How to change J2EE add-in client after install?

Our J2EE add-in to our ABAP NW04 system was accidentally specified to use client 000, so now the UME shows users from client 000. How can we redirect this after the installation has been completed?

to change the client to which UME connects to you have to start the configtool found at \usr\sap\<SID>\<Instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat or .sh depending on your OS. When prompted for DB connection say yes. After that use the last button on the menu which says "switch to configuration editor mode" in it's tooltip. You will see a tree. move the tree down to cluster_data -> server -> cfg -> services -> Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service open that one in editing mode by pressing the button with the pencil first and then doubleclick the entry "Propertysheet..." in the popup navigate to ume.r3.connection.master.client and change the value from 000 to whatever client you need it to connect to. you have to restart the server after that.
The same thing can be done from the Admin tool but then the Server needs to be up and running. From configtool you only need to have the database running.

After you've installed SEM add-on in client 000 - it is available 'cross-client' in your system.
E.g.:
You have 3 standard clients (000, 001, 066) and client 100 (a copy from 000). You install add-on (any) it's standard delivery is immediately available in your system. The only thing you'd probably do (concerning BW) is maintain 'client' value in table RSADMINA:
ta 'SE16' --> table 'RSADMINA' --> field 'BWMANDT' (Unique client in BW).

How to change of NAME and IP after RAC installation.

I have a challenge here...Would appreciate if anyone can help me..
I have to install 10.2.0.3 Oracle RAC on windows 2003 server 64 bit.
My issue is now the server names and ips are set and I am going to install the RAC.
But the client need is that after one month, they need to change the names and ips of the servers (a one time change).
Because according to their server naming standards, current production servers are having the acceptable names and ips.
The installation was on a 32 bit OS, so they are facing out of process memory errors. Thats why they are going to 64 bit OS on new servers.
After the new servers are ready, the data will be migrated to new server. After a month, they need to change the names of new servers to that of the old (current production) servers.
Could anybody help me by giving me information about how to change the NAME and IP after a RAC installation ?

Hi,
You can change the IP later but you can not change the hostname of the system.
You have to install CRS freah if you want to change the hostname of the system.
Please let us know which IP you want to change.
You can see the metalink Note.276434.1 for VIP or VIP hostname change.

How to use Time Machine before and after installing a new hard drive

So basically I'm buying a new hard drive for my Macbook pro and I have a lot of files on my computer that I would like to save. I have never used Time Machine before so I need help on how to set it up before AND after installing the harddrive so my files get transferred onto the new hard drive. Thanks in advance

I don't have the document handy but there was a document on service.sap.com/security which would give you a list of all the ports. SAP's wording is some thing like "specific ports are fixed and SAP does not support changing that port number".
In case of GUI client and your example of 3200, as you know 00 is based on the fact that that is your instance number. You could change last two numbers by assigning a different instance number (and not 00).

Essbase excel add-on error after installing IR Studio.

Hyperion software compatibility issues?
Getting Essbase excel add-on error ("Error 1040007 Cannot find message database") after installing Hyperion Interactive Reporting Studio 9.3.1. We are able to consistently reproduce the error on several workstations.
Any ideas?

Try installing IR first, followed by the Essbase client. I think that worked for us. I can't recall what our path looked like in that scenario I just remember if we did it in that order things worked fine. I think Support said there is no certain "install order" that truly fixes the problem, that you have to manipluate the path by hand. But I'm pretty sure installing IR first worked in our enviro.
I do not know of a way to install IR Studio without the Essbase components, my understanding from Support is that they changed the product install thinking it was better this way, they learned after the fact it actually causes the problem you experienced. I would imagine they've changed/fixed the install behavior again in post 9.3.1 releases, but haven't heard.

I'm disappointed. After installing Lion, everything is slower. The best thing I had last year was my new MacBook Pro, because everything was fast.. (sleep, opening programs, multitasking...etc) Now, everything takes forever. How can I return back to OSx?

Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard. I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.

How many of you trashed Boot Camp after installing it?

The challenge is over. After installing and playing with windows on a Mac, I'm going to get rid of it. I feel like I'm at work when using it. Good god windows is ugly and uninviting. And that sound, that familiar windows is booting sound is enough to make me barf. The main problem is dual booting, maybe I'll try Parallels desktop when it becomes available. BTW, anybody know how to properly uninstall Boot Camp?

Actually it's working fine for me. Since I'm in a long transition process of going from Windows to Mac this is the perfect solution for me - one computer instead of two. Half the cost the way I see it. The only problem I ever had was with the Mac keyboard uninstalling itself on the Windows side intermittently - sometimes once an hour and sometimes every couple of minutes. Turns out it is a Mac issue either with the USB ports on the iMac or the keyboard itself not having enough power. Two solutions: 1) use a Windows keyboard, or 2) use an AC powered USB hub and plug the Mac keyboard into it.

I just downloaded and installed this program and I can not open it. It is not showing up on my desktop as an icon and it is not in the folder that i saved it in. I also have run a full search of the computer and it says that it has been installed but i still can not find the folder it is in so i can open it. After installing, the appropriate files will be installed in Program Files\Adobe (Win) or Application/Adobe/ (Mac). Could you check the following folders to see if the files are there.
Also did the installer report any errors?
