I only want the recent like 20 messages to be displayed... But after I was reading through my email (meaning that pretty much all my emails were downloaded).. I couldn't decrease the number of emails displayed on my account email anymore....

As the old saying says: "You can tune a filesystem, but you can't tune a fish.".
Anyway, Robert is right, even if it might depend slightly on the type of filesystem, its in any case true for UFS. The few things you can tune for UFS are tuned with "tunefs"..

Yes, it has been discussed here for years now. Mail has never had default settings for font face, font size, or color. You can use custom stationery or begin your text in the first line of a signature which has the style you want. For some people it who really need this feature it makes sense to use Entourage or Thunderbird instead. To ask Apple to add these in 10.7, you can go here:
