How to change print quality on cp1515n

We recently purchased a HP CP1515n colour printer to replace a HP 2600n printer. The print quality is excellent but the problem is the printer (CP1515n) is using alot of toner compared to the 2600n. For example the black toner which is rated at 2200 prints will run out before it does 700 prints according to the web console for the printer. Is there anyway to reduce the amount of toner used by dropping the print quality ?
On most printers in the quality settings in the driver (printer properties) you can chose an economy quality setting such as economy, draft or low which uses alot less toner. On this printer there is only one setting ImageREt 3600 which uses alot of toner due to the way it prints. I have upgraded the firmware on the printer, downloaded the latest driver and checked all the manuals etc but can't find how to do this.
Could you please help.
Thanks.

The only solution I found was to turn off the out of toner warning on the printer. It then continues to print normally for a long time after the message starts to appear. The new toners in the UK are £50 each (including postage) which makes £200 for a full set but a new printer is about £150 normally. Seems strange how the price of a print + toners is alot less than the price of the toners. I also found some CP1515n's for sale at £100 each so bought one to use its toners, which works out at £25 per toner. HP's pricing policy on toners is a bit strange.

You can change the brightness with an RGBImageFilter which converts the rgb values to HSV, increases the value, and converts back to rgb.

  • How do I change printer quality?

I am in the Print window and I click on the pull down menu that says Copies and Pages, and I see 8 options, none of which have anything to do with printer quality. On my Windows machine all I had to do was select between "draft, normal, and best" quality. Why is it so difficult on the Mac???

click on Copies and Pages, are the following:
    Copies and Pages
    Layout
    Scheduler
    Paper Handling
    Colorsync
    Cover Page
    Firefox
    Summary
If those are your only choices and you have looked through all of them, then my only suggestion is to refer you back to the provider of the printer driver. This is presumably the manufacturer of your printer which you did not specify.
What you are seeing is not normal in my opinion. Either the printer driver is constructed at odds with the norm, there is some corruption, or the printer has not been added properly.

  • Problem: Changing print quality iMac + Canon Printer MG6220

If I want to print a web page in Firefox from my iMac to a Canon MG6220 printer, I cannot change the print quality. I can only choose "Standard" and not "Fast". All other options for print quality are "grayed-out".
This happens in both Firefox and Aurora. It does not hold true with Safari, Opera, Chrome, OmniWeb, Camino, and Flock. Also, it does not hold true with Thunderbird.
I want to stay with Firefox/Aurora as my default browser.

    Hi reidiallen-
I would recommend that you check out this Support article on troubleshooting printer issues. Checking other browsers is definitely the best first step.

I am trying to print from photoshop elements 10 and the paper I am using is an odd size 8x5.

Use a web browser to access the web interface for the printing system. Go to _http://127.0.0.1:631/printers_ and find your printer. Click on the button *Set Printer Options*. You should select duplex printing and the orientation that you want to make default. Be sure to click the *Set Printer Options* button when you are done. You will have to supply your administrator's short user name and password. Matt

  • Can't change print quality...please help!

In reference to the box that pops up when you choose to print something: in the drop down menu where you can select "paper handling", "layout", "scheduler" etc. there used to be something that allowed me to select the type of paper I was using as well as the print quality. But now it is not there and I am completely unable to alter the print quality!
All that's in the drop down menu is: Copies & Pages, Layout, Scheduler, Paper Handling, ColorSync, Cover Page, and Summary. I cannot change the print quality when I select any of these options from the drop down menu.
I've downloaded the drivers for my printer on the HP site already and it doesn't help. I don't understand what is going on as the option to change the print quality seemed to have just disappeared. It seems like it's more of a Mac problem than a problem with my printer...I'm not sure.
Please help!!! I'm completely stuck printing low res things and I NEED to print better quality than this!

Are you certain that your correct printer is selected in the Printer: list?
Since reinstalling the driver have you repaired permissions?
What programs are you attempting to print from?

  • How to adjust print quality via iPad?

How do you adjust the print quality in Pages via iPad? Or what is the best way to print a phoot from iPad?

You do not adjust the print quality in IOS Pages. The capability of your Air Print capable printer for handling Postscript/PDF print jobs, and its inherent resolution capability/setting — will dictate the quality of the print.
Suggest you open the document with Pages v5 on OS X, where you can control the output quality in a PDF export to a capable printer.

  • How to change color quality \ depth ?

    Hi
How to change my color setting from 16 \ 24 \ to 32 bit ?
    because when I`m entering supportdetais.com
color depth shows 24 bit only !!

There really isn't such a thing. Go to this article and scroll down to 32-bit color.
Full color in how we humans implemented digital data is normally 24-bit. A byte is 8 bits. Starting from 00000000 and counting every possible distinct combination up to 11111111 gives us 256 shades of gray per color channel of Red, Green and Blue. So 24-bit color is 256 x 256 x 256 (2563), or using the usual rounded off figure, 1.6 million colors.
I know Windows has allowed the choice of 32-bit color for quite a few years, but users were never actually getting that.

  • How to change size/quality of Frontrow trailers

Hi, I'm trying to find a way to change the quality/size of the trailers that Frontrow plays.
On the Apple trailers site you can pick between different sizes, and now even HD ones.
Whilst I love that FR trailers play almost immediately, the quality of the movie file is probably toward the lower end.
Does it serve accorinding the bandwidth setting you have in the Quicktime software, or are you stuck with one size fits all?
    PowerBook G4 1Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

It is likely that they are just trying to conserve bandwidth by not showing the higher quality trailers.
MediaCentral by Equinox makes a good FrontRow-like product that allows you to choose the trailer size.

    Hello mshantea,
If you are sending print jobs to the printer's ePrint email, there is no way to adjust the quality.  Sorry.

  • How to change print size and DPI setting in Aperture

If I import a raw image from my camera (D2X) to Aperture and print the image at about 8"x10" through Aperture, it prints at about 300 DPI, if I change to size of the same image to 12"x18", in Aperture, it prints the image at about 166 DPI. I do not believe there is a way to change this in Aperture.
My question is, can I open the image at 8"x10" in PS, change the size and resolution to 12"x18" and 300 DPI then save it, open it again in Aperture and print it. If I do these things, will the image printed in Aperture still be 300 DPI and how can I check it to see if that is the case?
I have not been able to find the DPI setting anywhere in Aperture to confirm that it is what I want or need.

"You can make the pixels bigger by making the image larger but you can't add any more pixels without running some kind of interpolation filtration like GenuineFractals or a recomputation like bicubic."
Thank you for your explanation and that brings me exactly to the point of my question.
Can I interpolate my original NEF raw image after conversion by Aperture to a much larger image for print using something similar to what Photoshop does with it's bicubic smoother or as is done in genuine fractals or must I go out of Aperture and back if I want to print with Aperture. I am hoping you will tell me that Aperture is or will be capable of interpolating an image to a larger one with more than just the pixels supplied by the camera. I do not belive that these are not enough by themselves to print a quality image in a much larger size.
I may be wrong, but I believe that it is somewhat common practice to interpolate an image to get a greater resolution printed image at a size larger that what is possible with a resolution provided by the (D2x in my case) DSLR camera.
Or is this just a tempest in a teapot. In other words, will I be able to take the image out of the D2x (12.5 megapixels) and print a 13x 19" image with the same quality in Aperture (uninterpolated but enlarged) as an interpolated image in PS or Genuine Fractals and then in PS?
    Thank you

  • Software changes print quality to Advanced Photo Paper Normal.

I am using an Officejet 8500 909a.  In the last week each time I go to print the quality is changed to Advanced Photo Paper, Normal.  I have tried making new saves with Plain paper, normal; plain paper, draft but no matter what it still prints on Advanced which uses a lot of ink.
I uninstalled the driver software, downloaded it and installed it again but still no change.

    Wucta,
    Congratulations on your new printer!
