Its is recommended to do parameter changes through RZ10. Check the parameter in RZ11 and if you see a check mark against DynamicallySwitchable, you dont have to reboot else it requires a reboot. All the changes you made through RZ10 is permanent. You can do it through OS level but its not a good practice. If you do it through RZ10 it is logged.

There may be other methods, but below is how I change my email photo.
Here is how to change your Mac Mail email photo in Mountain Lion:
Open the App called "Contacts". Type your name in the search field. Your contact info and photo should appear. Click on your photo. You now have some photo options. I use the "Recents" tab, and simply drag photo files from Finder into that window in Contacts. Drag and drop.
If you have trouble finding yourself in "Contacts" you can also get there by doing this:
Open one of your sent messages. Double click your photo in that message. This opens another window with your photo in it. Double-click that photo. This should open your contact information in the Contacts App.

we have ECC 6.0 in unix environment.
In production system we have cluster environment, we have DB+CL, Application 1 & Application 2.
Now we are getting the pagging issue so we want to change the instance parameter. i want to know that
if i am changing instance parameter, should i reset the parameter in DB+CL & all two application system?
please help out us.

on which server you have paging issue? is this on CI or any application server?
what OS you are using?
and what's the em/initial_size is set in instance profile for all the servers. what the PHYSMEM_SIZE you are using.
and can you send the trace file logs also.

In sapinst I missed changing the default central instance number from 01 (I intended to make it 60).
Is there a procedure to change the instance number (SAPSYSTEM in profiles)?

The guest user icon is a PNG file stored deep within OS X. I don't recommend you change operating system components that exist at that level though. Besides, the change is not likely to survive an OS X update.
If you really want to change it I'll post its location, but you'll be on your own if something breaks.
Edit: You'd be facing the same problem as in your other question: How to change folder symbol on desktop back to original? Modifying the Mac's basic user interface fundamentals can result in instability. If you want to perform that sort of customization anyway, always have a backup strategy in case something goes wrong. Try something like this from backend:
select fpot.user_profile_option_name, fpov.profile_option_value
from apps.fnd_profile_options fpo, apps.fnd_profile_options_tl fpot, apps.fnd_profile_option_values fpov
where fpo.profile_option_id = fpov.profile_option_id
and fpov.level_id=10001
and fpo.profile_option_name like '%PASSWORD%'

and fpot.language='US'
order by 1;
you can take a backup and update the table from backend. But, be cautious (oracle doesn't recommend updating from backend).

How to change sap-language parameter at runtime

I want to create a Change Language button on an webdynpro Application. I know that the parameter is determined during url creation, but i need the to give the user the posibility of changing the language without closing the browser and logging out etc.
My idea is to us an Outbound plug assigned to lets say a Button. The plug is connected to an Inbound plug og the very same Window. So actually the Application will reload.
The action on the button is like this
data: l_language type sy-langu.
l_language = cl_wd_runtime_services=>get_url_parameter( name = 'sap-language' ).
wd_this->fire_language_plg( ).
Then i read the current language - i.ex: E
But of course i will need to change the parameter sap-language to the new language - lets say: K

As far I know, there is no way to get the current url in browser. Alternately, you can get the url parameters and then construct the url with the parameters.
write the below code in HANDLEDEFAULT method of Window:
DATA: lt_parameters TYPE tihttpnvp.
*Get URL params
Wdevent->get_data(
EXPORTING name = if_wd_application=>all_url_parameters
IMPORTING value = lt_parameters ).
*Construct URL

How to change Instance Number of an existing 4.6C System ?

My customer has DEV and QAS systems running in separated boxes and having the same instance number of 00. Now I'm consolidating these two SIDs into a new box. So, I need to change the instance number of one of them.
I found note 127351 on how to do this but noticed that the note only applies up to release 4.0B. Not sure if it still is valid for 4.6C.
I'd appreciate your help on how to do this.

Hi Satid,
if you want to move 2 systems of 2 boxes to 1 box, you have to copy at least one system anyway and therefore need to change the hostname of that system.
If you are doing this, this is a homogenious systemcopy which could be run with R3setup as described in the SAP documentation. I'm using an bit easier approach with more or less just savlib/rstlib - if you are interested, I could mail this to you.
With a homogenious systemcopy or my approach you have to "re-decide" for the instance number - so this is just no problem at all.

How to change the codebase_lookup Parameter in Oracle's Applet?

We are using Oracle 10.1.2.3.0 AS, and we have some performance issues when running the applet. I turned on the Java trace and I saw that every time the user moves the cursor from one item to another, the application sends a request to the server, here is an example of that request:

Looking on the WEB I found out that this kind of requests can be disabled by changing Applet's codebase_lookup property. (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/plugin/developer_guide/special_attributes.html)
I've changed the formsweb.cfg and basejini.htm in order to add this parameter, but it didn't work.
Does anybody know where can I change the value of this parameter?

You can try passing the parameter in the HTML template file ... for example in the $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/basejpi.htm

How to change IM Profile after AUC settlement done

I have an issue here.We have a WBS element having an IM profile allowing summary settlement.WBS released,AUC created.Cost have been posted and settled to AUC.Later it was noticed that the IM profile is in correct and need another IM profile for the WBS.I reversed the settlement and transferred the cost of the WBS to another WBS by KB15N.now when I am going to change/delete the IM profile,system is not allowing it.AUC cant be deleted as it was automatically created.
Can anyone let me know whether it is possible anyhow to change the IM Profile now and whats the procedure for that.Its critical for my client so any t response will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for looking into it.I need to change the Investment Profile assigned to the WBS element.AUC has been created based on the Investment Profile and cost settled to AUC.Now I need to change the Investment Profile of the WBS element.I have tried reversing the settlement and then transferring the WBS cost to another WBS by KB15N but still system doesnt allow change/delete the Investment Profile.says AUC already posted.
any other ideas please.

when I point my cursor in Check No. column under Payment Means it shows "Check Number (Number from: -2,147,483,648 to: 2,147,483,647)", Is it possible to change this from 75000 to 80000?

That is not really a check numbering parameter, I believe it is a database parameter. For example you will see the same in the document numbering under system initialization.
