How to catch SSO userid and store it in deployment database?
Hi,
Environment: OID,Portal,forms,reports 9.0.2.3
How do I do if I have a SSO user, lets say DAVE, and he has a resource pointing to a Deployment database un/pw@ORAC? When he has made his SSO login and choose a form I want store his real userid in the database ORAC. For example in v$session and in a history table. I want to be able to trace a blocking session back to the real user.

How can i force the where clause of the query to have

every portal user has an account on the oid and is mapped and synchronized in the users table

I want for every authenticated user when the user access the order form from the portal page
1- the user data user_name , nationality is to be fetched (selected)
from the users table where userid = the userid of the user by which
he is authenticated against the OID
2 - the user_name is to be assigned to the form field form_user_name
and the nationality is to be assigned to form_nationality
3 - once the user sumbit the request the request_no is to be generated as
max (order_no) + 1 and is assigned to the field order_no
How can i implement 1 , 2 , 3?

How to get SSO userid to URL-based app?
I'm developing a web-app using Struts that will be accessed by Portal (I guess as a URL-based app). The web-app will not require login. The web-app will not be Portal "aware", except that it requires the SSO userid for auditing/logging purposes.
I know little about Portal and SSO. How can Portal be configured to send the Portal userid of the logged-in Portal user? Can it send it as a parameter in a GET or POST?

How do I create variables and store them?
As someone already said, we need to know a little more about what you want to do with these variables, but in general, APEX Items are probably what you want. You can create APEX Items at the Application or Page level. Once you set the value of an item, you can reference it anywhere else in the application. So, if you have an item on page 1 called P1_ENAME, you can reference it on page 32 using bind variable syntax :P1_ENAME. If you just want to store but not display some information, you can use either a hidden page item or an Application Level item. Take a look at the 2 Day Developers Guide for more info.

Reading the contents of a folder and store them in the database using 6i
Hi all,
I'm using developer 6i and oracle 8i,now am building personnel database,every employee has many certificates (graduate certificates,post-graduate certificates and work experience certificates),I want to scan all these certificates,put them in a folder ,give the form (employee form ) the path to the folder and the form read the contents of the folder (3 or 4 image files for example) dynamically and store them in the database.
All examples I came across explain how to load a defined image file name into oracle database,but what if the image file name is not defined (i,e dynamically generated by the scanner).
Hope I explained the case.

I read the example and thought it could be modified to retreive a directory listing. There is a way to do what you want, but you will have to check to see if you have the D2kwutil.pll installed with Forms 6i. If you do not have it installed you can download the pll from OTN. This Forms Library will only work on Windows, so if you want this functionality on a non-windows machine, it will not work. Read the D2KWUTIL.html for details on how to use this library. There are also some good posts here in the forums on how to use this library. Just search on D2KWUTIL.PLL.

(Urgent help needed) how to read txt file and store the data into 2D-array?
Hi, I have a GUI which allow to choose file from the file chooser, and when "Read file" button is pressed, I want to show the array data into the textarea.
The sample data is like this followed:

How to use the userid and password infor from Oracle DB in BO
Out client has the userid and passwords(encrypted) infomration stored in oracle table.
Is it possible to import this useid and password information into BO .And use the same userid and password from Oracle table for its login authentication and for data security...?
In other words can the userid/pwd info from Oracle Profile Table imported and re-used in BO Enterprise Edition.If the users/pw are in an Oracle LDAP v3 compliant server then you can import them via LDAP plugin, else you would need to bring them in an enterprise users via script. The Import wizard can do this and the SDK (see the SDK forums for more info on how)
Maintaining the passwords would be difficult unless you are using and industry standard directory like LDAP.

How do pass the UserID and Password in the SOAP header for web services
I am encountering issues trying to pass the userid and password in the SOAP header when consuming a 3rd party web service. Rostewitz posted something similiar but I don't know how to type iv_xml. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jpinaIt helps to post a link to a thread when you refer to it. If you are trying to implement that solution though, you can look at the parameter of the corresponding method being called. The parameter has type 'SIMPLE' which means that it is compatible with all of the predefined elementary ABAP types. In this case, you should use 'STRING'.

I'm having some trouble trying to create a code where I have to to create a file and store its contents into another file?
I read the API, but I'm not certain how this file thing works.

Keep one dummy date field in the structure. Make this dummy date field as delta enabled field. When you do Init load this date field value will be blank and next time when you do load it will have the last upload (in this case init load) date. You have to write a code before open cursor as below:
LOOP AT s_s_if-t_select INTO l_s_select.
WHERE fieldnm = '(dummy date field name)'.
l_date = l_s_select-low.
ENDLOOP.
l_date will have the last upload date. This you can use to select the delta records from the table or for the further processing.
If you want to check the value during Init or delta load, go to RSA3 and debug it(Don't use F - Full load. Use I or D in the update field).

When starting webcenter domain, how not to enter userid and password?

I followed this link http://yonaweb.be/start_webcenter_domain in installing my webcenter domain and I was successful in setting my own webcenter and busy exploring the webcenter spaces.
My only concern is that when I am starting my webcenter domain it always ask for user id and password for the weblogic.
I created a small batchfile for this.
call C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\webcenter_domain\bin\startManagedWebLogic.cmd WC_Spaces http://localhost:7001but how can I get away from typing the user id and password?

It is not possible by using SOAP adapter. But you can use http adapter with user and password instead of SOAP adapter.
