How to change "primary" ICloud Acct.

When I got my current mac, I only used my wife's icloud account to sync calendars. Now that I activated an Icloud account of my own, it states that it's not my "primary" icloud account. I deleted my spouses account, but that change nothing. I can't find any way to modify that setting.
Clues anyone?

Finally figured it out. You have to remove all accounts from your mac, then add and log in to the "primary" one first. Any additional ones added for calendar share etc. will become secondary.
Oh boy, there was a few hours burned. ):-(

Question on iCloud accounts:  I have my iPhone and iPad on one iCloud account, but my Mac is on my old Mobile me account.  Can't figure out how to change my iCloud account on my MacBook Pro so all 3 are synced.

First, open System Preferences > MobileMe and log out. Then, open  > About this Mac and see Version. If you see 10.5.x or 10.6.x, see > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If your Mac is compatible, upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and purchase OS X Mountain Lion.
When you have upgraded, go to System Preferences > iCloud and follow its steps

    Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your phone).

  • How to change my iCloud account with only access to the Apple ID

    Hello everyone
Im using my previous company ipad and i dont have access to the registered iCould account.
How to change my icloud account to a new email account that i own.
I have access to the Apple ID Account but i dont have access to the iCloud account in it.
The Security Question was made by the tech admin of the company not by me, so not even that way its possible.
    Thank You in advance,
    Frederico

I wish Apple improves this Security measures so that it lets remove features with both logins, Apple or iCloud credentials.
Also the iCloud needs improvements, it should use the Apple ID not some other different login. The email part of icloud should be in iCloud but most people don't use iCloud mail so the rest of the features should be in the same email credentials as Apple ID.
This way im not sure if i take the risk on Restoring the iPad, i could end up beeing locked out of my own device.
All this hierarchic credentials are confusing. I would only need the Apple ID that is being used on the iPad to clean it up or turn off options like iCloud account currently on the device.

  • How do I delete icloud acct. when I changed the login info and can't sign in to it anymore?

How do I delete my icloud acct.?
I changed my login info and now i can't sign in, I read that I have to delete it to update icloud info so how do i delete it if i can't sign in?

If you are trying to delete the account from your device, and if the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  You should now be able to use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.  After doing so you can delete the account and go back to https://appleid.apple.com to change your ID back to the way it was.

  • TS4020 How do I change the iCloud acct on my sons i-Pod?

When my 12yr old son got a new i-Pod (gen 4), I originally set it up to use my iCloud acct. Now he's got his own e-mail address, so I'd like to have his i-Pod create and use his e-mail address. I can't figure out how to change that from his device, or while hooked up to i-Tunes on my PC.  Also, doing this won't automatically kill his sync ability to my i-Tunes on my PC, right?  Many thanks for any help!
    Brianne

If you want to simply change accounts on his iPod, save any photo stream photos that he wants to keep to his camera roll, then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes if from his iPod, not from iCloud; your phone won't be effected by this), provide the password (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with his new Apple ID to create his new account.  If you want to migrate a copy of the data to his new account, choose Keep on My iPod when you delete the account, then choose Merge after signing into his new account to upload the data.
Having a separate iCloud account won't effect his ability to sync with iTunes on your PC.

  • HT5621 d is still registering the old ID and I can't work out how to change my icloud Apple ID.

I have changed my out Apple ID for a new one. This has been successful for iTunes etc but not for iCloud. I can't seem to work out how to change my account  which is the email address used for my old Apple ID.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Simply:
    1.     back up Calendar and Address book if you haven't recently
    2.     open System Prefs on your desktop Mac
    3.     open iCloud
    4.     on the left side, click SIGN OUT
    5.     say yes to the three alerts (it will delete your calendar and address book info, which will be restored once you sign in again.
    6.     sign in again using the primary account you want

  • How to change my icloud email address

I went to backup my iphone using icloud and its asking for a password to an email that was originally used to my school. I no longer go to school nor do i use that email. I cannot change the icloud email to my apple id. When i do try to delete the account it asks me for a password. I tried every password i have and I can't delete the stupid account. How do i change the email to my apple id?

An iCloud account is also an Apple ID. It sounds like you have two different Apple ID accounts -- your iCloud account, and the Apple ID you created with your school email address. Unfortunately you cannot merge Apple ID's, but you can manage them at appleid.apple.com.

  • HT204053 How to change my iCloud I.d to the same as apple I.d

When I brought my I.pod I used my partners details for payment purchases but my e.mail and password for apple I have changed my details but need to change the I cloud email as I don't have one and this is still in my partners ....so now I have my phone how do I do this.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  This will only delete the account from your device, not from iCloud.  Your partner's device(s) will not be effected by this.

  • How to change my iCloud email

    Dear community,
Recently we changed our home email and now have each of our own emails. My iCloud still has my old email for the username and I don't know how to change it to my new email. Anyone have any ideas?

This explains how to change the email address associated with your Apple ID, if that's what you're asking: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621.  (Your iCloud ID is also an Apple ID.)
