How to Change repository in Discoverer 11g

Hi Experts, i hope this is a very good question .
we have installed discoverer 11g on a dev databse successfully and i worked fine for few days . suddenly our database got corrupted and lost so we have created a new database with same old name and deleted the previous one . i believe that the repository that was created using RCU also lost . now my question is .
1. Do we need to uninstall the whole setup and create a new repository and again install discoverer .
2. can i create a new repository and replace it with the existing repository ( if yes, then where can i do that ) .
3. my db servers are also changed so where are the places do i need to update the tns entries
Please let me know .
FYI , below is the error on the discoverer login page .
A connection error.
- error while creating the session, check for other errors.
- oracle.discoiv.connections.ConnectionStoreException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: No good connections available.
- weblogic.common.ResourceException: No good connections available.

unable to retrieve connection list

Will this work for you?
To change the password for a connection:
1. Display the Discoverer Viewer connections page (for more information, see "How to display the Discoverer Viewer connections page" - http://docs.huihoo.com/oracle/docs/B14099_19/bi.1012/b13987/vstart.htm#CHDHCCED) .
2. Select the Update icon next to the connection for which you want to change the password.
3. Click Change Database Password.
4. In the Password field, enter the current database password for the current username.
5. In the New Password field, enter a new database password for the current username.
6. In the Verify Password field, re-enter the new database password for the current username.
7. Click Finish.
The Connect to OracleBI Discoverer page is displayed. You can now use the connection to start Discoverer Viewer.

I would recommend using the Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Configuration Guide appropriate for your implementation (e.g. for Oracle BI Discoverer 10g Release 2 for SPARC, click on the link above). Here is what the documentation says:
To change the port on which Discoverer is deployed:
-Start Oracle Application Server Control and display the System Components page (for more information, see Section 5.1.2, "How to start Application Server Control and display the System Components page").
Display the Ports tab
-In the rows containing the Oracle HTTP Server component (Type=Listen), select the edit icon in the Configure column to display the Server Properties page for that component.
-Scroll down to the Listening Addresses and Ports area and change the port number in the Default Port field.
-Click OK.
-When you are prompted to restart the Oracle HTTP Server, click Yes.
For more information about the Server Properties page in Application Server Control, see Application Server Control Help.
Hint: If you change a Discoverer port number, make sure that any other OracleAS components that use that Discoverer port number are synchronized.
I have not needed to do this, so I can not speak from experience. As always, try this in a test environment first.

How to deploy repository in OBIEE 11g

I installed Oracle BI on a 32 bit system. Used the upgrade assistant to upgrade the repository from 10g to 11g. Everything went well and I could see all my dashboard.
Now my question is I need to do this installation on my clients computer so I installed BI on it. But now instead of going thru upgrade process can I just use the upgraded repository from my system? If so how should I do the deployment?

However I need to do this on few systems. Is there a way to do without using UI. I mean can i just copy few files or update existing once to do this? Or do in silent mode. Basically I don't want to connect client computer every time if they want to install BI on a seperate box. So looking for some automated way....

How to Change Repository Mount Point

As the subject says - how can I change the repository mount point? If I try to update an existing repository, I get an error indicating that the ID already exists in the database. While I could specify a new ID for the repository, I'm worried that I may corrupt the repository tree if I start changing ID's of objects.....
I could always delete and re-create the repository, but I'd rather not.

The old installation is booted because of the BIOS boot order. Press a special key right after starting the computer, during BIOS post, and select the SSD as boot device. To make this permanent you need to modify the BIOS boot order. I'm surprised you were able to install arch linux without knowing these basics.

I was the owner of this thread, and I've resolved the issue with discover by updating the old Hostname Pointers to new Hostname in all the discoverer config files using "grep & replace" method.

I have a repository variable which populates sysdate in OBIEE. It is coming as datetimestamp. I know repository variables are long char.
I am using this variable in report title. It is coming as datetimestamp.
Is there ant way to just show it as date.

i didn't get your complete requirement..
But, you can't change/set repository variable value from front-end, unless it's session variable and use request variable in the dashboard prompt

Install Repository Creation Utility [RCU] for Discoverer 11g

Please help me in answering below quesitons.
1. We are implementing Discoverer 11g on Sun Solaris 64 SParc systems
2. For this i did download software using "edelivery" - Oracle Fusion MiddleWare 11g.
3. I did installed Weblogic server
4. But there is no "Repository Creation Utility " for solaris env. Is it mandatory to install Repository Creation Utility for discoverer 11g installation
our main goal is to install discoverer 11g and integrate with e-business environment 12.1.3
Please advise on this

Section "5. RCU only on Linux x86 and Windows 32 bit"
This states:
"Since the Repository Creation Utility (RCU) is only available on Linux and Windows, how can I create schemas in other supported Oracle Database platforms?
Answer:
RCU is only available for Windows 32 bit and Linux x86. Run RCU on these supported platforms to remotely access a certified Oracle Database Server (see Certification Guide) by following the RCU User's Guide"

How to change the 'Default operating mode' of a mapping on the repository and not from the client

Hi everybody,
I am using OWB 11.2.0.3 and under the mapping's configuration property, I have the necessity to change the Run time parameter "Default operating mode" to SET_BASED in almost all my mappings.
Because I have 745 mappings in which the Default operating mode is different from SET_BASED, instead to open 745 times the 'Configure' and update manually the value, is there a way to update safely these values (with an oracle predefined script) directly on the repository ?
I know that exists a view called CMPSTRINGPROPERTYVALUE_V based on a table called CMPSCOPrpClasses, but changing this table it's very complicated for me because contains only keys and then I don't know in which way is connected with all the other structures....
If somebody knows a method more efficient to do these updates on the repository and not from OWB client I will appreciated it!

How to change Refresh Time in a Discoverer Portlet?

I have added a discoverer portlet to my main portal page. The minimum refresh time for the discoverer page i could set is 1 hour. Is there any way i could change it to 1 min as this is getting real time data in the database which i would like to display immediately.

i have searched both metalink and here but found nothing .. doesnt anybody know how to change the discoverer portlets refresh time interval anything other than 1 hour,1day,1week etc. (they are the only options available)

ii. Update the userAttributes.properties file in the IdentityTaskFlow.jar/oracle/iam/resources/IdentityTaskFlow and create a new IdentityTaskFlow.jar
iii. Copy the updated IdentityTaskFlow.jar to $OIM_ORACLE_HOME/ server/apps/oim.ear/admin.war/WEB-INF/lib/
For "User Type", try putting the property name as "user_type" or try "role". One should work.

We finally started to migrate from Oracle iAs 10g Release 2 to Oracle Forms and Reports 11g Release 2 using Web Logic. I don't see an option to install Discoverer on the server.
My OS: windows 2008 R2
Installed Web Logic 10.3.6
Forms & Reports: 11.1.2.2.0_64 (64 Bit Forms)
How do I install Discoverer Plus in 11g? All I can find is Discoverer 11g Desktop/Administrator to run on User work Station. We were using discoverer Plus in 10g iAS.

Actually I am just concern abt the OBIEE Dashboard page, the link that u have mentioned is for Application Server, where we can manage the multiple Application Portals.
and it also doesn't come with Middleware that we are installing for OBIEE.
so i did get some useful information but not related to my question.
is there any place in EM(Enterprise Manager) or Console(Admin Console) from where we can manage the Default Portal for OBIEE Users?
