How to capture two audio channels on seperate tracks?

Does anybody know how to get audio from two or more channels on seperate tracks when capturing in Premier pro!
I have used two mics, but the audio is on the same track when i have capturede the video. Any suggestions?

Highlight the clip in the Project window and then Clip - Audio Options - Breakout to Mono.
You will get two mono tracks as separate files in the project window but they won't be linked to the video clip

I do not see a way to separate audio channels to edit them separately in Premiere Elements (any version).
Premiere Elements does have audio effects including Balance, Fill Right/Fill Left, and Swap channels, but that is not what you are seeking.
I would refer you to an audio editor such as the free Audacity for what you want to do.

I am not sure if this is close to what you seek

But, the opportunity seems to be in Premiere Pro, not Premiere Elements
Please review and consider and then let me your thinking on the matter relating to your Premiere Elements 12 (what operating system).

  • Capturing 4 Audio Channels - HDV???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is NOT possible to capture 4 audio channels all at once in FCP?
If this is this case, how do you go back and capture in another pass? Right now I can only capture the two channels that go along with the onboard mic, and not the channels that go with the XLR audio (in this case a Lav Mic.)
I've tried to create a new capture preset, but it doesn't seem to work w/HDV.
Should I try capturing the audio in a second pass using standard def? Would that work?
Any thoughts would greattttttttttttly be appreciated.
    Thanks!

As Thomas suggested in that thread, "Capturing Multiple Audio Channels", in chapter 20 of the the FCP User Manual is a great resource. But I'll break it down for you anyways...
Here's how I capture 4-tracks of audio via Firewire with Final Cut Pro:
    Go to -
Final Cut Pro Menu/Audio/Video Settings.../Capture Presets Tab
Create two capture presets (1 set for the first two channels, the 2nd set for the last two channels and maybe one for all 4 channels mixed if you'd like)
Select a Capture Preset and choose Edit then set which channels you'd like the preset to capture inside the Quicktime Audio Settings section of the Capture Preset Editor window. Make sure your device is plugged in and turned on or else the option will be greyed-out.
Open the Log and Capture window in the Capture Settings tab and select which Capture Preset you'd like to use depending of which audio channels you'd like to capture.
To make sure you're caturing 4-channels on your camera:
    Go To-
    Menu/Audio Setup/Audio Mode/ 12bit 1/2 , 3/4
Throw the phones on and monitor the channels using the Audio Monitor button on the side of the camera. You can switch between monitoring the first 2, the second two, or all four channels at once. Remember if the camera is set to record 4 channels then it'll record 4 channels no matter what channels you're monitoring.

  • Capturing 2 audio channels separately

    Hello,
Sometimes my workflow involves capturing 2 separate audio channels at once. I would like to keep these channels independent rather than importing them as stereo when I log and transfer in FCP7. How do I change this import setting? I use Panasonic AG-HMC80 camera that records in AVCHD format.

When the file is in FCP and you put it in the timeline, if there are double green arrows pointing, this shows you that the audio is being interpreted as stereo.
To change to dual mono, select the clip and hit "Option + L". This will toggle Stereo Pair / Dual Mono.
To toggle the linking of the Audio and the Video, hit "Shift +L"
    Good luck.

  • Capturing 2 audio channels

I have recorded 2 audio channels from my Canon XHA1S (XLR and onboard) and when I capture into PRE, only 1 audio track shows up - I have checked the camera setting several times and everything looks good there - something simple I'm sure - I am using PRE 8.
    Eric

Well I've recorded 2 channels of audio on the tape - is that what 'dub tracks' means?  So does that mean that the audio file PRE brought in is a combination of the 2 tracks?   I've been thinking about Pre Pro for a while - I've been using Elements for about a year - I feel fairly comfortable with it and I know how to do some keyframing - how big is the learning curve from Pre Elements to CS5?

  • Capturing Two Mono Channels and Not Stereo Channels

For the first time, I'm shooting footage with audio on two individual mono channels (on two separate XLR inputs). All are camera settings are correct, however, when I capture in Final Cut Express, it captures the audio as linked stereo (LR) channels, not two mono channels.
Anyone know what could be wrong?
    Big thanks!

There's nothing wrong. When you connect a mic to each of the 2 inputs on your camcorder, your camera records the audio as 1 stereo pair, and FCE captures it that way from your camcorder.
In FCE, you can either pan each channel totally to its Left or Right side; or you can separate the stereo pair into 2 independent audio tracks. You may still want to pan each channel to get the sound you want.

  • How to get two audio voice and how to identify its frequencies

    hello,,
i am new to javax.sound .. here anybody help me in my mini project
1.. i hv to get to audio voice from two different person same time...
2 next i hv to visualize their audio frequency.... so sure that both the audio voice vary in frequency..
3.. i hv to seggregate this two audio voice and store it in different file and hv to play it separately
is here any body to help me
i will be greatly thanxful 4 ur info

    1. How are you getting the voices at the same time? Are these signals
coming from the same line, e.g. microphone? Or are you just reading
    two audio files from disk?
    2. To get the frequency of a audio signal, you'll need to do Fast Fourier
Transform to that signal. You'll propably need a third party library for this,
    search for this with google.
    3. If your signals are coming from the same source, it's going to be very
hard to filter out one of these voices. If you don't know anything about the
voices in forehand, I don't think this will be possible.
Give some more information about what you're trying to achieve.

Somehow the audiobook that i have had for a while got split into two different audiobooks
Is there someway to merge them back together?

The following solution will merge two audio streams of different formats and mix two audio streams of the same format... translation, make sure they're the same format before you merge them.

  • How to Capture Streaming Audio

I'm looking for a technique or app for capturing streaming audio from my 3GS. Any ideas?

Check the app store as I know there are apps that will stream and capture audio.  Basically, the app that is doing the streaming has to do the capturing as well.  Otherwise, any recording app running in the foreground mutes the audio from any backgrounded app.

  • Premiere CS4 - how to duplicate left audio channel to right

I am editing old footage in which the audio signal is on the left channel only - the right channel is empty. I want to duplicate the left channel on the right so the sound comes out of both speakers. In Premiere 2.0 this was easy: right-click on a clip, choose audio options, then 'Duplicate left', and that was it. I can't figure out how to do the same thing in CS4.

  • How to link two recording channels for stereo?

I have a zoom 6 interface which naturally records vocals in stereo with audition with its built in stereo
Mic. However, I have an external stereo mic which connects to two different inputs on my interface.
I want to link these two inputs in audition to record in stereo without recording two separate busses.
    How can I do this?
    Thanks!

You need to select a stereo input option in the channel sources choice on the track control panel (LHS). If it's possible to pair the two inputs, then this is where you do it.
Alternatively, just don't bother! Simply record two mono tracks and mix them down to a stereo track afterwards. Mind you, if you are recording vocals like this, then there really isn't a lot of point, as your voice is mono anyway, and you only really need a single output from the mic - one side or the other would do. If you are recording ambient sound, then okay, stereo - but you really don't need that for a single voice.

  • How to use two audio souces in one multicam clip

I have a three cameras, and an additional audio source.  Making the multicam clip with of the four elements was easy, however I would like to use both the audio from two different sources at the same time.  Is this possible?  I know about switching the audio from one source to the other, but in some cases, I have talent on stage left and on stage right, and I need the audio pick up from both regardless of the video angle.

You can do it this way.
In the multicam select audio to left clip.
Then find the right clip, detach its audio, take its audio & align it to the multicam clips.
This way you have audio from let & right

    THis is just an example..
RMAN can allocate channels to instances it is connected to. For a RAC database, you can connect to the grid TNS alias, which points to all instances. You can then set up parallelism for the device type, and the load will be spread across the RAC instances.
You need to make sure that the password file exists for each instance, and that the user you're connecting as from RMAN has sysdba privileges.
    Example:
    tnsnames.ora entry:
    RACDATABASE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
    (FAILOVER = on)
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = racnode1)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = racnode2)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = racnode3)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL)
    RMAN connect:
    rman target username/password@RACDATABASE
(username/password is for a user with SYSDBA privileges).
    RMAN channel configuration:
    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK BACKUP TYPE TO COMPRESSED BACKUPSET PARALLELISM 4;
This sets up the channels to be spread across the instances based on instance load.

  • How to merging two audio stream using jmf?

I have received two rtp audio stream,i want to merging this to one but createMergingDataSource dou work well。please help 。

You might use an alternative approach: Run exec task and use a external tool to do the encoding.
You can for example use "The Swiss army knive of Sound" :) SoX: http://sox.sourceforge.net/
I think from a performance point of view or to handle large files it would be even recommended in using such tools rather then encoding inside your application ... that might be different if you need to do the encoding in real-time ...

I understood that in the Volume correction I need to select - Equalize Volume Levels.
    Is that it?
You can watch the movies without the sound boost in here
Also, How can I save the audio File into the quicktime without rendering the video again.
I don't want the video to be encoded again because the quality is really bad for some reason.
Even If I choose Animation codec which suppose to be good.
Isn't there a way of saving the new audio in the movie without encoding it all again?
    Thanks
