For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

Adobe Reader for iOS doesn't set the default email address when you email a PDF.
It's found in the Settings app:

There is a workaround to move from 1.5 version to the older 1.4 version. But this could be specific to the browser setting the JRE version.

I have already tried this. Several times. This procedure will change the default for any of the fields that I place by hand. It does not change the default for any of the fields placed by the Wizard. I was unable to find a solution to the problem in any of the manuals, books, or on-line forums, which is why I posted here as a last resort. This leads to two conclusions:
A. Your advice is incorrect
B. There is a problem with my installation of Acrobat
I will assume that A is not the correct conclusion. I will therefore try a re-install of my software to see if this clears up the problem. There have been other issues with other Adobe software on my machine that a re-installed has fixed nicely. Luckily, I don't have to do this at all often.

Currently, when I import an .ai file into FrameMaker 8, I have to change the Anchored Frame default setting from "Below Current Line" to "At Insertion Point".
Is there a way to make "At Insertion Point" the default option in FrameMaker 8 (.e.g *.ini file)?

Okay, I took the plunge (followed the instructions) and put the ShrinkWrapAsIs.dll in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker8\fminit\Plugins
But, it did not work on my version of FrameMaker 8 (in Structured FM8).

This seems obvious but I can't find it - how do I universally change the default settings for specific types of files to specific applications? I was able to do it for Dreamweaver with the Always Open With checkbox but the pdf change to Acrobat only worked on the individual file, same with the jpg change to Photoshop etc. Any help would be appreciated!

Pick a file of the type you want to change. Right click and pick get info. Now open the part that says Open with:. Now pick what you want to use to open that file type with. Then click change all. That should make that program the default for that type file.
