How to change page size from A5 to A4 in CS3

How do I change the pagesize of my booklet from A5 to A4 - basically I just want to blow the whole thing up a notch...
I've tried to activate automatic layout adjust and then changing document settings but the result is scattered objects that are still the same size as on A5 - too small and strangely placed...
What do I do?

A fast trick is to export the document to PDF and then place this into a new A4 document, scaled up to fit the page.[*]
InDesign can resize most stuff, but you will still get tiny differences in the text because of spacing, uneven rounding, etc. Layout Adjustment is meant as a shortcut to change margins in an existing document; but it's by no means perfect. It does not
i scale
text or images; it changes the margins and placement of objects only.
[*] With CS3, you can try placing the original CS3 document into a new one (as images). That would make corrections a bit easier.

  • XI Pro: How to change page size?

I have a letter-sized document where each page has extremely large margins and text in a tiny font size. Can I use the 'Remove White Margins' function (Crop pages > Set Page Boxes) to remove the large margins and then resize what remains back to 8.5" x11" using the 'Change Page Size' function?
When I try this, I can do the first step and I'm left with pages about 5.5"x8". But the Change Page Size function does not allow me to resize the page.
    It this possible?

  • Book Module - how to change page size?

I'd like to design book pages for my existing hard covers - A4 landscape and portrait. Also for specific 12x12 cover which takes 11.69" x 12" paper.
Have watched various YouTubes, search within support - but haven't found a reference to add preferred sizes. Yet.
Can anyone help on this one please?

Yep, that's how I am doing it. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing it correctly. I need to keep debugging then and figure out what the real problem is. I am new to all of this (obviously) and I just needed to make sure I had the idea correct. I didn't mean to use document and page interchangeably, I understand that you can't have different size pages in the same document.
    Thank you for your help.
[FYI]I created a class that creates a document with most of the document settings that I use (e.g. a standard number of pages, non-facing pages, units in inches, etc.) but I don't specify a page size, that's something that varies between documents, so I figured I could just apply that after I have created the page. The problem is, when I try to create multiple documents it doesn't work. The script will create the first document using the default page size settings and I can't get it to change the page size, but then the next document will be created using the page size I tried to apply from the previous document that the script created. I am sure this is totally a coding error somewhere else. I will try to track it down. Just when I think I have this stuff figured out . . .

  • HOW TO: Change page size after page is created?

Is there a way to change the size of a page after the page has been created? In the documentation, the only way I have seen to set the page size is in a "with" statement right after creating the document. I have need to change the size of the document after a document has already been created. Any ideas?

  • How-To Changing Page Size in iAuthor

    Hi,
is there a possibility to change the page size of an iAuthor iBook? I would like to create one which has the same dimension in portrait and landscape mode because the original paper book ist published in this way (of course I know, that I will get empty space when turning the iPad in portrait mode).
    Thanks, Tom

Yes, Since you can't change the actual size of the ipad, technically you can't have a square page on the ipad.
This is the best you can do,
When i look at the Yellow Submarine book on my ipad this is how it looks. (with space on top and bottom)
    (screen capture below.)
So that is what I was suggesting.
If you want the square book spread to fill the full height you will have part of one of the pages cropped off.
    (748 x 2 = 1496)
472 pixels will be cropped off.
this is also how the YS book works, (ugly in my opinion) this is not possible in IBA.

    Hello Anil,
Have you tried to click on the property palette of the 'Main Section' under 'Layout Model'. There you can set the Report Width and Height.

  • While using ibooks how to change page swipe from left to right vs top to bottom

Somehow I changed a setting in my Ibooks to change page by scrolling from top to bottom of the screen. I want to have page turn by moving from left to right. I am using iPhone with operating 7. whatever is out at this day and time. Can anyone help? Thanks
    Celestesyorkies.

tap the AA symbol at the top, the one for resizing text.
It will show a slider for brightness, font size, page colour, and on the bottom "scrolling view" off and on.
When the scrolling view is "on" (green) the book is read with a vertical slider and scrolling up and down.
When the scrolling view is "off" (no colour) the pages are changed by swiping left to right or right to left.

  • Changing page size from legal to letter with same size font when printed

I have the problem that I get a pdf which is in legal size format.  I need to print this in letter size, sign it and re-scan it and send via email to a person who then needs to print it and sign it and scan it.  What is happening is the person who I have to send this too can only scan letter size paper.  I can make the legal size form print, (shink to fit printable area), as letter size but the font becomes so small that it is unreadable.  What I need to do is resize the legal to letter but keep the same size font.  I expect this to make the document 2 pages but that is fine.  I can not find how to do this.  I have Adobe 9.
    [email protected]

Does the original legal size document content occupy more space than would fit on 8.5x11? If not, then you can simply set the page size in print driver properties to letter, and in the Page Handling area of the Print dialog box tell it:
    Page Scaling: None
    check: Auto-Rotate and Center
do not check: Choose paper source by PDF page size - this will force it to print on the paper selected in the print driver properties.
If the actual content is too large to print on the forced paper, then you need to (in the Page Handling area of the print dialog) tell it:
    Page Scaling: Tile large pages
This will allow the remaining content to print on a second page

  • How to change page size to generate PDF ?

    Hi,
I just finished a document : 4 pages on A4 format with texts and images.
I now have to generate a pdf file to send to the printer.... but the staff decided to change the format to a 80% of the initial size.  I have to generate the pdf to the right size and I don't really know how to do it.
On the second hand, I have a question about the jpg images imported in my document.  The printing company asked me to be sure to have CMJN pics.  As far as i know, jpg is RVB.  Does the pdf export make the change ?
    thanks in advance.

    isachrislisa,
In Preview you may Print to a reduced scale, and the medium you print to can be another PDF.
The color space question is an odd one, it seems to me, since I would think your printer should be the one to make such corrections. Without advanced graphics editing software, if would be difficult for you to transform your JPEGs from RGB to CMYK. A more reasonable request might be to keep all the photos and graphics in RGB so the printer has only color space to deal with converting. I'm sure that given some time, the commercial printing experts will jump in here with some better advice.

  • How to change page size by default

Hi, I'm sorry if this has been aswered before - I looked for a solution but couldn't find one.
The problem is I use Pages in French on a localized French Canadian G5. By default, new documents in Pages are set to A4 format, a eurpoean standard. I want it to be set at US Letter, a North America standard. The Printer and Fax System Prefs are set to US Letter and usually other apps behave accordingly, but Pages seems to be reluctant to do so. Any idea ?
    Thanks,

    Hello Christian,
have a look inside of the Pages app folder. Do that with the controll key pressed and a mouse-click on the Pages app icon. Choose the item "Show Package Contents" and a new Finder window will open. Now navigate through "Contents > Resources > English.lproj > Templates". There are two folders: "ISO" is holding the DIN templates and "Traditional" is holding the size you need. You can do four things:
    1) Rename the two folders, so "Traditional" is named "ISO" an vice versa.
    2) Move the "ISO" folder to a place you can remember if you need a DIN Template one day.
    3) Delete the "ISO" folder if you only need the "Traditional" templates.
    4) If you only need the "Empty" template, than create a link of the "Traditional > Blank > Blank.template" on your Finder, so you have it always at hand with a "single double-click".

yes you are right but what can i do as per my understanding about the below statement is that i should crerate DSS instead of gernal purpose database plz help what can i do now
From Bug 5141453, development indicates that DB_BLOCK_SIZE cannot be changed for the General Purpose, Transaction Procession and DataWarehouse templates as the seed database is using 8k block size.
You should create a custom database to get a different block size.

how to change font size on screen

I'm not certain what font sizes you wish to change, when on a page you can use command and the += button to zoom in and make the fonts larger. On the finder desktop you can make what ever is on the desktop larger or smaller from the finder menu click view, custom view options, and adjust the icon size with the slider on the top, and the text using the text size box to select the size that your comfortable with.

Can this be done? If so, how? I'm using Acrobat Standard V7.0.

Just select the paper size in the page setup (at least for AA8). Then print. I just did that to go from 8X11 to legal.
