How to change filename in iPhoto?

Hi,
I can't seem to find out how i can "rename" the photos in iPhoto - so it also changes in "Finder"?
("Rename them for eks. "IMG001.jpg" to "Sunrise.jpg")
I've tried to rename them in "Finder", but then iPhoto can't recognize them anymore.
Is this a fact? Or is there a way to do this?
Help? :o)

When I click on a photo in Iphoto and I look to the bottom left of my screen where it shows the "information" box, the first line states Title, that is where it shows my new name I gave the pic. What I do is select all photos in an event, click batch change, and then click title and then type my new name (ex. 2009-01-09).
That’s how you do it. No problems there.
My canon (an apple product) came with its own program for downloading pics (imagebrowser).
Canon are a large multinational all of their own. Apple don’t own them.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Q? how to change filename of receiver adapter includeing payload attribute?

    hi all.
our scenario is IDOC - XI - FILE.

How to change the filename using payload attribute?
Message was edited by: ChangSeop Song

    Hi,
You can create the file name dynamically from the payload of the receiver adapter as follows.
From the requirement you have stated, you want your file to be named as,
    TPSDLS<shipmentid>.
For this, in the reciver file adapter, give your filename as <b>TPSDLS%var%</b> and under variable name substitution,
    <b>var</b> --> <b>payload:IDOCTYPE,1,Shipments,1,ShipmentID,1</b>
here, var acts as your variable name and it first looks for IDOCTYPE and its first occurence, shipment and its first occurence and finally, shipmentID and its first occurence. There by generating the filename dynamically.
For more info on this, check the topic <b>variable substitution</b> under this link.

  • How to change email for Iphoto?

  • How to batch change filenames in iPhoto 09?

I have a dilema... The photos I've taken with my Leica have a certain filename convention (e.g. L0001, L0002, etc.) and the photos I've taken with my Canon have a different filename convention (e.g. IMG_0001, IMG_0002, etc.).
When I import these photos into iPhoto they are arranged my date and time, which is what I want. When I upload these photos (all one giant Event) to my MobileMe gallery they are uploaded and arranged chronologically but by filename, meaning all the Leica photos are first in their order, then all of the Canon photos in their order. The MobileMe gallery does not match my Event.
    How can I fix this?

you can not change file names in iPhoto - it is critical that you NEVER make any changes of any sort to the content or structure of the iPhoto library
YOu can export the files using the option to sequentially name them
You can change the file names prior to importing to iPhoto (use image capture to download your files and use a program like name mangler to batch rename them)

  • File adapter: how to change filename

    Hi all,
In my scenario I need to add specific time stamp (current date actually) to filename when it's copied to target system. In the properties of file adapter there is an option to add time stamp, but I need it to be in format YYMMDD.hhmm, while XI default suggests another one. How can I solve the problem? Use variable substitution or m.b. dynamic configuration? In addition want to say that there is no any mapping in the scenario.
    Thank you.

  • How to change the Apple ID for iPhotos and iMovies(The first ID used in the mac book)?

I found that every time when I want to update the iphotos and imovies and the native apps in the mac book it is needed to use the first apple id that used for the first time you turn on the mac book.
Since that id is not used now and i want to change it, any body knows how to change it?
And although my current admin id has changed, but still when updating iphotos the very first id is needed...

Correct.  Apps are Tied to the Apple ID that Purchased them...
    From Here   http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Changing the actual filename in iPhoto library?

I am now finally starting to sift through the largest of my iPhoto libraries - tagging them by company and town, etc.
When I was in the initial tagging phase (using a smart album showing me all those that had no tags), I noticed one picture with Greenbush in the filename seemed out of place in the date order and a check against the map showed that it should have been named Neche instead. I changed the title accordingly, added the proper tags, and went on to the next picture.
Now, with all the pictures tagged, I am going back through them all, using a smart album to show the tags one by one, so I can weed out duplicates, flag ones needing retakes, deleting those "why?" pictures, etc.
I typed in Green expecting to pull up Green Valley (and Greenbush in the process) and iPhoto pulled up the picture I expected to see AND the picture whose title I changed - there was nothing that I could see that would cause it to come up under Greenbush instead of Neche, but it still was. I had to export the picture to see that changing the title does NOT change the filename. ¿håå?
Is there a way to safely change the actual filename within iPhoto without having to export, change the filename, and reimport? (which is what I did to fix the picture)

That is correct - it is the way it works

No - the file names are immaterial while your photos are in the iPhoto database - you have no need to look at the files and should not be - only when you take them out (export does it matter or can you change them)

I too added 2nd apple ID when I tried to get Free app from apple store just to get to NONE on the credit card needed. It said it sent confirmation email to my new apple ID email that I have to confirm. Problem is I can not get to the new apple ID email account.  On my ipad it logs into my original email account and I see no where to log into another email account.  If I go to my laptop, the new apple ID I created does not let me log into email where apple said it was sent to.  It did not send to back up email account either.
Can I log into 2 email accounts on my ipad where it says mail at bottom?
Can I have 2 apple ids?
If I created a 2nd apple id to get to NONE on credit card needed, can't I log into it also on another laptop in gmail?
    (won't let me)
If I used my original apple id I created when I got my new ipad, it will not let me get free app without credit card, there is no where it says NONE needed. I am too new to apple to start with credit cards etc until I get use to it.

  • Imported photo location changed -- How to change in iPhoto?

I originally imported photos from the Server: "smb://the-server/..." and it has been changed to "smb://media-server/...". How do I change this in iPhoto so that it knows where to source the photo?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Matt
You're running a Referenced Library, right? Where the files are stored on this volume and the Library is on your Mac?
If so: then when you imported the files iPhoto created an alias to them within the iPhoto Package that points to the actual location of the files.
These aliases will survive the path changing on the same volume. They won't if they point to a different volume.
    So
    1. Change the path to the files back to exactly what it was
    or
    2. Use an app like [FileBuddy|http://www.skytag.com> to resolve the aliases for you. Note that this has worked for some folks and not for others.
    or
    3. Start resolving each alias for each photo one by one.
This is the main reason why I do not recommend using IPhoto in Referenced Mode.
