How to change 'half-moon' Layer Thumbnail to a graph

I've noticed that in some of my images, the Layers Thumbnail -- the black & white circle between the Layer Visibility and the Layer Mask -- is not a circle but a graph. How do I change from one to the other?
I can understand the graph, but what is the circle supposed to represent?

I had already checked out the section in PS Help that you provided the link for, but I couldn't work out why, when the setting for Layer Thumbnails were all set to small, that some of the images had graphs and other had the circles. You confirmed the solution and now I know where the problem was:
* the images that had the graph were vertical format and there was enough vertical space to fit in the graph;
* the images that had the circle were horizontal format. The vertical dimension must have been just under the size limit for the graph.
A bit confusing. I assumed the thumbnails would be scaled so that on a certain thumbnail size setting, the vertical dimension of the thumbnails was the same so that the spacing of the various layers remained constant. Not so. The longest dimension appears to remain constant.

How to change the standard category thumbnails?

This month I upgraded to PE6. I don't like the dark gray background and miss some of the features I got used to, but I can live with that. On the other hand, I extremely disliked the standard category thumbnails for places, people, events and other. Why on earth did Adobe change the appealing thumbnails for those categories in PE4? The present ones are dull and because I can't make anything of the fine details in the new thumbnails I keep forgetting what they stand for.
So far I have made several attempts to revert to the old thumbnails. I replaced the *.png picture files in the shared_assets\bitmaps\tag_palette with the old picture files (which are, by the way, present in the same directory, as "legacy" files). Didn't make any difference.
The second attempt was to add the old picture files to the shared_assets\caticons directory. They then appeared in PE6 as possible alternate choices for the thumbnails. I changed all four categories. Took some time, but it worked. However, next time I started PE6, everything was back to the original situation. Heavy sigh... Where does PE6 hide the new stupid thumbnails??

There's something about those legacy icons that's built-in to PSE 6. Here's a recipe that worked for me:
- Copy shared_assets\bitmaps\LegacyCatIcon_People.png to shared_assets\caticons\MyPeople.png.
- Invoke the full editor on MyPeople.png and change one pixel to a slightly different color.
- Save MyPeople.png.
- Edit the People category and select the icon for MyPeople.png.
- Restart PSE 6 Organizer.

How to change the auto generated thumbnail images for a clip?

When iMovie created all the thumbnails for my clips it got most of them right, but on some of them it has choosen a frame that doens't really represent that clip.
Is there any way to change the poster frame for each clip?

Afte uploaded record it create internal number (Personal ID), and it get stored in table MESSTAB. And that internal number is stored in field MESSTAB-MSGV1. Use this MESSTAB-MSGV1 field for the further use.

change the Color Scheme on Chart Attributes page to Custom then put a comma seperated list of colors in the Custom Colors text area of Chart Attributes of your chart. For example, if you have 2 line series in the chart then you could put db15db,DD0000 in Custom Colors text area
DD0000 is actually a color in hexadeccimal number format
FFFFFF stands for white and 000000 stands for black. You also get to pick colors from a color picker in Chart Attributes page

How to change the size of a mixed signal graph programmaticaly and properly ?

I'm posting because I can't find a way to do the following thing :
I want to resize a MixedSignal Graph programmatically using property node which are in read/write mode.
For XY graph it works nicely using PlotAreaSize (? not sure of translation) (Zone de tracé : taille : hauteur;Zone de tracé : taille : largeur in french).
For subpanel it works nicely using ContainerBounds (? not sure of translation) (Limites du conteneur : hauteur Limites du conteneur : largeur in french)
For Mixed signal graph I use PlotAreaSize. It changes perfectly the width according to the change in size but not the height. Apparently the height of the plotArea is changing but not the height of the teminal....
You have to pan in order to see the whole graph...
That is not what i'm expecting, does anybody know a way to change effectively the height of a mixed signal graph ?
(Please avoid the answer like : "choose an other thing for plotting" thanks )

How to change legend name in Web-I line graph

There is no functionality of editing the legend text of a graph in a Webintelligence report
Enhancement Request ADAPT00787806 has been created.
If you are more concerned about the Legend title and not the Measure name then you can store the measure values in Measure Variable and give the variable name you want your legend title should be.
Only take dimensions and newly created variable on the report where variable will act as measure.

How to change Layer Mode in Flash CS3?

Hello,
I would like to know how to change the layer mode to
"multiply" with flash.
I usually use photoshop CS2 to color my lineart. I set the
top layer (the lines) to "multiply" to make the white transparent,
and then apply color on layers underneath.
I want to learn how to color my art on Flash, but I'm still a
noob. I imported my bitmap lineart (inked by hand) and turned it
into vectors (modify>bitmap>trace bitmap). Then I created a
second layer underneath for the color, just like I would do in
photoshop.
But, the first layer's white areas are not transparent, so
the color is not visible.
So basically I just need to know how to change the top
layer's mode to "multiply" so I can see through the white areas .
Any help will be very appreciated.

Convert the top layer's artwork (raster or vector, doesn't
matter) into
a movie clip symbol -- select the artwork and go to Modify
> Convert to
Symbol -- and you'll be set. Once the symbol exists, you'll
see mode
choices in the Property inspector.

When I open a new tab, it opens the babylon search (which is annoying). How to change it to the thumbnail view showing most visited pages?

When I try it myself my whole gradient turns black.

To add to the above, you can not just set the angle. If you want to use other existing settings you need to get them from the layer. The code in that other thread shows one way to get them.
But if you do not need the existing values for any other reason you can get the descriptor for the layer, make a duplicate of it with all the settings and just overwrite the ones you want to change.
This is one way to just change the angle while keeping the other existing settings.

How to get panel to display thumbnails sized to layer bounds instead of relative toentire document??

There is an option for this, but it only partially works...and was wondering if there is something else I'm supposed to know about to make the feature work as described...?
I can turn on the option to display thumbnails .. bit in only works for bitmapped stuff. None of my vector masks are shown at the size of their layer. (Note -- I have layer shaped by transparency set to off -- meaning the layer is shaped by the vector mask and not any content. This is confirmable by turning on the option to show layer bounds).
Yet, when I do this, it's obvious on the larger screen (if layer bounds are showing), that the vector takes up the full layer. But in the thumbnail, I often can't even the shape at all -- not very helpful.
So what am I missing? How do I get the vector thumbnails to display the size of their layer?

That's definitely NOT the case in Photoshop...
If you use the 'move tool', and you have "show transform controls turned on', it will show you the
corners of the layer -- the actual size of the layer...
You can verify this by going in and and creating a paint layer, say 1000x1000.
Now create a shape some small fraction of that... Any closed vector and attach it to the
layer, with Layer->Mask->Vector.
now check out the size in 'move tool' -- it will be 1000x1000.
Now go into image blending options and uncheck 'transparency shapes layer'.
Now, the layer is shaped by the vector -- not the transparent edges where your canvas ended.
Now, if you use move tool, you will find the 'corner' of the layer positioned around the vector, not
around the 1000x1000 layer you just created.
To round out the demo, save a copy of your mask if you want, and go into the mask panel
and select 'vector'. At the bottom, of the panel there is a tiny graphic of an arrow pointing down
onto a 'plane', (or layer). indicating to apply the vector mask to the layer. Do so.
Now go into blending options and recheck the 'transparency shapes layer.'
Try move again... Now note the bounding box is the SAME size as it was with the vector
attached... because you truncated the rest of the layer with the mask. You now have a smaller
object... that is that size... (I know... all this is very basic to a community professional), BUT
my point now, is that if the outline box that small bitmaped shape w/o the vector mask is only
say 100x100 (vs. before it was 1000x1000... and if it's the same size as BEFORE you
applied the mask WITH the vector there (but shaped/w/transparency off). Then I would assert
that the since the outline box is showing the size of the layer -- the size of the layers are the same.
Therefore, the vector takes up the full size of a layer that is shaped by that vector mask.

The '''new Tab page''' isn't intended to be a text listing of recent browsing history, but rather a visualization of "top sites" that you visit based upon the number of visits over time. I would simply like to insert two half-circles or half moons in a Pages doc. The current "shapes" does not include half-circles or half-moons. Ideally, I'd like to be able to apply my colour, lines, etc., etc to these half circles and size them. I am not a graphic artist.

1. Go down to the bottom left corner of the window and increase the zoom to 400%
2. Toolbar > Shapes > Circle
3. Menu > Format > Make Editable > click on the bottom red dot > delete
4. Click on the left side dot, there are two handles which pull out the curves.
5. Drag down a guide from the ruler to the tip of the top of the handle.
6. Click on the bottom handle tip and shift drag it up until it is tucked back into the red dot.
7. Do the same to other corner.
Now keep a copy of this in a document and copy paste where you need it.
