How to change standard start page of AS Java

Dear experts,
could you please tell me - is it possible to change the start page of the SAP J2EE server (which is shown when you go to the http://<server name>:50+<system number>*100 page -
SAP Help Portal, System information, User Management etc.)?
Is it possible to change it to the customer page?
I thought it is connected with HTTP provider service, but the root directory pointed where
doesn't exists in the server (.../j2ee/docs),
so I don't understand, from what source the standard page is retrieved and shown to the user.

thanks a lot for clearing of the situation.
In fact we have a question - how to show the static web page which is stored on the J2EE server instead of the standard index.html. It is not an application, but simple html page.
In HTTP provider help we can see the following lines -
Root Directory
The root directory for this host. The installation program does not create the main directory for the HTTP files automatically. It must be created additionally, or the path must be redirected to an existing directory.
Value ../../docs
Start Page
This page is displayed when the browser establishes a connection with the host. The server searches the root directory for a file that appears in the Welcome Files list. The first match found is returned to the client browser.
So does it mean that we have to create docs directory manually and put our file into this directory?
Or it is the wrong approach?

Write your own page called welcome.html and install it into your document root. In the General panel of the website enter welcome.html as the first entry in the default page files. Remove/rename the index.html page that comes with the website setup.
Apache will now go to your default page instead of the one supplied when you setup the website. To ensure you can reach your wikis, make sure you have a link to each group on your welcome page as in:
mydomain.com/groups/<each group>

Of course it unrotates the text if I'm editing the text box, but not when I'm resizing or changing font properties. And when editng the text and there is an image beside it, the image obscures the text which makes editing exasperating. And since I got a table on landscape that exceeds 7.5" width, when trying to edit the last 2 columns,those become invisible on portrait, hence I'm unable to edit. And so has to set the doc to landscape, set to 0-deg, edit, set it again to portrait and 90-deg, and repeat if I happen to need to edit those invisible columns. Really a great and efficient way to write my technical doc! Which you would know IF YOU HAD TRIED IT -don't appreciate your sarcasm!
You can defend this blatant failure all you want but this kind of inadequancy continues because people don't speak up and demand this reasonable function and instead are satisfied with work-arounds that makes things hard for relatively easy task. I'm a systems and applications designer, this is the type of "missing feature" that would cause our app to be rejected by our clients. Surely you realized that because the users demanded, since 10.7, window resizing can be done from all corners instead of just right corners (or was it only bottom right)? I was shocked when I discovered this 2yrs ago when I switched to Mac and started using Snow Leopard. I'm grateful that I can now resize on 4's.

Changing the Start Page after loggin in the application

How can we change the start page once i log in to the oracle apex application.I took the following measures to change the page number
The default source code for the login page 101 process is
wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login(
P_UNAME => :P2_USERNAME,
P_PASSWORD => :P2_PASSWORD,
P_SESSION_ID => v('APP_SESSION'),
P_FLOW_PAGE => :APP_ID||':1'
I tried to change the P_FLOW_PAGE variable to page 15 as below
P_FLOW_PAGE => :APP_ID||':15'
but still no luck,still the login page is redirecting me to page 1 only instead of page 15.Can any of the experts here please help.

You need to go to
Home>Application Builder>Application 127>Shared Components>Edit Security AttributesThen edit the Home Link item.
For example, mine is set to
f?p=&APP_ID.:35:&SESSION.The result is that my application goes to page 35 after login.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select

How to change standard text in me33k (under Reference data : Dept/Proj Manager) field. I tried it changing in CMOD - under Goto in Text enhancements in Keywords then Change . I did this change and in table ekko-verkf I can see the change, but in me33k I cannot . Appreciate if anybody can reply back soon and help me solve this issue? points awarded for sure.

If u are talking about the text related to a Contract by (Trx ME33K --> Header --> Texts --> Text Overview).
Then u need to use the FM create_text and then put the import parameters as
Text Name     = (contract number)
Language       = EN
Text ID        = K00 Release order header text put K01 for first item text K02 for second item text so on
Text object    = EKKO       Purchasing doc. header texts
and then call bapi_transaction_commit
u ll be a ble to find the changes

Cannot change Firefox start page on XP, always Dell Start page.

I cannot change the start page on Firefox on my Dell XP. I can change it on I.E., Seamonkey, and Netscape. Firefox always becomes the Dell/Google start page. I don't have the GoogleAFE nor the Browser Address Redirect programs. I don't have the My Way program. I am not using Zone Alarm (which locks the home page). No entry in the registry has a google.com/ig/dell URL. This only affect Firefox.

See the [[Preferences are not saved]] article. If it is just the home page setting that can not be changed, the first place to check is the user.js file as shown in that article.

You can make changes to them directly. But it is a best practice not to disturb them, but save as a new report and then make necessary changes. So you can save as them and make necessary changes.

How to change heap memory size for general java applications (not applets)

Hi. I made a java class which manipulates images and I sometimes get an out of memory error when the files are large. In these cases I can run it successfully from the command line using:
java -Xms32m -Xmx128m myappbut as I run this class from a firefox extension, I can't use this technique.
Could some one tell me how to set this globally? I've found a lot of info on setting it for applets in the control panel but that's it. I also tried editing my deployment.properties file by adding:
deployment.javapi.jre.1.6.0_11-b03.args=-Xmx128mbut none of these options seem to work.

There is no direct documentation on [_JAVA_OPTIONS|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/2d/flags.html] but was made available since at least 1.3.

You specified you are not using applets, but if you do, I would also suggest you use the next Generation Plug-in (since 1.6.0_10) that allows you specify the max memory in the applet without having to instruct the user how to make the change. How to change users' initial page based on a condition

I'm using SSO on my application, and have two types of users who will be logging on - I want one set (admins) to go straight to one page, and the other set (users) to go to a another page after logging in. These two sets of users are stored in the database, so I can want to use that to check against.
I get the impression this would be easy enough if my users went via the 101-login page, but as I'm using SSO I don't think they do. I can change the default starting page, with the home link setting in the application's security attributes, but you can only set one of those.
I don't mind having it all default to one page, and then redirect away from that if the username meets a particular condition, but can't see how I can do that.
Can anyone suggest how I can work this to achieve what I need?

First I would create a HOME_PAGE application item. Then I would create an application computation on new instance that sets that item accordingly. something like this:

from user_tableI would make a landing page all people go to. Page 150. On that page i would make a branch before header which references your HOME_PAGE application item.
