  • How to skip first record while inserting data from a flat file to BW system

    Hi Experts,
    In my project we have to upload flat file into a BW system. I have written a program and it is working fine.
    Now we have got another requirement. The flat file will have a header record (first row). While uploading the flat file we have to skip this record. How I can do so?

  • HOW TO DOWNLOAD ERROR RECORDS IN LSMW

    hi abap gurus ,
    i have 2 queries .
    1) first of all how  to identify error records while running in background while using predefined progrmmes .
    2) if there are any error records how to download those error records , can any one give the logic to download the error records while handling LSMW with predefined programmes or
    bapis .
    regards ,
    dinesh .

    1) first of all how to identify error records while running in background while using predefined progrmmes .
    If there is a session for that u can moniter the session in SM35 for the error records.....
    2) if there are any error records how to download those error records , can any one give the logic to download the error records while handling LSMW with predefined programmes or
    bapis .
    Hi,
    In the field mappings and conversion rules,
    in the global section,define an internal table.
    data : begin of it_errors occurs 0,
    desc type string,
    end of it_errors.
    and where ever you have wrong or empty values for the fields,populate error there to the internal table.
    for example, if Material no is blank,i have to give err msg
    IF NOT MATMAS_MRPVIEW-MATNR IS INITIAL.
    BMM00-MATNR = MATMAS_MRPVIEW-MATNR.
    else.
    IT_ERROR-DESC = 'Material no is empty'.
    append it_error.
    SKIP_RECORD. "to skip further processing of this error record.
    ENDIF.
    like this you populate all the error records to that IT_ERRORS internal table.
    and finally download it using GUI_DOWNLOAD in the event
    '__END_OF_PROCESSING__'
    there is another way also, you can create a Session in the LSMW, and record the error records in the session then process the error records in the session
    Hope you got it

  • Getting error msg while inserting a record

    HI
    Am getting error msg while am inserting a new record. Am unable to view the data that i inserted in to database. If any one can help in sorting of the problem plz help. I used the following code in Application Module(AM) and Controller(CO)
    processRequest()
    -- am.invokeMethod("insertmethod");
    processFormRequest()
    -- if(pageContext.getParameter("Create")!=null)
    -- am.invokeMethod("savemethod");
    In AM Code
    public void insertmethod()
    EOVOImpl vo=getEOVO1();
    if(!vo.isPreparedForExecution())
    {    vo.executeQuery(); }
    Row ro=vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(ro);
    ro.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    public void savemethod()
    {   OADBTransaction oa=getOADBTransaction();
    oa.commit(); }
    Error
    Attribute SummaryFlag in kiInsertAM.kiInsertEOVO1 is required

    Hi,
    Either on the form you don't have SummaryFlag field or you forgot to map VO attribute i.e. SummaryFlag to that field.
    If you don't have SummaryFlag field on form then you need to set it programatically before committing record.

  • How to upload error records in call transaction method

    Hi all,
    While uploading data by using call transaction. If any errors occured, how can we process that  error records to database.
    If all records are processed. How can we display the recent records which where uploaded.
    AdvanceThanks for all.

    Hi Bharath
    You can handle this in many ways. But the easiest option to do is as below,
    once the call transaction ends in error, move that particular upload data to a separate internal table. Then finally download all these data to an error file.
    Besides this after processing all the records diplay the log for error. So that users can modify the error in the file and can use the same for uploading again. For the data that has been processed successfully you can display the log similarly.
    The error as well as sucess messages can be obtained from the messages table.
        CALL TRANSACTION TCODE USING BDCDATA
                         MODE   CTUMODE
                         UPDATE CUPDATE
                         MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.

  • Commit each record while insert

    Hi All,
    I am using ESB for my project.
    I have a requirement that I select multiple records from a database using a select operation, which need to be inserted into a local DB.
    Need is to commit each record as it writes into the local DB.
    becoz, assuming that I may select around 500 records from the souce, and while inserting,the 375th record fails, I would not want to roll back the other 374 records that are inserted, and also miss on the other remaining 125!
    Please advice how this can be done. Thanks in anticipation. Urgent need!
    Regards,
    Sambhav.

    The DBAdapter does this in single commit, so that a rollback can take place in case of failure.
    You will need to use compensate activity if at all you want to commit mid way.
    Is there any particular reason that you are looking to commit them in shorter batches?

  • How to skip first records while reading a csv file

    Hi,
    How to skip the first 5 records while reading csv file.
    I have a file which contains first 5 records as dummy records, I want to skip those records and load the rest into RDBMS.
    How to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Naveen Suram

    Hi Guru,
    Actually I have converted an excel to CSV format, which is generating first 4 rows as some dummy records. 5th row is my header record. But in hearder record, two column names are same. Thats why while reversing it is giving an error.
    With zero in number of columns in header, I am getting the column names as C1, C2...
    If not in reversing, can we reject the first records while loading into RDMBS table using an interface?
    Thanks,
    Naveen Suram

    hi...
    finally i got the solution...i know that this problem may occur due to some other reasons also for different users...but the problem which caused the developers facing the error in this case is below:
    they faced the error while importing the dumps in the server. at the same time the application developers told that they can select the tables but cannot insert any datas.
    after listenning to this, i assumed that this may be a space problem with the system tablespace as it is responsible for storing the data dictionary.
    i asked for the free spaces for the system tablespace and got the reason. It has only 0.2% left.
    i told them to issue the resize command for the system01.dbf datafile(allocated 2GB more) and the problem got resolved.
    Hope this helps..thanks

  • How to write error log while creating invoice and avoid implicite commit

    Hi,
    I've have written code in exit RV60AFZZ in which I check for some possible errors while invoicing via VF01/VF04. If conditions are met then we create error message and display it to the user. As result we had a lot of missing SD invoices in FI when we did batch/mass invoicing. I've opened OSS note and SAP support team wrote that using statement MESSAGE is forbidden in UE. It can lead to implicite commits.
    Do you have some example how to write error log for invoincing in VF01/VF04 transactions?
    Thanks

    @ sri nath. Please read post before answering. I wouldn't be posting trivial questions. As I wrote before it doesn't work.  Also SAP support would not answer to the question in my OSS.
    In VOFM, SAP is using routine  VBFS_HINZUFUEGEN_ALLG to write to error log.
    Mine is something like this in ue:
          PERFORM ZVBFS_HINZUFUEGEN_ALLG
                     USING VBAP-VBELN VBAP-POSNR  'ZSD' 'E '600'
                           SPACE SPACE SPACE SPACE.
    (we have custom message class)
    As result  XVBFS and VBSK are filled with error, but posting is also done.  Error log is filled but invoice is created and posted in FI.
    That is not OK.
    thanks

  • How to send error record to session in call transaction method

    Hi experts,
    I want to send only the error record to session while executing the program in call transaction method. please give me example on this
    regards,
    siva kumar

    One logiv that I can suggest is that after you have got the details of the record in error, you write another perform build_Session and put the below logic in that.
    Logic:
    1. Build a internal table for the error records similar to the internal table you used for looping for the call transaction. In short this internal table will have only the records that have an error in call transaction.
    2. Copy the recordign that you have done before and put it in the perform inside the loop and build the BDC table.
    3. Then .using this BDC table you can build the BDC session.
