV camcorder that I used to connect via firewire to digitize the data. Now my IMac only has a Thunderbolt connector and my camcorder uses the older firewire 400 standard. I would like to digitize the video into my IMac. How can I do this?

I did a little looking around and found a Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adapter, and then a Firewire 400 to 800 adapter, but no Thunderbolt to Firewire 400. Amazon and Apple stores had the Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 cable and Amazon had the Firewire 400 to 800 adapater.
Wherever you get the cables, ask them if it will work OK with what you want to try and do - if they don't know make sure you can return if there is a problem. I think it will because the Thunderbolt side is so much faster than what the camera can pump out to it. If it were the other way (Thunderbolt device to a Firewire computer I would expect that to fail since the Firewire could never keep up with the data rate of the incoming Thunderbolt device).
Maybe if you have a local Mac user group or a friend with an older mac with a firewire 400 port you could do it this way too?

if i clear the book so that it is all blanks and then try to load in the pictures i have it loses the chronology of the pictures that i had established in the album.
is there a way to import photos into an ibook template and keep the original order of the photos without having to do them one at a time?
also, is there a way to insert a photo rather than just dragging it? i have tried the cut and paste funciton but it doesn't seem to work, the target site doesn't seem to register with iphoto.

Photos are added to book in chronological order. So if you want to add them to a book in the order you have placed them manually in an album do the following:
1 - select all the photos in the album.
2 - use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option as shown here. Select any date and add 1 minute between photos.
3 - select just one photo from the album and create a book from it.
4 - in the book click on the Options button ➙ Book Settings button and make sure the checkbox for Auto-layout pages is unchecked.
5 - drag the album with your book photos onto the book icon and they will be imported into the Photos tray of the book in your pre-determined order but not into the pages themselves.

In your first post you mention you have done a reset and a restore. Those are the last two processes in the user troubleshooting. If those do not work, then the last thing is to go to the Genius Bar. You say you went to Apple and they opened the phone and re-seated the connectors? That sounds unusual, because if there was a hardware issue,they would replace the hardware. You say you cannot get a replacement, is that because you are out of warranty? An out of warranty replacement is only $199 plus tax. It seems to me since you mention the fact you need to press hard to get the screen to react there is something going on with the hardware. If this problem has been going on for over a year, have you been reporting this to Apple. You say you cannot get a replacement and you are on the second phone, I wonder why they are denying you a replacement. Is there something you are not telling us??

How can I add three binary numbers and then convert to string (Hex format)?

I have my problem "half" resolved, but need some assistance on the final piece. Overall, I need to take three string values (hex format), convert them to binary, add them and then convert back to a string (hex format). If that doesn't make sense maybe this will:
Final Result (My target) = 0xCC
= 0x03 + 0x01 + 0x04
          = 0x03; 0011b
          = 0x01; 0001b
         = 0x04; 0100b
For my app, we are dropping "masking" some of the bits so that we get 1 byte:
          = 0x03; 11b
          = 0x01; 001b
          = 0x04; 100b
So...
11001100b = 0xCC
In my VI, I am taking each initial string [0x03,0x01 and 0x04] type casting them to U8. Next I need to "mask" the binary values as shown above and then add them. I am not sure how to do this in LV??

Reporting problems in our area with calling 800 numbers.

We are having call connect issues in our area. I seemed to just notice some calls in my location at work will not go through.
My brother is telling me that he definitely has issues with dialing 800 numbers of which I can attest that some but can't confirm isf all of my recent connect issues have been with 800 numbers.
We are making calls to businesses that have 800 numbers only available and my brother who makes daily a lot of calls to 800 numbers has tried to get their local number when he can so as to bypass the 800 number.
The problem is that we will dial the number hear some clicking after sending it and then nothing the phone call time counter will continue to count and 99% of the time we will have to initiate the disconnect on our end for the system to hang up. I personally have let it stay connected as long as a minute or 2 before disconnecting. Then usually a second call will mediate connect and I will get a ringing and then a call connect. some times it will take upwards of 3-4 tries.
Also when you dial and go to connect and doesn't sometimes the phone will click over and then you will start hearing an echo back of everything you say and the mic picks up.
What is going on here?
My brother who like I said uses a lot of 800 numbers for business has had this problem definitively with the 800 numbers. is this something nationwide or just local to us. We are in the Elkton MD Fairhill area.

Hello Shutech! Your description of this issue is very curious indeed! We have no reports of issues calling toll free numbers reported throughout the network. May I have an example of one of the toll free numbers that have been dialed? I'd like to test with my VZW phone. Thanks!

In Project systems, for the three business objects viz.
Network, ProjectDefinition and WBS, there are two kinds of methods which are available : class methods and instance methods. We have tried calling some instance methods, for instance, BAPI_PROJECTDEF_GETDETAIL to get details pertaining to a project. While importing this BAPI, it shows two elements for mapping i.e. Current Internal Project(string) and Current External Project(string). We supplied these values for an existing project. Upon running this call through an XML client at our end, it
returned an error "Module Unknown Exception". This general message is present on every instance method thus far. Upon searching in BAPI Explorer for Project System->ProjectDefinition->GetDetail, we found that this BAPI didn't take any input parameter.
Following message was displayed in BAPI Exlorer for this BAPI:
"... Obligatory import parameters are the external and internal keys CURRENTEXTERNALPROJE and CURRENTINTERNALPROJE of the project definition.The system reads parameters contained in the structure
BAPI_PROJECT_DEFINITION_EX ..."
i) How to supply the values of Obligatory import parameters.
ii) What are the possible causes of this exception.

what version is the SAP PS running? If WebAs or higher, create an inbound synch interface containing your two parameters in the request structure and as many as you require in your response structure. Generate an Inbound ABAP proxy, where you can plug in some code, i.e. create and instantiate an object of the required type and make the call to the BAPI.
If SAP PS on lower than WebAs, then create a wrapper function module and make it RFC enabled. Then plug your code in here and do the same thing.

Typing letters and suddenly get numbers and then nothing

This is the second time in a week I've had this happen and I can't seem to find a similar thread on these very helpful forums, so maybe someone has some ideas?
I was working on an email and started typing "Form 4562 when it becomes..." and then hit the backspace key to fix a typo and after the "2" when I pressed any letter the keyboard started typing numbers, about 5 or 6 of them, instead of the letters I was typing. Then it wouldn't type anything. I switched to Firefox (Command-Tab) to try to come here and couldn't type anything in the address bar. So because the letter keys are not working I can't quit any applications (can't hit Command-Q but I can hit Command-Tab? Why are the non-letter keys working?) I can work the trackpad and get to Force Quit and so I force quit every open application. Restarted and all is good again. For now. Basically a repeat of what happened a few days ago (although I didn't write down what I was typing and in what app at the time it happened, but basically the same thing.) It's as if the keyboard says, "That k is a 3, that d is a 7", and after a few it realizes it isn't right so just quits typing.
Open apps at the time: Firefox, Mail, iCal, Excel, AddressBook, Skype, Adobe Reader, Preview, iBiz, TextEdit

In case there is dirt or food crumbs trapped under the keys run a vacuum hose over the keys or use a can of compressed air.
If the above does not work AND you do NOT have AppleCare, take the keyboard apart & clean it.

I have requirement like this . i have a standard print prog and custom form. i want add 2 to 3 extra windows in the form and i have to print some data. but how can v do this with out changing the print program. i know that to pick new fields through subroutines. but how can v call new windows and new text elements with out changing the print program.
usually in the print program we write as follows.

can we accomplish this one also through subroutines or any other way is there.
