  • How to use free floating images on a page?

Using DW CS4 and being a noob, I have a stupid question.
    How can I achieve this:
    Here is the webpage: http://ppbm5.com/Poffertjes-4.html

Using good layout practices, it would be a piece of cake.  The page is really a two-column page with the right-hand column split into a form container on the right and a content container on the left.
Check out the two-column sample pages built into DW for a reasonable start at this.  The form container would be floated right, and the images would simply stack vertically in the remaining space to its left.

  • How to make floating image with dim background

    Hi,
If you look at the tutorials in fireworks such as changing images/rolover images you will start to get an understanding.

  • How to add title/caption to each image in Bridge web gallery

    Hi,
I am creating a web gallery within Bridge and I want to add a title and caption to each image in my web gallery. How do I do that? The only thing I see is the Site Info. section and that adds a title and caption to the entire web gallery (including each image) and I want different titles and captions for each image. There must be a simple way to do this I just haven't figured it out yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks Curt Y for your help. The thing is I have to use only Bridge. I looked up this problem on http://www.experts-exchange.com/ and they said it was not possible to add titles and captions for individual images (slides) in a web gallery in Bridge. They seemed to imply that this was overlooked. So I input what I could based on what was provided by Bridge and turned it in. Thanks to all who viewed and replied to this post. I appreciate it.

  • How do you set-up a floating image in a header or footer?

I want to place a floating image in the header or footer so it repeats on every page of a section. Somehow this has been achieved in the Project Proposal Template but I can't work out how you set something like this up from scratch. Can you help me?

It is not in the header.
Highlight the floating image and then go Format > Advanced > Move Ojbects to Section Master.

  • CS4- How do I anchor my image from floating when performing a crop?

I just upgraded to CS4 from CS3. (I've had the disc for a year but delayed due to workshops I was giving)
When I open an image (after ACR) and try a crop by clicking and dragging from top left to bottom right, then let go the image starts floating upward!  I then have to select the Hand tool and pull the image back down.  This is most agravating!
It never did this in CS3, as the image stayed anchored and centered in the screen. I've gone through all the preferences and presets and find nothing about crop tool options or image handling for a crop.
How do I anchor my image, so it doesn't move?
On a related problem, when I open an image from ACR, by default, it goes into a reduced window, which I have to make full screen by pressing the F key. In full screen mode, the image then goes in behind my tool windows.
In CS3, the image rested nicely within the working space between the tool window on the right and the screen on the left.
How do I get the images that I open in CS4 to replicate what I had in CS3?
Any assistance or ideas someone can render would be most appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
"Why are you selecting the whole image to with the Crop Tool anyway?"
Frequently I will quickly click and drag from top left to bottom right. The crop line then sits around the perimeter of the image. Then I will move the curser to the sides-top-bottom of the image and adjust it up or down for the desired crop, such as if I make a pano.  In CS 3 this worked like a charm.
In CS 4, when I do the quick click and drag diagonally across, the window floats up as I continue the drag to the bottom of the page.
CS 3 didn't care if I worked this way, the image didn't move. Pour CS 4 is touchy and doesn't like it! It wants to be treated with RESPECT! Hah! So I've had to change my ways and just slowly stop in the bottom right corner if I don't want the freakin image to drift up.  Wish I had a vid camera to show you what I mean.
Talked to my webmaster 'bout this problem. He could not reporduce this either. Mind you he says he opens his windows in TABS, which I don't do. I'm going to change my preferences and see what happens.
"You could try Window – Application Frame to see if you prefer that one’s behaviour."
Super tip... many thanks!  I'll try it and see what happens. Is this how you are using your canvas?
I'm looking at buying a 2nd cheapo 23inch screen to have all the windows and action panels on, so I leave my Cinema screen open for just the image.
Maybe this way it will reduce the aggravation level. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
    Cheers,
    Frederic in Montréal

  • How do I stop Photoshop Elements 12 from adding a caption to my image?

How do I stop Photoshop Elements 12 Editor from adding a caption to my image?  It is automatically adding the name of my camera (as a caption) to the file any time I make a change in the Editor.  Then I have to manually delete them.

That's not Elements which writes the Camera model in the exif, that's your camera. It's a common complaint with Olympus.
    Solution (edited)
Use the 'Find' menu to select the files starting with the offending caption (Olympus, for instance). Highlight all selected files and right click; select the option to add a caption; leave the caption blank and click enter; you'll be prompted if you want to delete the captions : you do.

  • How do I create a floating image in thelayer panel?

I am watching Deke of Lynda.com in his one on one fundamental with cs5.  He says to double-click on the background layer to create a floating image.  it does not work for me.  No matter what tool I have selected, when I double-click on the layer I simply being up the Layer Style dialogue box.  I have googled this problem and done a search here but cannot find the answer to my problem.  Can anyone help me with this?  Thanks.

You already have a regular layer (floating layer) as others have noted.
A Background layer has a lock symbol and the name Background is italicized, but
regular layers can also be locked, however for regular layers that are locked, you can
just press the Forwardslash (key just to the right of the period key) to unlock those
as opposed to double clicking on a locked Background layer to make it a regular (floating) layer.

  • How do I view multiple images in one window?

How do I view multiple images in one window?  I want to compare images side by side, not in tabs.

  • How do I insert an image in a div box?

OK I've got a seemingly small issue I have to iron out to update our homepage after our graphics person decided to stop showing up to work.  If you need to view the page source it is located here - http://www.rugged-cctv.com/indextestvideo2.shtml
    1. In the image listed below on the red title of the youtube video I have inserted a Rugged Cams logo image that needs to appear like it does in the image. It also shows up correct in the live view of DW  When uploaded the actual page just lists the alt text.  I would also like to center the text in the middle of the image instead of at the bottom of it.   How do I get the image to actually show up? and center the text vertically on the Rugged Cams logo?
Here is the code for the container it is in and that div.
    <div id="youtubecontainer" style="overflow: hidden;">
    <div id="youtube" style="float: left; color:red; width: 475px; padding-left: 0px; font-family:Britannic Bold; font-size: 22px; text-indent: 5px;"> Businesses & Dealers Love the <img src="images/ruggedcams.jpg" width="66" height="34" alt="RuggedCams" /> brand

  • How do I place an image over the header?

I am new to web design and new to Dreamweaver CS4.  I have used 2 column template with header and footer.  I have got a header title (an image) but I want to place an image to the left of it in the top left corner of the web page.  I want the header region to be the height of the title as I want the image to have a greater height than the header area.  When I insert the image it goes into the header region and the header automatically increases its height to fit the image.  How can I overlay the image on the header rather than inserting it in the header?  Any help would be appreciated.

Designing web pages is nothing like designing for print.   To achieve what you want , you'll either need to create a special header image in Photoshop or Fireworks that contains white space and/or slices from surrounding images.  Insert this new image into your header region.
Or, you could simply place image in the background using CSS.  Then align your message text using CSS floats and margins.  See demo below for an example.

  • Most efficient way to insert into a story with many floating images?

I have a document with many floating images. They must all be floating because otherwise I do not get the Caption numbering right and it is impossible (because some images take an entire page) to use only anchored images.
Now, I have to insert a large part into the middle / at the beginning of a section. If I do that the text will flow, but the images remain in place. This is extremely slow working because of all teh movements I have to do on all the images. What I would like to do is to let the pages after the page where I am entering remain the same and when I insert text and images this should just move up one page at a time. Then, at the end, I can do the fine tuning of attaching both parts again. Is there a way to do that in an efficient way?
What I now often do is move all the floating images out of the pages, then insert the new stuff, move the images back, then make sure all the references are fine (e.g. if they refer to an image on another page, the style becomes paragraph number + page numer). For some sections this is a hideous amount of work (many, many images).
Is there a smarter way. I have been thinking about splitting and later rejoining a section. If I add pages to one section, the following sections are not damaged, after all.
What is the best way to do this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • An indented paragraph next to a floating image?

    Hi,
I have a typical book layout page: Text with a floated image to the left, with a blockquote that is indented 30px to the left and right. For some reason when the indented paragraph is next to the floating image, the indent does not show up. It does show up when the text wraps that paragraph below the image.
The reason for this appearance is that though the paragraph is set margin-left: 30px; margin-right: 30px;, because the image has a width of 400px, the margin to the left, for that paragraph, must be 430px. Of course when the text wraps so that the indented paragraph is below the image, the indent is far too wide.
    Here is some code:
    <div style="width: 100%;>
    <img style="float: left; width: 400px;" />
    <p>Some text goes here</p>
    <p style="margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 30px;">Indented paragraph</p>
    </div>
Any idea how to get this blockquote indenting?

    Use text-indent property.

  • Floating images

I'm working with floating images that I want to stay put after I've positioned them.. when I do more edits to the previous page, the images are now all out of position relative to the text. If I make them inline images, I can't get them into the exact position I want to begin with. How do I position images precisely and then get them to stay relative to the text?

Thanks. I want the images to be to the left or right side of the page, with text wrapping around. I can't seem to position inline images that way. When I drag one to the side of the page, it pops back the center.

In full Editor, go to Edit>Preferences>General and check "Allow Floating Documents in Full Edit Mode"
Open the image so that you see it in the project bin
Right click the image thumbnail in the project bin, and duplicate. It will come in as xxxcopy
On the Arrange icon at the top, select 2-up. You should see the original and the duplicate in the work area
