How to change settings to view JPEG images?

I have a Gmail account and when I attempt to view Jpeg images on emails in a larger size I get a blank page with a crossed box in one corner . How can I change settings on my PC to view the images?

Assume you're using Internet Explorer browser?
Is it happening on all images you open?
You can verify Internet Explorer is setup to show images by going to: Tool, Internet Options, click the advanced tab and under Multimedia make sure Show Pictures is checked.
Make sure you have the latest updates for Internet Explorer from Windows Update.

I'm definately no guru, but this is how you can change it.
CTRL + ALT + Click on the part of the component that you want to change. This brings up the Hidden Dom Inspector, background of component will be surrounded with a red outline (Make sure the red outline is surrounding the part of the tabset you want to change), Now you go to properties sheet and click the ellipses next to rules property this will pop up a dialog you look in this list (At the top) to see the default style classes that are affecting the rendering of the component outlined in red. (You will be able to select different sections of a single component) then you just rewrite the style class that you want to change in your Stylesheet (You will not find the styleclass that you want to change because it is a part of your theme .jar but as long as you name it exactly the same and place in your stylesheet it will override the theme .jar style classes) it's actually very easy -- you were right should be a piece of cake for a guru. Don't have the link handy but you can check out Winston's Blog on changing Table Formatting to get this information...It is EXTREMELY useful if you want your apps to have a custom look and not default that comes with Creator Themes.

How to change the default view of published iCal's URL

I am publishing an iCal for a nonprofit group and link to the calendar from the group's website. The default URL given (in the send publish email option) leads to the week view of the current week. I would prefer the link to take site visitors to the month view of the calendar. If I go to the month view and copy the URL for it, and use that for the link, I have to change the URL each month, because the URL that comes from the month view will only show the month it was at the time I copied the URL -- it will not change with the new month. Does anyone have any idea of how I can change the URL so that it leads to the month view of whatever the current month is?
I should note that I know how to change the default view in the my browser, but I would rather not have to explain how to do this to all the people viewing the calendar -- just wanting the correct month view to show up when they click the link, without having to change it each month.
I would be so grateful if anyone has some insight on this!

In direct response to your questions, I would say that (as observed by the OP) anyone who subscribes to a published calendar can make a change to their desired view using the "Preferences" icon which is displayed underneath the mini-month calendars.
There is no way that I know of to directly or conveniently change the time-range. There may be workarounds, but I could not find a suitable solution for you.
I would recommend that you provide iCal Feedback, if you are interested in informing Apple of your desires.

How can I load a CMYK jpeg image

How can I load a CMYK jpeg image (originally saved from Photoshop) and then
turn it into an rgb BufferedImage, in order to display it on screen in an
applet?
I first tried ImageIO.read(), but that does not work for cmyk jpegs. I then
looked into the com.sun.image.codec.jpeg package, and tried methods like
decodeAsBufferedImage() and decodeAsRaster().
The first one (decodeAsBufferedImage) returned an image, but it seems that
it was interpreted as an ARGB, and the colors were incorrect.
I then read the documentation which (amongst many other things) stated that
"If the user needs better control over conversion, the user must request the
data as a Raster and handle the conversion of the image data themselves."
This made sense, so I took to decodeAsRaster(), only to find that I could
not figure out how to carry out the desired conversion.
Of course, I have looked into the documentation for BufferedImage, Raster,
ColorModel, ColorSpace etc, but after a while I was lost. (Before I got lost
I read that you can convert images with the help of methods like toRGB,
toCIEXYZ.)
I have a feeling that this is probably pretty simple if you just know how to
do it, but I sure would need some directions here.

You can either use the "Place" command from the main menu, under "File", or you can just open it, select the move tool "V", the click in the image and drag it to the other file's tab.

Go into outline view. If you can see the outlines of the letterforms, you can't just change the text. If the letterforms are solid black, take the type tool, select the text and type yours.
Anyway you can just select the letters, take the type tool and type new text.
Working with the type tool is a basic. Please see the manual for details

According to your description, you want to change the bar chart rendering image format as JPEG format when previewing the report or exporting to a PDF file .
In Reporting Services, the chart rendering image format is PNG by default. It’s a by-design behavior. And it doesn’t open any API for us to change the image type when exporting a chart to a format. So in your scenario, your requirement can’t be achieved
in Reporting Services currently. I would recommend you submit a feature request to Microsoft at this site:
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer. So that we can try to modify and expand the product features based on your needs.

How do I change the font in my image without changing the image itself?

When you create text in photoshop and save the resulting image in psd or tiff, the text stays live. Allowing you to edit it later on, which is why it is recommended to save to one of the two formats for archival purposes.
If your text is live, all you have to do is doube click on the icon in the text layer, that will highlight all of the text for that layer. You can then change the properties of that text. Draging across the text will also highlight only what you want selected, and only that portion will be affected by any changes in its properties.
If you save to a format like jpg and that is the only copy, you then have to use the selection tools to seperate the text from its background. Once the text is selected, you then need to find away to replace what was underneath, hopefully it a solid color, but only you know, since there are no screen grabs to look at.
If the background consist of multiple colors, you may have luck using the clone tool, or healing brush, etc. to try to mimic the area around the text. If you have CS5 or CS6 you may even have luck with the content fill feature.
All I can say is if the text is not live, its going to take time and patience to make it look good. And use this as a learning experience for both learning how to do it the hard way and to save as a psd from now on.

I've created over a hundred files in Photoshop for placement in a book I'm making with software provided by the printer that uses templates of set sizes. My big mistake was to make all the files in Photoshop at A4 size (21cm X 29.7cm) whereas the template page size is 8 x 10 inches. (I know, really dumb on my part not to double-check this vital statistic!).
If I change the document dimensions via Image > Canvas Size, the images (which are all printed articles, not photos) are cropped, which is useless.
Rather than create 100 new files using the correct page setup dimensions, changing the image dimensions in the old file, copying and pasting it into the new (10" x 8") file, can anyone suggest a simpler way? I don't mind doing this manually, but ideally I'll be able to do it in the existing file rather than creating a new one.

I'm confused by one thing. The other answer to my question (see thread) says to turn Resample Image "off". You say to turn it on. Which is it? I didn't really understand the other advice or the terminology (e.g interpolate).

Cannot view jpeg images in windows photo viewer (windows 7 32 bit)

When i open any jpeg image in windows photo viewer, it opens but shows nothing, only black plain image is displayed like below.
I am using adobe cs5 bridge and cannot preview the images in bridge as well, instead same black preview is shown.
